I made a reservation for Garabaldi's for my anniversary and the ambience set the tone just like I wanted. It was very cutesy, dark and romantic. Our waiter was very soft spoken, yet friendly and knowledgeable. I had the fried snapper, which was absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed my espresso martinis. Definitely make reservations and plan accordingly for parking.

Upon walking in, we were greeted enthusiastically. It was refreshing. Our server was promptly at our table to get our dinner experience underway! Executive Chef Gerald Green made the visit even more special by personally preparing my dessert and bringing it upstairs. The Almond Berry Basket with Cinnamon Ice Cream was delicious and beautiful! For my main course, I experienced the Chrispy Diamond Scored Flounder! This was a fantastic choice that I recommend! The upstairs was beautifully decorated and perfect for date night!

We had a reservation at a different restaurant but ended up being there almost an hour before we were even brought any water or drinks. We left and ended up at Garibaldi's! They were able to seat our party of 8 with short notice. Our server, Drew, was awesome! He was knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. The food and drinks were great as well. I had the seared sea scallops, which were perfectly cooked and served with a risotto. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food and experience.

It's always an enjoyable evening at Garibaldis. Great food, classic cocktails, lovely upscale restaurant. My favorite starter is their Olive Bowl with Mediterranean olives and a Tunisian olive mix. Yummy. For the dinner entree I opted for the 5 Layer Lasagna of mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, veal, beef and Italian sausage and their marinara - decadent! I really stepped out of my box by ordering the Lasagna as my standard order at Garibaldis is their Crispy Scored flounder. Thankfully, my son shared a bit of his, and as always, it was delicious! In a side note, if you're wanting to entertain a large group/party/dinner Garibaldis has a gorgeous mirrored room upstairs for your fabulous event. Can't wait to return!

This meal was the highlight of our New Year's Eve! Our waitress Clara was so sweet and helpful with us, selecting the perfect food. We had the stone, crab claws, fried oysters, raw oysters, the halibut special, and the lobster special. All along with a bottle of champagne and a complementary crème brûlée to congratulate us on our recent engagement. Such a memorable meal I would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Savannah.

Garibaldis is chic, gorgeous inside, has genuinely good service and the food is phenomenal! I am so happy my friend took me here this stay! She said it was her favorite spot and it's now mine too! You have to sit upstairs, the bottom doesn't do the place justice even though it's really nice. Very swanky! ;-) We ordered the chicken piccata to share with the mushroom risotto, and had two salads! Our tab was so affordable! I could y believe it. The Mushroom risotto is a MUST- it's pure butter in your mouth and sooo rich and good! A few bites is all you need. The salads were massive! I had the artichoke salad which was huge and they split our entree for us without us having to ask. This place is very underrated! 5 stars all around and such a great date night!

Fantastic food and excellent service (Avery). Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Highly recommend! Loved the romantic setting, warm and glowing with class!

This was our first visit, and it has a nice, upscale, yet comfortable ambience. We were seated at a cozy, upholstered bench seat table for two. The seat cushion definitely needed to be replaced as it was worn out and not too comfortable. For starters, I had a cup of jambalaya (really spicy, but good), she had the poached pear salad and loved it. For entrées, she went with the Carbonara and I had the Chicken Parmesan. Her Carbonara was tasty, but we both thought it would be better with either spaghetti or fettuccine noodles versus the shell noodles. My Chicken Parmesan was very average tasting. Menu is a little on the pricier side. Arnold did an excellent job serving us!

Would I be out of place to wear a suit jacket?

No you'd be fine. It's a romantic place and folks wear nice clothes. We saw quite a few jackets (including my husband's) when we were there.

Is this a good place for an early date? Her favorite food is Italian

Garibaldi's is a very good restaurant but i wouldn't recommend it for Italian food. It's more of a seafood place. For Italian, I'd go to Corleone's, which is nearby.

Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

It was giving chain restaurant a little more than I expected. We tried the grilled oyster sampler, and while they all looked slightly different, somehow they all tasted like variations of Rockefeller. I could not tell you which was which. The she-crab soup? Absolutely not. Zero flavor. I took one bite and sent it back, and I rarely send food back. The shrimp & grits were... interesting. Very sweet, very corn-forward, and the texture was more porridge/cream of wheat than the thick, savory grits I had in mind. Was it terrible? No. On a rainy day, I could actually see myself eating a bowl of it. But if you tell me shrimp & grits, my mouth has already prepared for something completely different. Now--the fried green tomatoes? THAT was the star. Crispy, topped with a little crab salad and this hot sauce that pulled the whole thing together. The crab cakes were pretty solid too, especially with the two sauces, and the collard greens were tender and well done. Overall, I'd come back for lunch, oysters, drinks and a few appetizers. But dinner reservation? I'm not jumping through hoops. Savannah has too many really good restaurants for that. 3/5 -- cute, fun, a few hits, but the food needed a little more love.

I asked and was told they'd play it, but then after sitting and ordering I'm told they lost the remote so the game is only on a tiny TV on the opposite side of the bar where there is no high top seating. I wouldn't dock a single star for that though. The reason for the one star is that the food is terrible and grossly overpriced. The lobster soup was the best of all we ordered and it was pretty mediocre. No sherry, cream, nor lobster to be found. The tuna was the worst I've ever had and should not be served. Really I should've sent it back, but my son dug in first and ate two pieces, so I felt bad sending it back. I begrudgingly ate my two pieces while my wife only had one. The deviled eggs had overcooked shrimp and a spec of prosciutto. The crab cake was tiny and mediocre. Finally, the mahi dish was maybe a 3 ounce portion with bits of pineapple scattered around basic orzo pasta. The fact that the majority of the few patrons there all ordered fried chicken and Mac n cheese should've been a hint. The restaurant may be by the water, but they are NOT a seafood restaurant. Oh and they charged me 4 extra dollars for "rocks" since I ordered Bourbon on the rocks. We had a shit meal and two drinks each for $175!!! Truly one of the worst dining experiences that I've ever had.

There were a good number of shrimp in the serving. The Crab Cake Sandwich was good. It was not as full of lump crab meat as other crab cakes that we've had elsewhere. The Catfish Fingers were large pieces of catfish that were lightly fried. The Shrimp Poboy was satisfying. The Parmesan Garlic Grits were disappointing. There was no hint of garlic or parmesan flavor. Our server tried to rectify the situation by adding cheddar cheese to it. Fortunately, the Beignets were as good as we expected. Huey's is the only place outside of New Orleans where we have found authentic New Orleans beignets. Our server Jenelle was very friendly. At some point, something frazzled her because she seemed flustered and rattled by the time we were ready to leave. We had asked her for silverware for our beignets. It took her so long that my partner got up to get some from another table themselves because we were tired of waiting. When I asked for the check, she gave me the wrong check. She went in the back to fix it and had my debit card. She came back without the card to ask me for my zip code to finish the transaction.
