Went there for the first time on a Saturday morning and was very pleased. Place was not too busy but as we sat there is started to fill up. The menu was very well curated and I settled on the nova platter and my friend has the eggs Benedict. We both throughly enjoyed our choices and didn't leave a morsel on the plate. Lovely friendly service today - even when I explained I had some dietary restrictions. The lady behind the counter went through some options. I got a hot sandwich with fries and - seriously - the best fries I've ever had in this area. They might be hand cut (not frozen). Clean restaurant and open so you can see the kitchen is clean. Price was good for a generous portion, too. Only complaint I have is I would've like the meat more "well done" (which I did ask for) and there was too much cheese but it WAS delicious and I WILL be back! read more

What a wonderful little cafe. Trying to find a place to go for lunch was a lot more challenging then I thought it would be. Went to 3 different cafes and they all had at least a 20 minute waiting time. I walked just a little way up the road and came upon this place. What a wonderful suprise to find a guy with a guitar doing live music inside! The staff was very friendly and inviting. Absolutely no line up and it was only half full which was suprising. They happily substituted my fries for a side salad instead for free. The food was delicious. I ended up having the steak and eggs and they were cooked perfectly. Pretty good! Walked into here on a random Saturday afternoon in July. Two other tables were occupied, kind of empty but service was amazing! Our waitress Tammy was awesome. Four of us were seated right away, drinks and orders taken promptly. I had the kale and quinoa salad, it was good. Had grouper on it, that was really good, tasted fresh, cooked perfectly, good spices. But the fries!!! Yum!! They looked hand cut and we're perfect, hot, crispy, salty, not soggy. No one came over to even explain or say they're sorry. 4 tables who came in after us had left already, and they didn't even offer us a biscuit while waiting. What a fantastic place! The thing about this area that continually throws me off are the strip malls. I am so used to finding lackluster establishments in them that I turn a jaundiced eye whenever I end up at a restaurant in one. Honestly, this was no exception. Nondescript doesn't do it justice. There are 3-5 tables outside. I know how many tables there were, but a couple were set up in front of another business so I couldn't tell who they belonged to. Ok, my anti-strip mall bias is really showing, so I will endeavor to let that go for this review. My friend and I chose this place because it already had a great Yelp standing, they had live music (seriously, during Sunday brunch!), and it was close. Once we arrived, we decided to enjoy the beautiful early December weather and sat outside, completely forgetting about the live music. Our server was very prompt in taking our order and delivering our beverages. They offer $7 bloody Marys and Mimosas or $11 unlimited. How crazy s that! As I was traveling in a couple of hours we both went with the single drink orders. The Bloody Mary was very good, definitely worth the price - doubly (or triply) so if one goes for the bottomless drink. It was interesting talking to our server about the menu. Some of the Benedict's didn't list an English Muffin, which she explained with "too many proofreaders spoil the menu," my words, not hers. THEN I asked about the chicken biscuit, as there was no mention of chicken in the dish description. Her eyes lit up and she got very animated. "Everyone has been asking about that," she said. But before I could say anything, she went into a very detailed description that ended up with me ordering it. My friend ordered an omelet with spinach, avocados, cheese, and mushrooms, but wanted something other than potatoes for a side, so she asked for some fruit. Our server cautioned her it would be only a small dish, and most likely just melon, so we negotiated for honeydew instead of cantaloupe. The wait wasn't unreasonable, although I was very hungry. Our server checked in with us, freshening coffee and explaining an eight-top had ordered just before us and the chef/owner personally cooked every dish. Ok, I had shades of Kitchen Nightmares, but my friend told me to settle down, so I tucked myself back into my spicy tomato libation and waited. Honestly it really wasn't that long and let me tell you, I was freaking blown away! I can't comment on how the omelette tasted, but it looked fantastic (see pics). My chicken biscuit was out-of-this-world. It was a very large, moist, chicken breast that was coated in a mysterious breading. It had a familiar taste, but I finally had to ask. It was coated in, are you ready for this? Frosted Flakes! Yep, what better way to serve chicken for breakfast. I promise you that it is an oddly pleasing breading. If I had any complaint was the wasted biscuit. While it was very nice, between the chicken breading and fantastic potatoes, the biscuit was lost for me. We were both very pleased with our meals and told our server. She, in turn, passed our complements to Scott, the owner. Soon he was standing in front of our table thanking us for our patronage. I think that is a nice touch for the owner to talk to his customers. I like to feel appreciated and to pass along my complements. I've not put any thought into this, but I have in establishments where the owner and/or managers don't talk with customers and many of those places aren't very good. In any case, I can't recommend this place enough. We hit several forgettable places during my weekend visit, but this one would be a favorite no matter where it was located. read more

