    Poori Potato Masala
    Rinku I.

It was our 1st time here and I went in with a lot of hope! Unfortunately this place was a mixed bag. Ambiance - clean and welcoming atmosphere, ample parking on a Saturday. Menu and orders/ payments available using a QR code . 5 Food : Masala tea - came out of a thermos and tasted bitter and not fresh. Same with the filter coffee. 2. Poori & potato masala : 4 light and fluffy. Not greasy . Vazhakai fry - 4 fresh and flavorful. The chutney that same with the dish was also good. Service- Not much interaction with a server, we placed our order and paid our bill online. The orders did not come out correctly. They servers us vegetarian Kothu porota , then came back and replaced it with an egg Kothu porota when our order was for chicken. We left it at that. The dish itself was nothing to write home about! It was bland and interesting gave me an upset stomach. It'll take me a lot of convincing for me to go back here.

We decided impromptu to check out this place while we were searching for a restaurant to satisfy conflicting cravings of butter chicken and masala dosa - and so it did :) Lots of parking in the square right outside it but long wait if you decide to walk in without a reservation on the weekend. Maybe call ahead and book a table as seating is limited and no outdoor seating. you order from your ph after looking at the menu through the qr code displayed at each table and then food is delivered by servers to you. U pay online too from your ph. In $146, we got: - masala dosa - 2 - 5/5 - good texture and comes with lots of chutneys and sambhar. We ordered masala on side. Good taste and big portion. - sukha mutton - 5/5 - too good!! Loved the perfectly cooked meat and flavorful marination. - apollo chicken - 5/5 - spicy kick and a little saucy app. Yummy!! - seeraga samba chicken biryani - 1/5 - epic fail!! Deceiving huge portion for $19 but only 2 chicken bone in pieces :( the rice was good and so was the chicken but the chicken to rice ratio for the price was a deal breaker. The salan was tasteless too . - butter chicken - 5/5 - creamy, rich and perfect :) passed my punjabi taste buds and i am thankful i paired it with the parotta - parotta - 2 pcs come in one plate - 5/5 - flaky and soft!! Delectable :) - rumali roti - 2 orders which got us 4 rotis - 3/5 - stale and falling apart. Not fresh. Maybe they used the frozen one :( skip it - filter coffee - 3.5/5 - tiny portion and served in a to go cup which was flimsy. We didn't ask for the to go and we were dining in so i was hoping for it to come in a regular cup. Clean restrooms and clean copper plated plates and cutlery was fancy :)

I liked the mix veggie pakoda the most. It was shredded thinly so really couldn't tell what veggie it is. It was nice and crunchy. My dosa was cold but still ok. I'm sure if it was right off the skillet it would be good and more crisp. the masala was lacking the potatoes more onion than potato.

Updating the review as they made me wait for 20 minutes after DoorDash sent me a notification that food is ready for pickup. That's unacceptable!

Had saved this place for a while..after picking fam from San Jose airport, went straight here for lunch around noon. Nice clean place with friendly service and served our order quickly. Food ordered: 2 veg chatti choru( Tamil language) - veg thali which is unique from this regional Tamil cuisine. Over a bed of good portion of plain white rice in a bowl topped with beetroot fry, green mint chutney, pickle(radish in mustard oil), plain dal, another curry, deep fried vada and papadum. Accompanied by spicy yogurt based raita, yummy rasam and sambar. All served in fancy copper/ brass cutlery. Overall food taste was okay, heard chicken dish was okay too. Loved the piping hot raw banana fritter. I came hoping there was a fish / sea food dish..hope they add to their menu. Will have to make another visit to try their parotta and curry... Plenty of parking outside in this little shopping strip.

Stumbled upon Saapaaduu since we were nearby and glad we found it! The chicken 65 appetizer was piping hot, crispy, and the contrast with the green dip was refreshing. Tikka masala was a good serving, creamy and delicious with the flaky parotta. It was our first time trying chatti choru and the server helped explain how to eat it with all the different seasonings and sides. We definitely got too much food for two, but ate everything up! Lots of families were eating here and it isn't a large restaurant, but the seating isn't too cramped. It's a great place to share with others.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. There was a wait, but we were seated fairly quickly. We got the mutton chaati choru - a Thali served in a bowl. A base layer of rice with curries and veggies layered on top. Sambar, rasam and raita are served on the side. We also got a mutton kulambu and rice. All the dishes were flavorful and authentic! Service was prompt and courteous. Wish it wasn't so far away, but we will be back!

Valentine's Day, we came home late after another game and we decided to try out Saalaaduu, a fairly new restaurant in our neighborhood. I love spices and was not disappointed. My husband went in to order our meal to go. Asked for their recommendations and off we went. They pack up the food very nicely, provide their own insulated bag for the food and provided everything we would have needed. My favorite was the butter chicken masala and this rice dish with a hard boiled egg. I know nothing of how to order or what to order, but we were very happy with the recommendation made and will gladly go back to try something else next time. But this time I want to eat at the restaurant. I loved how nice it is.

*Vegetarian Foodie Review* We have been going to this place more frequently after moving to the Evergreen area. I love the ambiance - it's a decent size, cute, and cozy spot. We usually order: - Ginger Mint Lemonade: 5/5 - hands down the best! - Mango Lassi: Very yum! My 4-year-old's most favorite drink here. Neither too sweet nor too bland--it's perfect - Classic Idly: 4/5, soft and fluffy - Kara Masala Dosa: 4/5, my all-time favorite - Masala Dosa: 5/5 I usually order this for my 4-year-old, requesting the masala to be on the side so my kid can decide how much gravy she wants - Malabar Parotta: 5/5 - best consistency and flavor - Paneer Tikka Masala: 4/5 - Dhaniya Paneer: 5/5 for uniqueness and amazing taste The chutneys and sambar accompanying most of the dishes are really unique in taste without compromising the authenticity. Service is usually quick, and you order through the app. Definitely coming back again to try more dishes!

