I cannot believe this so called pizza shop is still in business. This has got to be one of the worst, I take that back the worst pizzas I ever tasted and I say tasted because I never ate it I spit it out and rinsed my mouth out. I spent $70 plus dollars on 2 medium pizzas and when they arrived and I saw them I was not impressed. I went to pick up a piece of the meat lovers pie and everything on the crust slid right off into the box. So I wanted to still see what it tasted like so I spooned it up and tasted it only to spit it out into a napkin and went and rinsed my mouth out. So disgusting and greasy it should have been served in a bowl as soup not anything like pizza should be. We called to talk to the manager 5 times and it just so happens he was never there and never called us back to discuss the issue. So I guess ripping people off is standard for this place if you read all the reviews and if you are smart you will if you are thinking about eating there. We finally just wrote it off figuring they must really need the money to treat people so bad and serve such dog food. This is a small town pizza shop and I do not even want to address it as one but for the review I will. If you are thinking of doing business there first read the reviews and remember you will not be compensated for horrible food. I hate writing harsh reviews like this, but this was truthfully one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. The dough and crust were almost completely flavorless, and overall the pizza itself was incredibly bland. The crust was very thick, and even the pepperoni slices were cut unusually thick, which made the overall texture feel heavy. Like many other reviewers have mentioned, the toppings tasted like they were barely cooked and simply placed on top as an afterthought. They fall right off when you pick up the slice. To be completely honest, it reminded me of a frozen pizza you could buy at the grocery store. The difference is that this one cost nearly $40 after tax for a medium pizza. What made the experience even more disappointing was the wait. It took about 30 to 35 minutes for a single pizza. If the food had been outstanding, the wait would have been understandable because fresh pizza takes time. Unfortunately, the end result tasted more like cardboard with toppings on it. Our server was very nice and friendly, but after taking our order, we hardly saw them again for the rest of the meal. I genuinely don't understand the hype. The pizza is expensive and, in my opinion, does not come close to justifying the price. It feels like a place that benefits more from its long history and reputation than from the quality of the food itself. There were plenty of seats and the wait for the pizza wasn't noticeably long. Being the typical nice summer/autumn Pleasanton weather it was, we sat outside and got to admire the outside art. We ordered one of the pesto pizzas and a red sauce (I'm sorry I can't remember the name). Either way, the cheese was perfect. We've been coming to this restaurant many times over the years although it has probably been about 5 years since our last visit. We had a fantastic server today who really took good care of us. Her name was Julie. She was great. Our pizza was a medium 1/2 Veggie and 1/2 Hawaiian. The crust was cooked to perfection but we thought overall the pizza was lacking real flavor. Maybe our taste has changed over the years since we have are big fans of Tony's in SF (or his newer Slice House Establishments) or Gold Dust Pizza in Ripon. Date with the Mr. after a drs appointment. We wanted patxi but they're now closed. This was what I really wanted. Started with the cheese curds, crispy on the outside, melted gooey cheese on the inside, comes with ranch and marinara sauce. Button mushrooms cooked in butter, wine and garlic. The wine was a bit heavy but still very enjoyable. The PIZZA!!! My fave part of the meal. I'm a combo kind of girl, so I gotta have everything on my pizza. Just 2 pizzas and 30minutes went by and our waitress was nowhere to be found and we had empty glasses and no food. Noticed people who arrived after us already had appetizers and food. Went inside to try to find someone to help us get refills or find out the ETA on our food and stood around and could not find anyone. After standing around for 5 minutes or so, we finally saw a guy come by us BUT he ignored us so we had to call out and get his attention. We told him we had not seen our server & have been out of drinks and our food still had not arrived. He was very dismissive, non-apologetic and told us to go back to our table and sit down he would find our server. We should have just asked for a refund at this point. When he finally found the server all he said to us was he "brought her back to Earth". No apologies about the wait or lack of service from either employee. When this gives finally brings out the pizzas, they were not even appealing to the eye and a few bites in; they were just flat out gross. We left so much pizza behind and that never happens. I mean you could go get a frozen pizza at a 7-Eleven freezer that tasted better. We noticed others around us didn't finish their food either... a sign the food is not good in general. Best pizza ever! My family and I have been coming here since they opened many years ago. This is a p-town classic. Our server Kevin , & all the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Their sourdough crust is next level delicious. Nothing like a fun night chillin on the outdoor patio. (Indoors is awesome as well. Dark and old school classic vibe. Can't beat it. They also have a full bar now! You can't go wrong with any specialty pizza on the menu, and don't forget a side salad!! Their blue cheese is my favorite in the world. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We had family who came into town and Pleasanton was halfway between where the family nearby lived and we decided to come here. Took over a hour to bring the salad out, we had to ask and when we told our server we still hadn't gotten it he left and came back and said oh you didn't? They said someone brought it out? There was no salad on the table and the plates were still stacked, took a additional 20 mins after that for it to come out, next came out the pasta orders which were barely touched because it was not good, still waiting for the pizza! After almost 2 hours they brought out the pizzas, which looked like they had been cooked a long time before, had no taste and ridiculously small. Thankfully no one liked the old pizza and no one ate more than one piece because it was so bad. We ask for the check and I go inside to pay and take to the person at the register, and ask could I pay for it there. She said Um sure one sec. Sat the card tray with my card down on the counter, next thing I know another worker comes and says I can help you to the girl at the register and then picks up my card and starts to walk away, I asked confused, where is she going? The girl with my card then goes outside to the patio seating and while there were 4 workers around me I asked again, where is she taking my card? Is there a register out there? NO ONE answered me, they are all just looking at each other. I asked again and again no one says anything. She then comes back in and my waiter is standing by me and she said oh never mind. Confused I asked again what is happening? My waiter finally says she needs my employee number to run it. I said well why didn't anyone say that the last 3 times I asked what was happening and mind you my waiter was one of the people not answering while the girl took my card outside. I thought I was in a movie, it was insane. I get back outside and while my table of 10 were still sitting there they come and start bussing the table like we were gone already. My whole table was disappointed and I wish we had went to any other restaurant nearby because from start to finish it was a horrible experience. Even after requesting a thin crust pizza, I was served a regular crust pizza. The cheesy garlic bread sticks were just stale bread topped with a layer of mozzarella cheese sprinkled with garlic powder. I'm thinking if this is even a crime for letting this slide?! Even after second chances, my expectations were still not met despite trying Wayne's World and Frank's Special. Their pizza was a bit undercooked and too crust heavy for me. The pizza was really tasty, the pesto sauce was just a thin layer, but there was ample cheese and toppings, and all of the ingredients added so much flavor, those jalapenos were especially spicy.
