I had never had extensions before but figured I'd give it a try the first time in February...Amber was great and I decided to come back as a regular customer for the next 8 months. My problem was that they issue a punch card for every time you come in, and supposedly you get the tenth one free or a discount. I had lost my card but had kept track with my bank card how many times I'd been in. On my last visit I asked the receptionist about it and she verified to me through the computer system how many times I'd been there as well. I was a visit away from getting my bonus, however she advised it didn't matter since I no longer had my card. I told her clearly she could see I'd been there. It didn't seem to matter anyway that I'd been a regular. Then I get a text message about a month later reminding me of my lashes. I advised whomever sends these out my dilemma and that's why I hadn't returned. I get a message back the next day saying they have no way of keeping track, which is total BS because the receptionist did look at my history. So obviously they seem to have enough business it's clear they didn't need mine and I will be going to a different lash place. I've been a client of Gaby's since that first review in December of 2019. It's safe to say, I love Gabby and her incredible work. I told myself that first time "Oh I'm just going to get them for vacation" but I just could not go back to regular mascara after my initial experience with lash extensions. Not to sound repetitive, but Gaby is so insanely passionate about her work. She customizes each of her client's experiences down to the specific lash. No but seriously, she sees which length of lash works best with our eye type and even goes as far as drawing out which length of the individual eyelashes go on which part of the eyelid. She is so kind and someone I look up to very much. After heading off to college a few months ago, I had to find a new lash artist. While the lashes done by a new technician looked great, when they fell out, they took my real lashes with them. Let me tell you, the first thing I did when I got home was go to see Gabby. She is very passionate about applying lashes in a way that does NOT harm your natural lashes. She helped me salvage what I had left and provided me with natural remedies to grow them back. I have preached her work to all of my friends as I constantly get compliments about them. And even when I tell people my lashes are fake, they don't believe me as they appear so natural-looking. They aren't harsh whatsoever which is what I love. Being away at college, the one thing about San Diego I miss is surprisingly not the Mexican food, it's Gabby. I was a perpetual falsie eye lash wearer. Whether they were individuals or strips, I was constantly spending money on falsies. Then my friend told me about a GroupOn deal for lash extensions at another location, but after doing my research I found this salon had horrible reviews and so I decided to go with Danielle after reading all the wonderful feedback. My lashes now look better than I could have imagined! I told Danielle what I wanted and she nailed it! She spent an entire 2 hours transforming my sparse lashes into long voluminous lashes. I really liked the fact that she doesn't count lashes and allows your natural lashes to dictate the quantity. Now my eyes really shine! This review is for the REMOVAL of lash extensions after an allergic reaction to the glue (put on at ANOTHER BUSINESS - NOT HERE). I Yelped it and made an appointment and got one a couple of hours later. I had my extensions put on a Tuesday and by Saturday my eyes were full blown in allergic mode! My lids were swollen and it was super itchy and red. The gal at the front desk was very sweet and accommodating as was the one who actually took the extensions off. They were very very nice AND they didn't charge me for removing them! I tipped the gal $20 though cuz I took up about 30 min of her time and it was the right thing to do. I will recommend them to all my friends who are not allergic and want lash extensions! I wish I could get them and wasn't allergic. read more

If I would give it a a zero I would. My interaction was with Lazaren and it was a very horrible experience. I did my eyelashes yesterday and they look thin and very fake long. She never informed me that you can't use eyeliner till we start the service. They ask you to fill a waiver and they don't even take a look at it cuz mine was never completed and submitted so why you ask questions about allergies or medication if you don't even look at them. I tried to reach out to her and she was very rude and unprofessional. She ended the conversation with ** This is my day off and I am with my daughter** I am going on vacation and my time is so limited and she is making this an excuse for the total Rip off that she did. Yesterday during the service i felt uncomfortable cuz she didn't say a word or talked about maintenance. The longest 2 hrs in my life. I asked for natural look with fluffier look I ended up with having a thin long thin eyelashes. I went and got them removed at a different lash