3.5 - We came here for a family dinner and had a good experience. The staff was accommodating and service was relatively quick. I enjoyed my chicken keema dosa and my brother thought the egg parotta roll was pretty good. We got a kothu parotta for the table which was one of the best dishes we tried. Flavor on the paneer bhurji dosa was mild and the paneer was a bit stiffer in texture, and the benne podi masala dosa was good but the podi had a mild flavor. I do wish the chutneys had a bit more spice but the sambar flavor was pretty good. They had nice decor and seating was nice as well.

If you're craving a proper South Indian meal that feels both homestyle and festive, Sapaadu really delivers. First, the space is beautiful. There's a huge, gorgeous mural of Ganesha that immediately catches your eye and gives the place a warm, lively vibe. And the food is served in stunning brass dinnerware, which makes the whole experience feel special. It's the kind of detail that instantly transports you to a traditional South Indian feast. I ordered the Chatti Choru with mutton curry and mutton meatballs, and it was delicious. The mutton curry was the standout for me. Deep, rich flavor with tender pieces of meat and just the right level of spice. The mutton meatballs were fantastic too, juicy and full of flavor. What I really enjoyed was that the meal comes as a full spread. Alongside the rice there was poriyal, thovial, sambar, rasam, applam and yogurt, which made the meal feel like a complete traditional plate. The poriyal was excellent, fresh and perfectly cooked. And finishing with gajar halwa was the perfect sweet ending. My only suggestion would be about the rice portion. It's quite large. I ended up throwing away about three quarters of my rice, which felt wasteful. It would be great if they offered an option for less rice and a little more vegetables or sides. That said, the food was comforting, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I'd happily come back again, especially for the mutton dishes.

Recently had a meal here. Had heard good reviews about the place. Even on a weekday evening , they had quite a few customers, which may be made the service slow. It is located in a commercial / industrial neighborhood, and so the area seemed secluded on a weekday evening. Tried Kal Dosa with Vadakari - A thicker version of dosa which is a rice and lentil flour pancake. Served with a tomato based gravy consisting of savory lentil fritter. Vegan option available Roattukadai kalan - Street style mushrooms. Basically mushrooms cooked with onions , peppers and spices. Vegan by default Food seemed freshly cooked. Flavors were nice. Would try in again.

From the very first call, the team was highly responsive. Their catering plans are very elaborate and allow all kinds of combinations. I went with live chaat counters and Chatti Choru for main course. The food was amazing. The serving team was very professional too. Highly recommend them for catering events.

It was around 2PM, and we wanted some quick snack bites. This felt like a perfect place. Super cute cafe kind of ambiance. It has books, games etc to chill and my daughter & I had fun exploring it together. The menu didn't feel super huge, which is good because it makes me feel the items must be really good. I ended up ordering the paneer sandwich for myself and the veg panini for my 5 year old. 1) The paneer sandwich was my fav - it had a subtle hint of sweetness. The flavors really talked to me. The paneer portion was generous in my sandwich, a good protein-packed sandwich. 2) My daughter attacked the Veg panini and finished it in just a few mins. She told me it was super tasty, and didn't even let me try it. All sandwiches comes with fries - they were super yummy too, however, they were a tad bit salty and it would have been the best if they would tone down the salt a bit. Overall, I would rate the food at 5/5. My spouse joined us a little later, and I ordered the paneer sandwich one more time for him to eat. He also agreed that it was a 5 on 5. He loved the place too and told me he will definitely try the chai there next time he drops our kid to the gymnastics class. Service was surprisingly a little slow. They took 15 mins to get us the sandwiches, which in my opinion was a bit long considering it was just us in the cafe at that time. However, I had a feeling that they probably made it fresh, so it might take longer due to that. Took off 1 star for slow service. Definitely coming back again to try out more options from the menu!

It did have a lot of sugar, but it was pretty similar flavor-wise to Indian chai (sans milk), so it paired very well with our order. We ordered the chicken suqaar and the beef wrap. We opted for the chapati (sabaayad in Somali) with the chicken suqaar, but would love to try their rice or their version of injera during our next visit! The menu at first glance looks kinda confusing since they have Lunch in big letters on one side with a ton of their dishes and Dinner on the other side with the remainder of the dishes, making it seem like a few items are available during this time... but the Lunch portion just states that it comes with a side of rice, pasta, chapati, or injera (which is the same as Dinner...) so kind of an interesting stylistic choice there, but this is to say that everything on the menu is available the whole time they're open. The meals were so flavorful- the chicken suqaar had a ton of onions, carrots, chicken, green-bean like veggie, and spices, and was served with a green sauce that had kind of a habanero or jalapeno taste to it. The beef wrap was huge and I only ate half of one for dinner- it was flavored so well and the beef was cooked perfectly. This came with a side of the green sauce and a white sauce. I'd love to return and try their injera with chicken, kay kay chicken, beef suqaar or beef steak, and their sambusas! I saw some on another diner's plate and it looked sizable and filling. Jubba is located right next to a VTA light rail and an apartment complex so there's decent foot traffic, but overall, a wonderful place to try and eat!
