Me and my boyfriend were passing through Portland and looking for a place to eat a quick lunch. We decided on Fatsos because the pictures looked amazing. The owner and his wife greeted us when we came in and we ordered an RBC and a Chicken Asiago which were delicious! We were so excited to eat that we forgot to take pictures! The owner was chatting with us and told us the Chicken Asiago is his best seller. He also gave us free samples of his award-winning Texas Chili and Jalapeno Popper Soup which were phenomenal (I immediately switched my side salad to the 50/50 chili and soup after trying it). He was so, so friendly and had an absolutely infectious passion for food! His food is gluten-free, seed-oil free, and sugar-free so it's a great option for people with celiac disease or other similar food sensitivities! He even gave us a sample of his healthy sugar alternative, Monk Fruit sweetener (which we regrettably forgot to take with us when we left). All I can say is WOW! The food is so fresh and made with care. It tastes like home! The owner is very kind and thoughtful. I had an insane craving for sandwiches and this was the first place that popped up on yelp that look appealing. I called the store 30 minutes before closing not expecting anything, but to my surprise I received a text back saying they are open for orders still. I came in 20 minutes before closing and the owner was so excited to serve me. I wasn't expecting much coming in right before closing, but to my surprise I received amazing customer service. The owner talked to me about his keto menu and recommended some options for me. I ended up getting the Grinder sandwich which was served on a waffle style gluten free bun??? Not sure if bun is the right word but imagine eating a waffle with deli meat. It was so freaking good and filling. Fatso was also kind enough to let me try his desert options. I had a peanut butter chocolate bar and the cheesecake fluff. The fluff was so refreshing and light, by far my favorite dessert. My whole meal just felt healthy and filling. I took my meal to the river and spent an amazing evening by the water with my delicious food. Fatso and his wife were so nice to me. I enjoyed their southern comfort and our conversations. The food was a little less than mediocre. I'm surprised to see the food truck has a 4.8 rating with how the food tasted. The jalapeño popper soup tasted nothing like what I thought it would. It was bitter and sour. The outer taco shell was made of egg and cheese which was ok, the meats were definitely lacking flavor. The two people working were nice, and food was done super quick. There were a handful of us that ate from here and not one of us really cared much for what we got. WOW!! I was looking for a gluten free sandwich and was absolutely blown away. The owner John is such a kind and welcoming person. I was able to share celiac stories and chat about the business. Fatsos Cheketos drove out to Ashland to serve food at the Jazz in the Park at lithia. They provided a small menu with three meals to choose from with 3 different possible sides, and 2 salads. The simplicity made it an easy choice while still providing a variety of options. The hamburger had a large patty, lettuce, tomato, Mayo and mustard on a "Chaffle" (cheese and egg waffle) in order to stick with their keto theme. The bun provided a unique take on a classic while also tasting like a genuine nostalgic burger. The chaffle was light and fluffy and I may have preferred it to a regular waffle. The side I chose was chili, which comes in a very small container, however given how large the burger is, it was appropriate. Fatsos showed up to my dealership last Thursday and I was stoked there was a food truck I could eat out at. The food is amazing, it is clean and extremely fresh. The owner is an amazing chef, and you can tell he puts his heart and soul into his cooking. He has a true passion for the art. I brought over a couple co workers that are not even on keto and they loved the food as well. Ontop of the food being amazing, the customer service is outstanding. We hired Fatso's for our Company Summer Picnic for 275 people. He was wonderfully helpful, super nice and even brought his truck to assist in the facilitating with the food prep..... but what we paid for wasn't what was delivered. Our confirmed order was supposed to be ribs, brisket, chicken and sausage plus four sides, green salad, jicama salad, broccoli w/ cheese and Texas chili order. Hotdogs were substituted for sausages; no jicama salad - that was a no show all together but substituted sauteed veggies and didn't even ask or communicate the menu change before the event. Worst part was, we basically ran out of the side dishes before the event was completed. One dish of mixed veggies and 2 dishes of broccoli and few bowls of salad wasn't even close to feeding everyone for our event. Our confirmed head count was 220 of 275 people showed - and we ran out of all side dishes, salad dressings, BBQ sauce, and all we had left was meat. Additionally, we were disappointed there wasn't any additional Fatso's staff in keeping the dishes filled during food service. As event coordinators, we had to continue to remind them for additional food and refills. His prices were the best in town but would have gladly spent more for the additional items and help. I have to say the Texas chili and the chicken was the favorite of everyone at the event. They were a crowd pleaser. read more