bar and when i was there they told me you don't even have a fan lashes on they are only individual so basically she charged me for hybrid set and she put classic on me while i asked for Hybrid. The lashes looked great for a month and a half. I did two sessions for upkeep. On the third week of my second session, my natural lashes started to fall out. It was my first time getting lashes, and I signed a bunch of waivers. My lashes may have been overfilled...I don't know. I have very few eyelashes left. If you're someone who has VERY thin and straight lashes like me, you know how frustrating it is to do anything with them. Gabrielle worked some kind of magic with her light volume set, and somehow I have gorgeous, thick lashes that actually curl (my natural ones are impossible to curl, ugh). Garnet Lash was my very first lashing experience a few years ago. One of the artists did a full set for my work holiday party, and they were va-va-va-voom gorgeous! But I wasn't used to extensions and didn't even wear mascara, so I felt that they were a bit long for me. I called and talked to Danielle the owner, and she was so sweet. She said she wanted me to be happy, and she invited me to come back and redo my lashed at no charge. I was impressed with their high level of customer service, and I was very happy with the adjustments. I continued going to Garnet for a long time, always happy with the artists that I worked with. They were professional, talented, and friendly. Due to a change in life circumstances, I went to another salon for awhile. But I started having a lot of trouble with retention and had to go more frequently for fills -sometimes they barely lasted a week, and my extensions would fall everywhere. I was ready to give up on my lashes completely when I reconnected with Danielle. She was able to work with my fine lashes to give me a full, natural look. I don't usually write reviews, but I had such a terrible experience at another lash place and Garnet Lash Studios SAVED me. Specifically Gabrielle. As a first-timer, I researched a ton of reviews and places and prices to get lash extensions done. I settled on a place in downtown La Jolla, figuring if they can afford that rent location, they must be good. They had good reviews and prices were moderate. When I called the day before to ask a few questions about my appointment (I was a nervous and curious first-timer), the person who answered was rude and short with me, leaving me with outstanding questions and now a trepidation about my appointment. I chalked it up to be a receptionist in a bad mood but was still a little taken aback. When I went to my appointment, I realized the person I was speaking to was THE OWNER (due to her accent). I was regretting allowing them to be my first lash extension experience since the owner obviously didn't value customer service (which is crazy because there are a million lash extension places!), and that regret only grew. Another girl (not the owner) was assigned to do my lashes. She did not ask ANY questions about the look I wanted nor did she take any pictures. She just got right down to gluing lashes on me. When she was done, I had several lashes stuck together and felt like I had heavy weights on my eyelids. And they looked even worse than they felt. A couple of days went by and I decided I couldn't live with these things. And I was pretty bummed because I wanted them perfect for my sister's wedding that was a few days away, not to mention the time and money wasted. I came across Garnet Lash Studios during my research and loved their professional website and bios of all their artists. I called them to see if they could provide me some direction on how to move forward with my hot mess of a situation. The receptionist who answered was SO NICE. Automatically I felt at ease. She asked me to send pics, said they could absolutely help me and that a lash artist would contact me. A couple of hours later, I heard from Gabrielle. Within minutes I felt so connected to her and felt that she was truly an expert, asking a lot of questions and completely understating the situation that was currently on my face while level-setting my expectations. She squeezed me in the next day to try and help me before the wedding and spent 2 HOURS trying to remove the gross, plastics, heavy lashes while maintaining the integrity of my natural lashes. Had the absolute best experience with Gabrielle the other day! I live in the LA area and usually get my lashes done up there but knew while I was visiting San Diego I would need a touch up for my lashes. I booked a refresh with her and she was so accommodating and prompt with communicating with me when I realized a few days prior to my appointment I would probably need a completely new set as I wasn't having good retention from my other place. My lash story goes like this: My first experience with lashes was amazing, it was actually at Garnet about 10 years ago. I took a long break and started lash life again about 4 years ago (not at Garnet)...it became an addiction, I had good, ok, and not so good lash experiences for 2 years, but I was hooked.
