Knocking out one star. A different person came back a year later to perform a roof inspection. I specifically mentioned that the gutters need cleaning especially on the northwest/back of the house. His report claimed that everything is clean. Now either Michael Porter did not inspect the section or only a spot check. I called the office and insisted to send someone to clean the gutter. Lo and behold, Richie came and confirmed 1 to 2 inches of sludge that he cleaned out. I was so disappointed with the sloppy work of Michael that I decided to cancel my club membership after the gutter cleaning. Trust was broken for me and will contact a different roofing company for my next inspection. What's also concerning for me is that they advertise as veteran-owned when in fact none of the current owners running the company are veteran. Yeah, it makes a difference to me if it is truly 100% veteran owned. read more

Garner has a very fair price for roof inspections which includes the attic. We called for an appointment and was able to secure an appointment for within 3 days. These are 2.5 to 3 hours we were lucky to get an excellent, well trained & experienced tech named Michael Porter. He was polite, professional & efficient. He knew how to safely walk a tile roof without cracking tiles. Michael took almost 50 pictures of roof tiles and explained any documenting issues requiring warranty repair. He prepared a written document incorporating the relevant pictures that the client may provide to the builder requesting repairs. Garner Roofing is a good choice for roofing inspections on the roof. It is more detailed than a drone picture. read more

I want to open by saying Michael Porter was great, fantastic! He is the only reason I did business with this company, but in hindsight that may have been a bad decision overall. Wednesday, July 17, 2024 Michael Porter comes out to give me an estimate on fixing my gutters - they were too big. He evaluated if they could be lowered as they were higher than my roof line, but they were too big and couldn't be lowered so he gave me an estimate on new gutters that are better fitted so they are lower than my roof line. He did initial calculations and said the company was currently offering a 15% discount on labor and that I could get the gutters replaced for no more than $3K. After he did the final calculations, it turned out it was going to be $3,200 so he gave me an extra 5% reduction because he already said it wouldn't be more than $3K. Sounds good so far, Michael Porter is an upstanding guy trying to stick to his word. I told him I had another company coming Thursday, July 18, 2024 but I liked him and his pitch, so I signed contracts and he said a crew would be out on Friday July 19, 2024 to do the job in one day - it would take all day. Thursday, July 18, 2024, I was unable to cancel the other company in time, so they came out and gave me an estimate at $300 lower than Garner. I told them thanks, but I already agreed to have the other company complete the job. Friday, July 19, 2024; a two-man crew comes out and removes the old gutters. After 90 minutes they tell me the old gutters are off and a crew will come to pick up the debris, but they can't put new gutters up because the length of my roof requires more than two guys otherwise the gutters could bend during installation. Weird that this wasn't planned for when the job was scheduled as Michael had measured everything thoroughly. They company tells me a subcontractor will come out tomorrow - Saturday - to complete the job. Saturday, July 20, 2024; another two-man crew comes out to install the gutters - weird because the two-man crew on Friday said the job required more than two guys. While the two-man crew is getting started four other guys show up, okay the guys on Friday told me more than two guys were needed for the job. Only these four guys don't work for the company. How do I know? Excellent question. I know, because they got into an altercation with my neighbor and were screaming in the street "I don't work for this company so I can do and say whatever I want." The cops were called by my neighbor because these guys were drunk and causing problems. The cops came and told them to be on their way if they weren't part of the working crew. Afterwards, I asked the two guys where their help was because the guys who came on Friday said they couldn't do the job with two people. The crew told me this kind of job is ALWAYS a two-man job. The other guys who showed up were friends of theirs just hanging out. Why would you have friends show up to a job you're working, first of all, and why wouldn't you tell them to LEAVE once you realized they were drunk - you could smell the alcohol on them from three feet away. I let Michael Porter know what was going on and he went back and forth with the office and said he would talk to his boss. I told him about the randoms who just showed up and the altercation with my neighbor and the police being called. After the job was finished, I also told him about the main guy saying this kind of job is always a two-man job, so why couldn't this job be completed on Friday as scheduled? I asked if I could get anymore breaks on the price of the job for the unexplained delay and the altercation his crew's friends started with my neighbor. He contacts me on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 to inform me his boss is unwilling to discount anything more as I was already discounted 20% - wrong, I was discounted 5% so Michael could keep his word about the price estimate. The 15% discount was already being offered as a default for everyone. Once again, Michael Porter was great and I would work with him again in a heartbeat. He did everything in his power to make this right, but unfortunately this is a very unreliable and shady company. I am fully expecting to have problems with these gutters based on the interaction with the two different crews I dealt with. However, even though this work is probably under some kind of warranty, I am highly likely to have these issues correct by a completely DIFFERENT company because I NEVER want Garner Roofing to return to my home. Garner Roofing gets two thumbs WAY DOWN!!! Highly UN-recommend unless you want shady crews showing up at your house with drunk friends to cause problems in your neighborhood and not complete work as scheduled. read more

