    Rubber chicken
    Kim M.

6 of us ladies came here for New Year's Eve.... We arrived at 5;30 and waited 45-50 minutes after we ordered to receive our food. 1 dish- chicken della casa was served very much cold... another chicken dish - fettuccine Victoria- chicken was chewy and rubbery- I needed a knife, a third dish the pesto on the ravioli separated from the oil otherwise the ravioli were tasty but swimming in oil. They offered a free desert- ice cream and berries good- cobbler was like pastie dough. The one dish that was good was the cappellini shrimp and scallops. Also chicken Marsala was good (not great) Unfortunately- very disappointing night.

Great Italian. Yes, its true-- the garlic bread is a must. I ordered the angel hair pasta. It was light and delicious.

Best Italian food in town by far. A little expensive but they give you plenty of food to make up for it.

Wonderful food but the owner/chef and assistant do not wear masks, even whine entering the dining area.

Needless to say, they have room for special events and private parties. So if you are looking for a venue keep them in mind. The Prime Rib was outstanding. Indeed, it was the best Prime Rib I have had in a very long time. Our waiter and the Maitre de were outstanding. They made us all feel so welcome and almost like we were family. We all are still raving about the Prime Rib. There is something so wonderful about a place treating you like family. The human connection is something we all want. It is so awesome to feel appreciated and connected to our world and others. The staff here were outstanding. Everyone commented on the service we received. The appetizers and salads were tasty. The family members who had the salmon said it was excellent. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Portions are generous. All of us remarked on how good the food was. Not to mention, the price was right. The ambiance might be a little lacking. There are no tablecloths. However, keep in mind that tablecloths come with a cost of their own. They need to be laundered and then some need to be replaced. So there would be an added cost. So the question is would you prefer a little more ambiance or a cheaper price for an excellent meal? However, if you are looking for excellent service with delicious food at a reasonable price then this is the place for you. Not to mention, that the drive to Carson is beautiful. Plus there are plenty of things to do in Carson to enjoy. Perhaps it is time to beckon back to a slower pace of life. Take a nostalgic trip to Carson to see the Capitol all decorated for Christmas. Stop in at the Nugget and enjoy a dinner at the steakhouse. I wish I could remember the name of the Maitre de and Waiter I hope that management sees this review and gives the KUDOS and a big SHOUTOUT for delivering such great service. THANK YOU BOTh from my family.

We were told that the chef was on vacation. Should have just left then. Then after being seated and given menus, they came and took them back and gave us this paper revised menu since the head chef was out. Our actual waitress was Chelsea and she was fantastic. If not for her, I would give 0 stars if possible. The restaurant itself we really did not get to see much as we were tucked away in the 1st dining area by the entrance. No worries. It was nice and quaint inside and that's about where it stopped!! I asked about bread, and a different lady brought us 2 rolls that were barely room temp. Basically went from bag to bowl. We ordered our prime rib medium. As anything over that gets tough. We also ordered it with broccoli and when it arrived it had inedible asparagus. I mean they were so fibrous we could barely cut through them. Chelsea apologized and brough us out some broccoli on the side, and just like the rolls, it was barely room temp. Not her fault by no means. Now onto the very overly cooked prime rib. There was 0 pink in it. It was well done and very tough. It was also barely 1/4 inch thick. I mean the thinnest prime rib I have ever seen for supposedly being a 9oz. I have had 8oz at other restaurants twice the size of what we were served.. I managed to cut a couple pieces for my husband to eat. I dd not eat any of it. Basically we sent the majority of it back when we left. The only plus thing about this visit was the mashed potatoes and gravy. Still luke warm at best. I ate about 3 bites of food and was done with it. It was the worst prime rib I have ever seen/tasted in my life. Now Chelsea went and got our receipt for us, which of course was no charge, but if it was, I would have never paid 22.99 for what we received. It was that bad. Chelsea apologized several times and like we told her, you do not control what comes out on these plates. So yes she did get a nice cash tip for being such a sweet waitress and trying to do what she could. As far as the restaurant, we will not be going back for anything there. It is also only open Friday and Saturday from 4-close. I came home and made a sandwich for my now late dinner!

While I believe in supporting local services, true professional accountability requires consistency and respect--even when receiving constructive feedback. My primary concern stems from how client input is handled behind the scenes. When a fair review is posted, it is met with a courteous response here on public review platforms, yet taken as a screenshot and posted to the owner's (Jim Palan) personal Facebook page to complain publicly about the customer. Using client feedback as content for personal social media commentary, rather than addressing the core issue directly, undermines trust. Constructive criticism is an opportunity for operational growth, not public conflict. I hope the team chooses to handle future customer input with the consistency, discretion, and professional grace that customers deserve. Mocking someone for using a tape measure isn't the flex people think it is--it just reveals a tolerance for getting less than what was paid for. When I write a review, I prefer objective facts over guesswork. The pizza was objectively undersized. Sorry that basic geometry offends your feelings.

On this occasion, we were celebrating the birthday of a close friend. Our party of 10 had plenty of room in one of the back rooms with gorgeous views out the windows. We started the evening with a healthy round of appetizers, including Calamari, Roast Duck and a plate of Mussels. While I didn't partake in the Mussels, I will say the Calamari was good but the Roast Duck was truly amazing. Such great flavor, cooked to a tender doneness and topped with a sweet sauce. The bread roll that preceded the appetizers was something special. Warm and wrapped in paper, it was like opening a Christmas present. The bread was soft, warm and delicious. Seriously good. I ordered a Prime Rib, one of the evenings specials. It was a generous portion, served with potatoes and veggies. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly (Medium Rare ofcourse) with the right amount of marbleing and seasoning. This was perhaps one of the best, most flavorful Prime Ribs I have had in recent memory. My wife ordered the Macadamia Crusted Sea Bass. The fish was breaded and topped with the delicious Macadamia nuts. The fish was light and flaky with a wonderful outer snap. A perfect blend of textures and flavors. I would definitely order this again. My friends mother ordered the Lobster and Filet, Glen Eagle's version of Surf and Turf. I don't know if she realized just how big a 1 1/2 pound (24oz) Lobster really was. This thing was HUGE. Like some giant sea creature. The Filet while a generouse portion, looked puny by comparison. She said the Lobster was a amazing but in full transparency, most of it when home. :-) We had a big party and the restaurant was quite full by the time we left. This did not deter our server nor the bus staff. The staff was attentive, ensuring our waters and drinks were always full. With the orders of appetizers, it felt like there was a steady stream of food. Never felt like we ever waited. I know understand why Glen Eagle's is a favorite amoungst the locals, atleast those in the know. If you get a chance to visit Carson City, be sure to make time to dine at Glen Eagle's.
