The worst falafel I have had ever! They burnt the whole thing, there was no flavor in the filling. The falafel wrap we got had more wrap and barely any filling. The tahini sauce that they 'packed' for us in cups without lids with aluminum foil around it! How does a take out place run out of lids!? We were literally scooping the sauce from aluminum foil. Very disappointing experience. Hope other Gaters outlets are better. Never going back here again for sure. read more

I absolutely love this place. Like seriously their food brings tears of joy in my eyes. This has to be my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the whole world. The portion sizes are amazing and they are so generous with it. It's always cooked hot and fresh and full of flavor. I always finish in a food coma. They deserve more than 5 stars. Unfortunately I found out about this place a week before I had to move so I came here everyday to get the most out of it lol. I've tried finding places similar but seriously nothing can compare!! First thing - the gyros are good here and is the only reason for our multiple visits however, there are a bunch of complaints here mostly around the customer service. The fries are good but whether we order one or two orders, we get the same amount and are told that that same amount is the correct number of orders of fries. Next, when we order tatziki on the side they always only give us one side regardless of the number of sides we order. Lastly, it is the way I am treated when I pick up my food - as a woman, I feel very uncomfortable when I go in there with the eyes of the cook / server feeling like they are undressing me as well as common misgendering where they end sentences with Sir. I do not know if this is a religious thing, or a cultural thing but whatever it is it is definitely rude and leaves a bad taste in my mouth for having to visit this place. read more

1. First of all the guys behind the counter weren't willing to make chicken kebab and were pushing us to get chicken shawarma instead because it was already cooked. 2. After that we got the food served in paper plate and plastic fork. $13 per plate and I get it served in paper plate. 3. We got 2 chicken skewers (sound reasonable) BUT both had 3 tiny pieces of chicken. P.S : the restaurant (can't even call it a restaurant) was messy and dirty. I posted negatively before about the slow service and missing fries order but now many years later I decided to give them another chance. It's been a complete turn around! They served very quickly, very generous serving size for their smallest size, and service (even for a takeout) was perfect. They went the extra mile to label each order according to what was inside and clearly labeled which orders were spicy because one person in the group requested it without spice. I recommend ordering by phone before picking up and note that the garlic chicken wrap and Mediterranean wrap were both very delicious! The smallest "house" size is enough for a meal, with no need for sides. My only gripe is with the fries, which were overall flavorless and disappointing. read more

We ordered the combo plate regular and the large gyro for two people. The portion sizes are a joke we paid over $31 and ended up hungry! The large gyro isn't much bigger than gyros from other restaurants but costs double and includes no sides. The combo plate was adequate but only didn't include pita bread unlike what was said by the person taking my take out order. Overall much better tasting better value restaurants are out there, no reason to go here unless you're on a diet. read more

One of the best afghan quick togo in the fremont area!!! I'm a regular here, and i always get the lamb plate. Lamb plate is always in point! The dude here hooks it up fat! Portion and price is straight on point! Service is nice and quick! What really more can you ask for?? The lamb comes in small cuts, very tender and very tasty! The sauce and veggies they provide for you is sooo good with the bread and rice that they give you! Everything compliments each other. They have the best falafels around the Bay Area, and no matter what meat dish I get, it always tastes really fresh. This place is so good that even my mom likes the chicken platters, and she never really eats Middle Eastern food either! My go-tos are basically...everything on the menu. The wraps are delicious and full of flavor, the platters are complete, well-rounded, fresh, flavorful packages (not to mention the rice that comes with the platters is awesome!), the falafels are great...what's not to love? I used to get the chicken gyro plate from this place and loved it too, but recently I have noticed that the quality and taste of the food differ all the time. Today, the chicken I got was uncooked and the rice was tasteless and super soggy. Plus, when we called to let them know that the chicken was raw, the person on the call right away said "NO". Got the combination plate take out order and the twin lamb kabobs plate. On the Steak and Chicken combo the portion of gyro meats was very small and very greasy. The rice was soggy. The sauce was watery and the salad was slimy. The Kabobs were tiny and had a heavy spice coating. Again soggy rice and slimy salad. The hummus was the only good thing. We threw most of it away. GATERS was recommended to me by my Co-worker after I shared a travel experience of mine. I love traveling and trying different meals. One of my favorite past times was when i visited the middle east( Jordan & Duabi) the people were loving and so welcoming. So of course I had to try the food. It was simply amazing!!!!!!! Eating the Mediterranean combination plate from Gaters brought back so many good memories. It was as if I took a trip back to the middle east sitting at a 5 star restaurant outside under an umbrella enjoying the weather the beautiful people and the amazing meal.
