I've been to Porky's many times. For casual meals with the family, for networking events, to watch sports. The food is good, the beer selection as awesome and the atmosphere is super casual and fun. It can get a little noisy at times, but there's plenty of outdoor seating for more quiet. What I like best about it is that it really feels like you're going to a place that treats its employees and its customers like family. I'm not a big reviewer, but I felt compelled to share my last experience with Porky's. After ordering, I stopped by the ladies room before going to get a beer. One of the stalls was out of toilet paper and all I could think about was that Seinfeld episode. Wanting to help someone avoid an embarrassing situation, I went to the counter to let them know. The person I tried to tell was kind of rude and waved me off. It was really weird because every other interaction I've ever had with employees there is best described as hospitality instead of just service. I was going to shrug it off. Everyone has off nights, but it was just so out of character for this place I felt I had to say something. I submitted an online comment via their website and figured that was that. Two days later, I got a phone call from Patsy. She was appreciative that I brought it up, asked for more details and promised a follow up. A few days after that, I got a very nice handwritten card from her letting me know they had worked with the employee, who was sorry and was just having an off day. My own mother doesn't send me handwritten cards anymore. I was never going to write the place off after a single incident, but this kind of care for people means I will always keep this place in rotation when the "what do you want for dinner?" We have stopped in many times after work and not once disappointed. Pizza is always hot and fresh. Food comes out very quickly after ordering. Pizza has always been a favorite but their chicken wings are hot and crispy . The seating area is always clean and ready for use. There are numerous televisions so whatever sports event is on you will not miss one play. I have to say I have encountered and experienced the best customer service all employees greet you and assist when needed. I was looking for a place to catch a game with a friend so we ended up here. There are a ton of TVs, a great place if you want to watch a game with friends while getting a bite to eat! It is very spacious, they have a full bar, a patio, a great set up! We got started with some mozzarella sticks and then got into a chicken garlic supreme pizza. Both were tasty and we were happy. I've heard the fried chicken is tasty too, we'll have to try that next time. THICK CRUST PIZZA I LIKE For pizza I believe the crust is the most important aspect. Even though I prefer thin crust pizzas I can enjoy thick crust pizzas like Chicago-style deep dish pizza. For normal pizzas I don't like thick crust because it can be dense especially the end crust, which a lot of people as myself don't eat. The first time I ate here was for my cousin's birthday in 2019 during March Madness. I came back to Porky's Pizza two weeks ago for his two sons' birthday. My cousin prefers thick crust pizzas. He ordered several pizzas: all-meat, chicken pesto gourmet, and margherita. The one aspect I like about the thick crust from Porky's Pizza is the end crust is airy and light. When the crust of the pizza is dense, I could only eat two slices of pizza at the most. I enjoyed the thick crust at Porky's Pizza so much that I ate more than two slices of pizza. If the crust is good, so are the toppings. Out of the pizzas that were ordered the all-meat was my favorite as it as savory but not salty. I also liked the margherita as you can taste the basil. The chicken pesto gourmet was the only pizza I didn't not enjoy even though most of my relatives liked that pizza. However I really liked the fried chicken at Porky's Pizza. If my cousin throws a party at Porky's Pizza I know that I will enjoy the thick crust pizzas. read more

Another Porky's in the Bay Area but this Pleasanton location is bigger and busier! It's deep in when you exit from the freeway but people still found the place. Plenty of tables and outdoor seating. I can say this place is great for a party or after a kids game. Perks for the adults are the many TV's to watch the game while the kiddos eat and hang out. Their service is mediocre as it's busy but I see so many employees standing around chatting than working. At least, you get a number for when they find you to give your order. No table service. We like their chicken but I like their pizza more. They fill the pizza with ingredients and are not stingy. Great with ranch of course. Zucchini sticks are great as well as their potato wedges. Sodas are made right and not just syrup taste. I need the carbonation. Haven't had their beers or drinks yet but next time. Still funny to me their call this a palace?! Great staff great service. I've ordered their pizzas before. The smalls to larges look like the first picture I included from a previous review from another yelper. That pizza looks dope. Don't get the personal pizza, the second pic is what I got when I ordered the lunch special. When I got home I thought there was a mistake, where was the puffy crust? What I got was a flat sad crust that was as sad as my Saturday nights in high school. Worse yet it wasn't cooked long enough. I actually drove back and the staff said no that's how the personals are supposed to look. They offered to cook it a bit longer, but it was already cut so it'll just be a mess. So I went home and ate my sad personal pizza that reminded me of my sad high school years. Great amount of toppings...the dough made me feel like I got pizza catfished. The staff are so attentive with ensuring we had everything we needed and clearing away dishes to make space. If you're interested in ordering alcoholic beverages, you will want to head the bar counter. When it's extremely busy, ordering beer or simple drinks would speed things up for everyone. If you want the authentic white trash trailer family food experience, this is the place to be! Nothing but kids running all over the place, with the parents doing nothing about it. It feels very dirty, it's very hot in there, couldn't feel any air conditioning. The pizza, (even though I would assume is fresh considering when you enter the place you see everyone working in the kitchen), tastes like frozen pizza. It really is just the most "meh" slice of pizza you can get. Despite my warnings, my family wanted to give this place another chance, they had pizza and I ordered the fried chicken, and it tasted decent, but it's dry and solid as a rock (and expensive as hell!). When we left, my family agreed that we would never go here again. The only good thing here to eat are the breadsticks, as well as the mozzarella sticks. But those mozzarella sticks are 100% frozen. If you want a big box of pizza, just go to Costco. You'd get a significantly much better slice and at a much much better price. The pricing of this place is just awful for the quality of food that you're getting. I feel like I'm going crazy seeing all of these positive reviews because everyone I've talked to about this place agrees that it sucks. read more