not even deserving of one star. I have never came across a more scandalous company in my life. We paid for the premium roof and from day one they ripped us off. First they took our gutters after telling them our gutters were fine, then they put up the cheap gutter guards (we paid for the upgraded) we paid for nails and they put staples, my husband had to literally come home and babysit them so they would not continue to rip us off. They blew the nails, screws, and staples off of our roof right onto our lawn (we have dogs) so we ended up using our stick magnet to try to get as much as possible, they returned to try to finish the cleanup and stole our stick magnet, they left shingles lifted and for the last 2 months ignored our calls to try to get the matter resolved. These are just a few things they tried to pull over on us. It really makes me sad to think how many people they have stolen from and ripped off not even knowing. They did a very detailed roof inspection and saw cracked and chipped tiles and had caught some smashed vent bushings. He also showed me my attic features. The builder left my addict light on. I spent 50+ years in custom residential construction and have never had such a terrible experience as I did and am having with Garner Roofing, also doing business as Infinite Energy. Their salesman was knowledgable but that is where it stoped and don't ever expect to see the owners. We contracted with them to replace roofs on two duplexes plus replace 4 HVAC units on those roofs. Since they walked away from the job, I have had to hire another HVAC contractor to replace a main electric line they had damaged, attach a major duct line left disconnected and laying in the attic, correct other poorly connected ducts, and check the four heat & air systems to make sure they would run properly and safely and correct other poor workmanship here and there, so we could pass the final inspection by the County of Sacramento. Additionally, We have now removed (they were wet underneath) and replaced the roofs they botched up along with all scuppers and sheetmetal and all other vents etc. Yes, it is now in the hands of the attorneys. I got suckered in because I recognized the Garner name from years back and the salesman knew the business. In the past couple of months I have collected 20 mechanic lien notices posted in the Sacramento Business Journal, involving Garner or Infinite. read more

I hired Garner Gutter Cleaning service. Michael, the service person, was on time, professional and courteous. We discussed the project cost estimate and he started work. After completing the job, he informed us of where the problem areas were. He was spot on. During the recent rainstorm the exact areas he pointed out water poured like waterfalls. He show us pictures of the gutter spouts which were clear of debris. The areas on the gutter that were blocked prevented the water from moving to the down spouts thus causing the waterfall at those locations that we had observed during the rainstorm. Lastly, in addition to the photos of the gutters he provided photos of the blocked areas of the gutter. He explained how the rain water flowed from the roof along with the falling rain to the gutter and was blocked from flowing to our down spouts by the debris, in turn causing the waterfall effect. This made sense to us. This was the first time we had the gutters cleaned since having them installed about two years ago. We won't make that mistake again. That explanation was a very nice professional touch. Kudos to Michael for providing excellent customer service. read more

I reached out to Garner while I was in the process of obtaining quotes for a roof repair. After a couple hiccups with the call center, the call center manager called me back immediately and remedied the problem. Austin came out within a day or two and did the estimate. He was friendly, professional, and upfront with me about potential costs. After receiving quotes from several other roofing companies, I ended up going with Garner. Not only were they the most affordable, but also the most efficient and responsive. They had a crew out the next week who were able to repair our roof quickly. There was one minor issue where they broke a piece of the facia board with a nail from the nail gun, but otherwise everything was completed very well. I paid the crew directly with a check, but then received a call the following week saying that I had an outstanding balance. After we got that all sorted out, it was all good. The reason for the four stars is because it was definitely not a seamless process, but in the end I would say that I will use them again when I want to replace that roof completely. read more

Signed a contract with them on 12/17/2020. The salesman was very knowledgeable and even spotted a mistake when they installed the roof originally. Getting the date for repairs scheduled was a little bit of a problem. There are 2 administrative assistants in the office that apparently don't coordinate with each other. After I was able to schedule, the other one kept leaving me messages of when I wanted to schedule. It was very confusing. I had them working on my roof on 12/31/2020. Before The work was completed, I made arrangements with the administrative assistant to charge it on the credit card. On 3 separate occasions, the other administrative assistant kept pestering Over the phone requesting me to pay the bill, after I had made arrangements. It took 3 tries to make them charge me. The workers were terrific: prompt, very courteous, and quick. One of them though forgot some VERY expensive tools at my property. Luckily, I was able to call them within the hour and had them retrieve them. I consider this normal, as it has happened a few times with other companies, except this time it was expensive tools. I will use them again, as their work was good quality, but the office coordination leaves a lot to be desired. read more

