I saw the great reviews and decided to try this place to alter my vinyl costume (hemming the sides). It's a small shop run by a kind lady, but she doesn't speak English well. The price was on the higher end of the estimates. When I got the costume back the stitching was bunched and uneven at various places with one spot not even sewn together and lots of loose threads I had to trim off myself. Her pricing is very competitive and turnaround time is typically fast, but you do get what you pay for here. She's returned a couple dresses to me with marks on them and when they had something on them, like feather trim or even the hooks above the zipper, it often times came back loose or detached (since she had to remove it to alter and should have sewed it back before returning to me). Most of the time, it's easy to miss when I pick it up (that's on me, I should be more thorough when I pick up) and I'm sure she'd fix it if you asked her, but it's just inconvenient when you expect it to be done well the first time. All in all, I would trust her with more simple alterations, like hemming pants, but wouldn't feel comfortable bringing more nice items here in the future. read more

The alterations themselves are done very well. However, the second time I visited the shop. I took a top in to get hemmed and she charged me $65 which feels like a scam. I would suggest inquiring about the pricing before hand. There are no prices anywhere so she tends to pull a random number out. My partner and I decided to elope over the summer, which meant I needed to find a wedding dress and get it altered to fit just right within the span of 2 months. Guadalupe does great work. I had a vintage dress that started tearing at the arm pits. The fabric was fraying, and I wasn't sure if it was possible to repair, as the arms were already a bit snug. But she was able to take fabric from the waist tie and add it to the torn areas. The repairs are undetectable. I was so impressed! I'll be coming back. read more

She's done everything from hem my pants, to alter a dress for my sister's wedding, to completely reworking a vintage dress I couldn't part with. The best work was done on a gown I had purchased that until week of I realized there was a little sensor that's put on all expensive gown so that it's not worn then returned (intentionally there intended to be taken off by customer ) . Found this place on Yelp. I asked them to shorten the length of my sleeves on a blazer and it was $20.00. Pros: -they do a pretty good job. I was happy with how everything turned out. -the person who helped me was nice. Cons: -my blazer was not ready when they told me that I could pick it up. I had to come back the following day. Luckily I had some flexibility with when I needed this. -you need to climb up stairs to get here so it may not be accessible for everybody. -there may be a little bit of a language barrier. I started coming here in 2020 when I lived in Highland Park. I live more central near Virgil Village/Silverlake and I still make the trip/wake up early to take my clothes here early before work or on the weekend. It is so worth it. I came a Thursday mid-day with two items: a pair of linen pants that need to be hemmed, and a pair of linen overalls that needed to be brought in, hemmed and adjusted in the front. I was quoted an incredibly affordable cost for both items and was promised it would be completed by SATURDAY. Picked them up and couldn't be any happier with the work. Nice little alterations shop. Ripped the crotch of my jeans (don't ask). Figured I'd try to save an otherwise good pair jeans and get them patched. I had a few other pairs that needed to get hemmed so I gave this place a try. Guadalupe is a nice lady, very friendly. The hems were $7/ea and the patch was $12/ea. I thought she did a good job and they were ready when she said they would be. Good job and decent prices. Will be coming back when I need something else altered.
