But today, I was met by the single most rude employee one could imagine. Now, maybe she was just having a bad day (it happens) but to interrupt my sentence just to tell me "I need you to put on your parking brake, roll down your window and give me your mileage" with a level of demand and urgency as if the lives of children were at risk, is a little much. My response; "Wow, that is a lot of needs." She again repeated her demands and clearly I failed to understand how serious the moment had become so she added pointing and gestors to supplement her request; "I need you to put on your brake, roll down your window and give me your mileage!" Yeah, I heard your list of demands the first time. I have been pulled over with less consternation then what this tech was displaying. I simply replied, "No, I think I will go someplace else." Remember when I said I have been taking all my vehicles here for nearly ten years? That stopped today.

I arrived with a scheduled appointment at 9:00 a.m. to have the rear shocks replaced on my vehicle. The service technician assured me the job would only take a few hours. By 2:00 p.m., with no update, I called the shop. I was told they were behind and hadn't even started on my car yet, but they promised they would begin work at 3:00 p.m. When I still hadn't heard anything by 5:00 p.m., I returned to the shop and found my vehicle sitting untouched in the exact same parking spot--eight full hours after I dropped it off. The technician then admitted they were running far behind and said they would start "right away," estimating the job at about 30 minutes. At that moment, I was tempted to just let them finish, but the complete lack of respect for my time and my appointment left me with no choice but to take my business elsewhere. My car sat idle in their lot all day while my place in line was repeatedly pushed back. This level of poor communication and disregard for a confirmed appointment is unacceptable. It has significantly damaged my trust in Les Schwab and unfortunately overshadows all the positive experiences I've had with them in the past. I expected much better.

I spent money on a hotel room Next day they called me and told me it would be $475 to replace the thermostat (which is $110 and takes 30 minutes to change). They said that there was no ETA on when the car would be ready. I called their parts department and I was told that it could take weeks to get the part !!! Really? A thermostat ? Are they getting their parts from Bigfoot? There are plenty of places in Saint George, Las Vegas, etc where they should be able to get the part from. Even if it comes from Michigan it should only take a couple of days. At the end I paid $176 for their diagnosis and took the car elsewhere where it was fixed within an hour and they installed the same OEM thermostat. Maybe this place should sell their thermostat to the dealership.