I love coming to the place for two very basic reasons. The food is always good and it's never overly crowded. It's almost like the crowds have not discovered this gem yet. I love coming for lunch and for Saturday or Sunday brunch. The food has great flavor, taste and good quality. The place is clean and the ambience is nice and relaxing. Don't get distracted by the long lines on other please where the food is not that good but somehow they are popular. How is the eggplant Parmesan at this restaurant better than any eggplant Parmesan I've had at the most authentic Italian restaurants??? All of the food here is very, very tasty. I've only been here for lunch, so I can't speak to the dinner menu. They have really well-priced lunch specials. I'm obsessed with their burgers. I thought that Kirby's had good burgers but these are unbelievable! The owner usually comes out and asks me specifically how I'd like my order prepared, then again, I'm a regular being that I work in this plaza. The location itself can be a pain being that you have to take the bridge (and chance getting stuck at it) if you're coming from the west. The plaza they are located in, Plaza la Mer, is old Florida style and has tons of other cute shops to browse after your meal including 2 thrift stores! There's also a Dunkin' Donuts in the neighboring space. read more

I think they are under staffed; and 14 hour, 7 days a week is too much for this restaurant. My dining partner's poached eggs came out hard boiled, but it would have taken forever to correct. I've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. The quality of the food is excellent. Preparation is top- notch. Just had the fried grouper sandwich - it was excellent. I don't normally eat fried food. The grouper was not the least bit oily or greasy. My wife had coleslaw to accompany her meal - it looked really fresh, and had minimal dressing/mayo. Service is attentive and knowledgeable. My boyfriend and I both ordered eggs that we found to be undercooked with a strange consistency. Additionally, the sausage was quite lackluster with very little taste. Had a late lunch and started out with coffee. Our server, Opal, Ground some beans and served up a really good cup of coffee. Then we had the Crispy Bang Bang Shrimp Taco appetizer. The shrimp were large and drizzled with a spicy sauce which did not overpower the taste of the shrimp. Excellent! For lunch we had their special Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich nad their Crunchy Grouper Sandwich. Both came with perfectly fried hand cut French Fries. Both sandwich's were excellent. The grouper was actually fresh grouper! It came in 3 large fingers, drizzled in Bang Bang sauce with a tropical fruit salsa, lettuce tomato etc. The food is prepared with care and tastes fresh, and simple. It si outstanding Our server was great, the service was excellent and there were nicely arranged fresh flowers on all of the tables. Apparently they also have live music Friday and Saturday nights. Okay. This place is really, really good. Went at 1pm for a late breakfast and from start to finish the staff was so incredibly nice and accommodating. Really, just so freakin nice. Gary came over and gave us awesome food recommendations which we ended up going for. 10/10. Kim, our server, was so sweet and attentive. Even the bus boy was friendly. I know I'm getting repetitive but everyone there was just so NICE. We got the crab cake Benedict and the crunchy biscuit sandwich. Both we so so so good. Flavorful and well made. Had a male waiter today who completely forgot to put our order in, we sat for 30 minutes after ordering before being acknowledged, then another 15 minutes after that before food arrived. We asked for one modification to a menu item and were told they were unable to accommodate. Please get more competent staff because food is always very good. Very bad experience I came here expecting more because of the 4.5 stars but was pretty wrong in my decision. The waitress was very awkward and took about 15 minutes just to come back to the table to take our orders after giving us waters. I ordered the crunchy french toast and it was salty?! Idk if it was the bread or what but how do you screw up french toast?? I also ordered scrambled eggs on the side and when i got it, it had like three slices of cheese slapped on the plate with my eggs on top (I DIDN'T ORDER CHEESEY EGGS) HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN. read more

We've been here a few times and every time the food, wine and service have been spot on! The chef comes out to greet patrons, they've made us stuff off the menu that was incredible, and brought samples by the table. You can also bring your bottle for a cork fee!