Worst follow up and still incomplete work. During the estimate their rep Matt Bilyeu stated they would seal our gutters during the installation of the new downspouts and gutter covers. The crew got here unprepared to install the downspouts, but then fixed that. But they failed to seal the gutters (the whole reason we hired them in the first place). So our gutters still leak. They have made three different appointments since then (after my own follow up... They never called me to reschedule) they canceled one due to weather, second time due to a truck break down and last time didn't show up at all. I followed up again was told I would get a call back again... But have heard nothing since. Unacceptable. A simple phone call or customer care would have helped a lot, but they give the impression they don't care and are unorganized....and way over priced. read more

Jonathan inspected the 15 year old roof and confirmed not only the problem I found standing on the ground, but he identified several more similar issues, and gave me a very fair estimate to correct all of the issues found. First of all the sales person was very good and worked well with until it came to the actual roof repair. First they said they didn't sub out their jobs and of course they did. Roof removal was ok but I found alot of nails and screws in the flower beds and lawn. I had to have 2 tires repaired on my riding lawn mower because of roof nails. I think they charged to much for lumber they had to replace. I paid 100.00 for the lumber and they wanted to charge 1000.00. And towards the end of the job things didn't get do ne on time. We also had a few places they pushed the sheet rock out of place. I just think that price wise it could have been less. The owners of this company are not very accommodating. They came to our house to give us a quote on gutters and took the chimney cap off which caused leaking into our house. When we called they refused to come out and fix it. I had several estimates, but I liked Mike the best. He came out to give me an estimate and not only could clearly answer my questions but anticipated what I might need to know. The installation ended just fine, but during the installation there was miscommunication between the office and the workers about what was going to get done. I also didn't know when things roofing tiles and such were going to be delivered. But everyone who came out here was really nice. I was told I need to give a special shout out the the guys who installed the gutters (sorry, I forgot your names). And all the miscommunications with the contract we had were all cleared up. I'm so grateful we are working with Noah for a roof replacement We lost of our roof during the December/january 2022/2023 storms in my area. I immediately contacted Garner and got connected with Noah he came out and did a thorough inspection and quote pretty quickly. After that, my insurance company drug their feet for literally months. Yah has not gone well. Just needed my roof fixed seems to be too small of a job for this company. The price I was given was great, but then they did not show up for the work that needed to be done. I was told they were busy and they may be there in an hour or two. I had to leave. the next appointment they did not show up. I was told that they changed programs and that I was lost and not of the schedule. I have lost about $600 out of pocket to stay home and wait for them. When I looked at my text confirmation, they scheduled it for the week prior, which had already passed. When I called to verify that they scheduled for the correct date, thinking they had just put the wrong date on the text, they confirmed they made it for the week prior. Mistakes happen. So they scheduled an appointment for that same day. I received a text confirmation of my new appointment time and everything looked good. Problem is, nobody came out and nobody called to let me know they weren't coming out. Waited all day for them. That was yesterday. They still haven't reached out to me. They were just a no show. After receiving multiple bids for a whole roof replacement, I signed a contract for a new roof install and six solar panels with Garner Roofing in November of 2023. They weren't the lowest bid, but based on the salesperson's charisma, positive reviews online, and their heavy TV advertisement and Kings sponsorship, I figured we were safe choosing them. Everything went downhill from there. Construction delays, failed inspections, thrown away gutters that I was asked to pay $3K to replace, and poor cleanup during and after to name a few things. The solar was a whole other disaster. Their partner Infinite Energy did the install, and 4 months and multiple failed inspections later we are still not connected. Garner's operations managers have been pretty responsive when I call, but the project manager/salesperson stopped talking to me after my second call to resolve issues and referred me directly to the ops manager. The finished roof has a nice appearance and has held up well during the spring rain season but overall this has been an unsatisfactory experience. read more

I called them for a free estimate but the estimate never came. I've called several times and no call back, no response whatsoever. I don't understand how they do business this way. No Richard- I'm 100% sure I have the right company. I spoke with Chelsea there and she told me a roofer had done an inspection and she would be sending a report via email. I told her I never received it and she said she'd send it again, then she stopped answering my texts and stopped returning my calls or answering my multiple voicemails. Maybe she erased all traces of me as well? Don't know why that would be. If you're the owner and want to make things right then why not just call me or PM me?