We have a traditional annual get-together with Bay Area friends here. The menu features fried chicken along with pizza. This trip we ordered an appetizer sampler of various fried goodies. It was good. I ordered the all-meat pizza with peppers. The peppers were sliced so thin that it looked like the pizza was covered with burnt hair. It tasted fine but did not look very pretty. They were also stingy with the cheese and sauce. It was very busy with lots of kids in the arcade area, but the soda fountain needed a thorough cleaning. We'll be back next year read more

Time to update my review. I previously mentioned the Fantastic craft beer menu, the great fried chicken and the really good pizza. The more I spend with my nieces in the area, I realize that place is in the area like this are becoming more and more rare. This place is just really family friendly and it's great to know that there's places like this in the neighborhood. With great friendly service to boot. I also recently got to try some of their combination pizza made on the gluten-free cauliflower crust. I seriously love this pizza. Great ratio of the different toppings for that combination style pizza that I miss getting growing up. The cross is nice and crispy too, so it has a great crunch with each bite and you get all the flavors of the toppings with the thin crust. Porky's used to be a go to restaurant for us but lately it's hit or miss, mostly miss. Chicken has been under cooked but potato wedges are always good. Went there recently and sat out on the patio. Had the chicken and jojos this time since I was on a quest to show my kids the different styles of fried chicken in town. The chicken was great, but the jojos lacked seasoning. I loved the coleslaw. We also got a pizza, which came out long before the chicken and jojos, surprisingly. But nonetheless, it was good as well. The service was really good. I've lived in Pleasanton for almost 30 years and I have seen this building have so many businesses come and go, but I've lost track of what was actually there lastI think it was a religious bookstore, then it became a used bookstore, at one time, it was some sort of Asian or Indian food, so they've tried everything here from soup the nuts as the thing goes. Not one single business made it and they had to shut down. But the only reason that happened is because they did not know how to do what these guys at Porky's are doing. They refurbished the whole place and when you walk inside if it's your first time there since it used to be a bookstore or whatever, you will be pleasantly surprised. I love walking in the front door and immediately looking to my right and seeing the chefs back there making fresh pizza and fresh pasta and spaghetti and it's just wonderful. I usually have them deliver but I really did want to see the inside so I went there a couple weeks ago to check it out. I have never had an order go wrong and I've never had anything that I don't like from there. I'm a huge fan of the regular cheese pizza Because that thing is art and beauty and everything I want in a pizza. I'm almost afraid to eat it because it just looks so good, but if you saw my belly, you would know that I don't skip a meal. Ha ha! I try to make it a point to list one negative with every review. I write because it can't be perfect everywhere. So when I come to this type of situation where I need to write one bad thing that's very minor. I already mentioned it, but I wouldn't even worry about it because it's nothing. I just love Porky's. It is the penultimate family pizza parlor only with great beer and fried chicken!! The service is so friendly--they hire local kids from the middle schools and high schools as well as some really seasoned professionals. The pizza is excellent: old school medium thickness crust, but you can order thin crust or thick style, if that's your jam. We ordered a mushroom, red onion and sausage--it was so delicious with plenty of toppings. The fried chicken steals the show: its crispy on the outside and incredibly moist in the middle and not greasy at all. The beer selection is on point with some of the hardest to find IPAs, lagers and ales from the best local microbreweries. And, they have cocktails! Porkys hosted a party for us with 130 people. They did such a great job and we had plenty of space. Even though it was 43 degrees outside the patio was nice and warm with all the heaters. I've been here twice. The first time was okay, we got pizza which was pretty average so nothing special. The second time however, I got the half spaghetti and half ravioli. When it came out, I was seriously disappointed. The pasta is definitely frozen or from the grocery store. I definitely could've made this myself and it probably would've been better.
