However, it took forever for the outsourced company to come by for the installation, and when the guy finally dropped by, he told us that a bunch of other stuff needs to be replaced/repaired before he can even install the new opener, so he ended up leaving without doing anything and we started shopping around for other garage door repairman - that's when I came across Yafa Garage Door. Salem responded to me almost immediately after I sent out the request and showed up within a couple of hours after our brief exchange. He was professional and was able to explain to me what was really going on with our garage door. He then provided different options for us to consider and gave us his honest opinion about his approach, not to mention the price is more than fair. I ended up canceling the Home Depot installation service and had Salem take care of everything altogether. Full transparency, I shopped around for more quotes after Salem's initial assessment. We even received a cheaper quote from another repairman, but we still decided to go with Salem because of his sincere attitude. It was quite a surprise to me that F&M was bought out by some company called GDI. Of course the 1…read morestar tells you I'm not happy with the new company. In short, they are very overly priced. I had a snapped torsion spring that needed replacement. I called the number on the sticker that F&M left on the garage door. They refused to do estimates over the phone and insisted on sending a tech to take a look. That didn't sound good for me but I agreed since the estimate was free anyway. Keep in mind I did tell them F&M installed the door and that I am requesting a warranty repair. Tech got here and informs me I don't have a warranty. Apparently the F&M invoice didn't specifically warrant the spring so I am out of luck. I was disappointed but I was OK with that. Then he tells me the cost to replace two springs is $495. This sounded outrageous so I sent him off and decided to get a second opinion. Using the Yelp quote request system, I got 6 quotes. All quotes ranged from $290 - $350. If you're following the math, that's 41% higher than the next most expensive. So yeah I'd suggest you stay away
