They got our order completely wrong and unfortunately we did not notice until we got home. We specifically went here because they have calzones. Yet when I got home there was no calzone. They made a pizza with the calzone ingredients I requested. I did not come here for pizza. I also ordered lasagna but what they gave me was not a slice of lasagna, it was pasta with sauce and cheese. It was not sheets of lasagna pasta. Also, the online menu says lasagna comes with breadsticks, but we did not receive any breadsticks. I called on the phone but maybe ordering online would be better so they see what you ordered in writing. There seemed to be a language barrier on the phone but how in the world they don't understand the words "calzone" and "lasagna" when they are on their menu and you say both repeatedly is beyond me. I had to repeat myself several times on the phone and yet they still don't seem to have understood what I was ordering. What I ordered: calzone, lasagna, and California chicken pizza. What I got: two pizzas and a bowl of pasta. If you go here, check your order before you leave. Order online. I'm so happy I didn't blindly tip like I often do. We ordered pizza here last night for my sons birthday. The King Kong pizza is amazing, it's fun just to order due to its size. We had many different items ordered and all were done perfectly. Pepperoni pizzas were great, garlic bread loaf was great, cheesy ranch sticks were great, pesto pizza was great, everything tasted fantastic. This guy has great deals on great pizza and wings. Love that he has garlic bread. Also has really good great salad. Prices competitive with the chains, and pick up time is usually very quick. For a family birthday a few weeks ago, we decided to get pizza. For the "grown-up" pizzas - we decided to order from Garlex. And I'm glad we did! I called and the gentleman who picked up advised me on the options as well as on how much I should order - "For a party of ten, two large or three medium should be enough." I liked that he didn't try to oversell us, and ordered one extra large chicken pesto pizza and one extra large vegetarian pizza. "It will be ready in 25 minutes," he said, confidently. About half an hour later, I picked up two piping hot pizzas - each was about $25. The van smelled divine as I drove back home and it took all my willpower to not lean over and grab a slice (or two!). The Fam attacked when I walked in through the garage door. Both pizzas were delicious - there was something for everyone. Most folks preferred the chicken pesto - generously topped with chicken, mushrooms, red onions, green bell peppers, and fresh tomatoes. The missus and I leaned more towards the veggie pizza - perfectly baked, with olives, mushrooms, red onions, green bell peppers, and fresh tomatoes. We used to order Garlex regularly several years ago and loved it! Crispy fresh garlic on top, crispy crust, lots of yummy toppings. Once it changed hands it was disappointing so we stopped. Today we decided to try it again... The crust is thin and doughy with only the very thin edge crisped and No Flavor. Only a fraction of the usual toppings covered in cheese all Completely Tasteless. Okay - I've been back and forth on Garlex for a bit. I'm not sure what has changed lately or if I'm revisiting it at the right time. I lived my high school years on this pizza. My mom (doing well now) had a chronic illness and was in and out of the hospital. My dad worked all the time, and I helped out my mom. Therefore, once or twice a week, we ordered Garlex. And we loved it! It was almost as good as home cooking to us. Then I moved away, and I was a bit sad when I tried it again - it had changed, but now it's back again. My family usually visits my parents in Pleasanton once a week. One day, my mom got a mailer from Garlex and suggested we try it, and we did. The sauce was good, but the ingredients were much better - the Combo had a fantastic balance of meat and veggies. The sausage reminds me of the kind that my full-blooded Italian mother-in-law mixes at their Italian shop (it's a thing!) with Italian herbs and a bit of fennel. The other meats are great too. Then, it's loaded with red onion, black olives, and green pepper. It is delicious. It reminds me of the good pizzas the old shops used to make. Truly enjoyable. read more

I was excited to try this place. I live super close and was super hungry, so I was ready to spend. I was going to get a pizza, wings, ribs, and garlic bread. I showed up at 630pm, and the sign said they are open and online it says they close at 8-830 ( I can't remember), and I get in, and it looks deserted. I wait for like 10 minutes and then ring the bell. After a few minutes, someone comes and says they are closed....lol. Then why is the door open, and the sign still says opened. Prefacing this review as me strictly as a doordasher picking up an order. In over 1900 doordash pick-ups, I've never seen such a ride manager. When I arrived two minutes before the pick-up time, he said it would be another 10-15 minutes as it was a large order. 11 minutes later I go back in to check and he just starts yelling. Mind you it is very slow with them, nothing visible in the oven or anything. Refuses to give me an update. I notify doordash at this point as he's being rude. They call to get an update and he starts screaming over the phone at him, then yelling at the one other worker, intentionally loudly so I can hear it. To top it off, the absolute cherry on this sundae is despite county regulations that all employees must wear a mask, he wasn't. So I went from this smells good, may be a pick-up option after I'm done for dinner to I'll never patronize this place again. Edit to respond to their blatant lies. 1. The arrival was 2 minutes before the time doordash told me that the order would be ready. You said an additional 10-15 minutes. I come back in 12 minutes later and start screaming. I asked once if it's going to be longer than another five minutes. You refused to answer so I notified doordash so they would be aware. The drivers picking up these orders are your customers by proxy. By treating us poorly and yelling when all we are doing is trying to get an updated ETA so we can inform the customer that is paying, you are flat out saying that customers that order your food via doordash are less than those who call in and pick up on their own. If doordash is sending drivers too early, it is YOUR responsibility to make adjustments on the tablet doordash issued you. All screaming at us does is make us less likely to access orders from your business, increasing the risk no one picks it up your orders, increasing your food loss costs. read more

Ordered from Garlex for the first time in over 20 years. It is apparent the ownership has changed. I placed on online order at 6:25pm. At 8:00 I called to check on the status. I was given a story about the driver having car trouble. I asked if he had a cell phone to communicate that he would be late? No answer. I was told he could be here in about 20 minutes. I was not interested in a 2 hour old pizza, so I asked to cancel the order. I was basically told no. So I told them I'd just cancel the charge through my bank and hung up. They called me back and offered me a free item. Interesting since the driver was already out there with car trouble, right? Lol. I read Yelp. I believe they never even saw my order. Garlex used to be my go to until we moved. I was in the area recently and remembered my favorite pizza the Pesto Perfecto and I just had to have one. After eating a slice I realized this was no longer the pizza I used to love. The pizza which used to have a green color to it wasn't green at all. For the first time, I've ordered Medium Chicken Tandoori Pizza (for pickup) and it was simply delicious. When I ordered, I was told that it will be ready in 30 minutes, sure enough it was ready in 30 and of course all the expected toppings. Customer service by Omar was outstanding. This pizza place, I've been going to since high school. Honestly they have really good pizza. Their fried foods can improve a little but pizza is pretty good. Now they have a little thing in the corner that has Indian food. The personal size pizza's are extremely worth the money. Less than seven bucks is ridiculous good. This was the grossest pizza I ever had. It was completely rubbery and the toppings tasted rancid. The pizza took an hour and 10 minutes to get here. After tasting the pizza we called back and asked for our money back. The manager was very rude and said since there was more than 1 piece eaten he couldn't refund our money that he would give us a 30% coupon for next time. Why would we ever go back?
