Always super tasty! I love the customizability you can have with all the salad options. The half-size alone is huge and is great as a bowl or a wrap. I got the Paul Bunyan with chicken most recently. I know it's healthy for me, but I am NOT a fan of salads at all. This place has definitely changed that for me and I LOVE their salad bowls. The chicken bacon avocado melt is my current favorite and I recommend it to everyone because it's the best kind of finger food and it's the perfect size to be satisfying. I have to start by saying we truly enjoy Garden Monster's salads. They are so good, you can add a bunch of yummy things ( this usu makes my teen's salad a bit spendy), they accomodate everyone's dietary needs ( vegan, paleo, keto, gluten free, carnivore), they will even put stuff in a flatbread quesadilla kinda thing if you don't feel leafy, and they are usually so nice. My teen and I drove over to the northest part of Portland to look at a potential new home ( can I just say this is a crummy time to be house hunting?) from the outside and ordered salads online for pickup. It was our first outing in three weeks or more. Garden Monsters has a no contact setup where you can order online, park at Plaid Pantry and they will bring it to your car. We were so excited! A young lady (I sound so old) brought us a ripped bag that sorta was holding our salads and a busted open extra dressing. She was not gloved or masked. She looked scared tbh. I think she was supposed to place the bag in our back seat which on her side was loaded with Costco paper towels ( we were delivering them later to a family member). We rolled down the window to tell her to come to my side but at that she quickly thrust the ranchy avocadoey drippy ripped bag at my teen in the front passenger seat and took off. Fortunately, we had said paper towels so we cleaned it up. We went to a nearby park parking lot to eat. My salad was missing its steak. Sigh. Teen shared some chicken. It was good. I facebook messaged them when we got home and got a quick response and they resolved the issue of my salad for us which I appreciated. I internally debated how to write this review. I like them. That girl though, she knew the bag was a mess and handed it to us anyway and she needed some gloves/mask sorta situation for handling food right now. Hopefully this won't happen to anyone else. I was a bit let down after hearing good things about Garden Monsters. We ordered 20 minutes ahead of time and arrived to find they hadn't noticed our order so we had to wait another 15 mins. Salad is life. Salad Monsters is a favorite spot for me because there is just something delightful about their dressings. To be completely transparent: I always order the same item: The Oregon Trail as a wrap, add chicken and hold the tomatoes. The sweet/savory/salty and crunchy goodness of this wrap calls to me in my dreams at night. If I lived closer, I'd eat there daily. I stumbled upon this food cart during the summer and I have not been able to stop craving it. I always get the cobb with chicken and it is made to perfection every single time no matter who is making it. The price is around $19 bucks so yes, its steep for a salad, but the sizing is huge and can easily last a couple days if you get the dressing on the side. If you eat it there their large is even bigger. And im a fan of paying for fresh healthy food. Their staff is friendly enough, and they have the option to order ahead or to do a touch order when you get there so you dont have to speak to anyone if you choose. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It is a huge burrito style wrap. I eat it all in one sitting I think mostly because it's almost all romaine so it's basically water, but the Cesar dressing is flavorful and the chicken is tasty too. Really like their menu and the vegan chicken deserves 5 stars, but I asked for balsamic dressing and the salad tasted like it just had some oil on it... maybe something got forgotten, because I couldn't taste any vinegar at all. They were pretty light on the feta too. My husband ordered a full size and received a half, and they realized they forgot to include the artichokes when we asked them to check if he got charged for the full size... so it wasn't the most satisfying experience but I would still come back to try something else with the vegan chicken in it. Honking large-ass salad. I know I can't be the only one to say that, or am I? I'm certainly not stating anything new to those of you who have eaten at any Garden Monsters location. Granted I also got the larger of the two salads. I gotta figure that even the smaller option is still a decent meal for anyone. Hidden within the food pods on Division is Garden Monsters. I've seen their locations on Alberta and down at the South Waterfront and decided, yeah let me eat healthy today, for a change. Salad is healthy, right? As long as it's not drenched in a cream based dressing. Good thing they had a vinagrette that I liked. So I went with a Cobb salad with turkey and a balsamic vinagrette. Egg, bleu cheese, house made croutons, mixed lettuce, black olives, tomatoes. So far so good on the healthiness, all in one giant metal bowl that could have fed two string bean vegetarians (well besides the whole turkey in the salad thing) or one healthy person like myself. It was done up fast and fresh and the dressing was great. I really liked the croutons and the large chunks of turkey. It was a good choice on this day. The ladies running the cart today were friendly and asked how everything was when I returned the metal bowl. As I said, it's a huge meal, and if you aren't up to the task, stick with the smaller option or try a wrap. Although they could be huge as well..... I'll find that out another time. Enjoy. read more

My friend whos been to Portland and Garden Monsters before and she highly recommended this to me when we visited. I like salads, dont get me wrong, but i can't imagine a salad being THAT good that out of all the Portland restaurants to go, she wanted us to come here and eat a salad. The salads were underwhelming to me and was nothing special. Yes they were good, but they werent life changing and I wish we were ate somewhere else cause I know Portland has so much more to offer. Pros: - They have a great selections of salads to choose from so theres something here for everyone! They also have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options for everyone so i love they had everyone in mind when it came to the menu. Mehs: - I ordered the Colossal Cobb and it was okay. I liked the avocado ranch dressing and the sauce itself was great but the salad was average. I ordered the mini size with is $5 and i added chicken which was an extra $2.50 which i thought was kinda of pricey to add chicken to the smallest bowl they had. I love Garden Monsters! They have such a great salad. Friends have really liked the melts too. (Which are basically big quesadillas.) The Paul Bunyan salad is my favorite. It comes with red potatoes and croutons. I like to get it with the vegan chicken, which is actually a little bit salty on its own but it goes well with any of the salads. I'm dairy free and am really happy that they have a fabulous vegan cesar dressing AND the vegan Santa Fe dressing is also really good. They offer melts in vegan too! It's way better to dine "in" (it's an outdoor food cart pod with seating) because the salads come in a big metal bowl instead of to-go when it comes in a big plastic bowl. He didn't say one word to him. When a white male walked up, he greeted him right away. When my husband mentioned it to him, he flippantly said that he "didn't see him." The first time we came, the worker said he'd be back in 30 minutes because he had to prep because apparently he was the only one working. Interestingly, we left but decided to come back the next day. Here are my thoughts about the salad we ordered: Food: My girlfriend and I ordered the Paul Bunyan, and replaced the onions with tomatoes. Instead of the recommended blue cheese dressing, we choose the avocado ranch. The dressing and salad itself were average. The romaine lettuce and spinach weren't as cold as I would have liked it to be. I've had better salads compared to this one. Maybe I didn't get one of their better salads, but I wouldn't mind giving Garden Monsters another chance. In addition, I believe $11 for an average salad isn't worth it. If it was cheaper, then I'd give it a higher rating. Next time, I'll order the smaller salad. I would recommend Garden Monsters if you're looking for a salad/salad wrap that does the job, and it does make you feel healthier. read more
