Craig has completed two different carpet installations for us. He is a true professional and craftsman who knows that details count. Our most recent installation was a Fabrica carpet with a fairly intricate pattern. He completed the seams so that the patterns aligned perfectly. Fabrica is a heavy carpet as well, and he put in an extra set of tack strips to handle the heavier. He takes that kind of steps to ensure that the carpet will go in with the highest level of durability. In addition to the quality of the installation, Craig is super easy to work with. I would like to offer my most positive reference for Garrison Flooring Solutions. Craig Garrison was a great find. I carpeted my whole upstairs, three bedrooms, a sitting room and stairs. He asked me why I picked him as I had interviewed several people in person and over the phone. I thought about it and I realized it was his enthusiasm and his attention to detail. But there are so many more positive things to say about him and his assistant. First of all they worked so hard all day long and sometimes into the night. I would go buy lunch a couple of the five days they were here just to make sure they ate. I was home most of the time and saw this. Second, I would say that Craig is a dedicated craftsman. He would ask me little questions about what I would prefer. He would also offer suggestions. Always, he was going for quality and the best solution. Conscientious doesn't begin to cover his concerns. He loves what he does and takes pride in every aspect of the job. Craig is a personable, good-hearted, generous, thoughtful man. Even when he was really tired, he was always good-tempered. AND MY CARPET IS BEAUTIFUL. I didn't want to put the furniture back. Craig happened to like the quality of the carpet I picked, and he was frequently pointing out the merits of this quality of carpet. Craig is amazing! He has truly mastered flooring installations and takes pride in his work and on top of that he is a good person, honest and kind! I have never had an experience with a contractor like him before. Well this is going to be a long review. He installed LVP, underlayment and new baseboards in our entryway, living/dining area and hallway. We had some major leveling issues and to cut cost for us he was willing to attempt to freehand it and level it out as much as possible and we all thought he did. Unfortunately after the flooring was installed we noticed a lot of movement in a few areas (more than it should) and were worried the planks would lift. I spoke with Craig and he was so easy to talk to about my concerns. We schedule the fix and he lifted everything carefully. Then he used a self leveling material and after it cured he was able to reinstall the plank and now it sits beautifully. He guarantees his work because he truly takes pride in it and has great customer service. We also hired him to come back and install new baseboards, padding, and carpet in our bedrooms. Also my children have adopted him as they're new Uncle. He was so calm and patient with them, living in a small place it was difficult to keep them out of the way, but we made it work. He is our families flooring guy. We would recommend him to anyone looking for quality, honest work. My best advice is to spend the extra money on self leveling materials because it really does matter and makes a huge difference! Quality flooring is an investment that's totally worth it. Despite COVID, my wife and I have continued to update our home. Most recently -- January, 2021 -- we decided to replace our downstairs tile with the same luxury vinyl planks we had installed upstairs in early 2020. The easy solution was to hire the same company we used upstairs -- but their work was less than satisfactory in many ways. After receiving one bid from an established company, I ran across Craig Garrison's ad on Craig's list. He stood out for several reasons: he's licensed, provided excellent references, and proved to me beyond any doubt that he cares about his work. And the best part, his quote was more than reasonable for the job at hand. Within minutes of meeting Craig and his helper, I knew I had found someone special. He immediately saw the job through my eyes, something so many other so-called professionals fail to do. We had the same vision. Instead of removing the tile, Craig would fill in the grout lines and smooth out the highs and lows of the existing tile. This was important because I didn't want to end up raising the floor more than we need to. At just 4 - 8 mm thin, LVP is the perfect solution for installing over existing floors, except carpet, and it has the blessing of most manufacturers! How long would it take? 4-5 days per Craig... and they weren't kidding. They finished with time to spare. Being prompt and professional is also a must in my book, and Craig ticked both boxes for me. He and his helper Jack were on time every day and even worked through lunch if they were falling behind. The install included many angles and difficult cuts (especially in our kitchen), but they breezed through all of it and didn't break a sweat. Even when I found issues that bugged me, Craig stood behind his work and spent the extra time needed to ensure I was satisfied. He even does something I've never seen before: He lets you live with your new floor for a week, then asks you to create a "punch list" of anything that just isn't quite right. We had some minor baseboard and fit and finish issues that Craig fixed on Punch List Day and now, thanks to Craig, our home has never looked better. read more
