So this is gonna be the dankest review you're gonna read on here and imma show you what the hype is about Gater's Background: southern californian born and raised yo my palette is a divine palette spoiled by all the good food ive grown up on. When i arrived at gater's its a little hole in wall and i was all mushed up by the cute cats and dogs next door so good business strat by them. The ambience was very authentic: got some good middle east flow going on that i couldnt help but do a little headbob to. I ordered the combo platter cuz my amazingly dank girlfriend who's a norcalian Born and raised yo suggested it to me. Ily booboo s/o to you aint fuckin with the wolfpack oddfuture stark house reppin. We sat down outside cuz the weather was nice real nice like we don't get this in socal ya'll spoiled. My girl was on her phone and i had to wait and i was really hungry. When i had the first bite there was an explosion of flavor in my mouth that i had never experienced. I was nude and wasn't ready! Definitely non-consensual penetration and mind blowing thick flavors is all the food to have offer. The meat had fire roasted flavors that had a hearty personality. It was balanced out by the acidic sour vegetables to create a neutral base of absolute deliciousness. I couldnt stop. The meat and the pita and the veggies and the rice all came together in savory harmony glued together with this thick white sauce. Not gonna lie, it kinda turned me on. I was turned on and only wanted to eat this bomb-diggity food. Shortly after i spoke to the manager who told me to write a review about the man who made it. It was mufuckin KHALDOR . MY MAIN HOMIE KHALDOR GOD BLESS KHALDOR HE CAME OUT TO CHECK HOW EVERYTHING WAS AND WITH A MOUTH FULL OF HIS MEAT I COULD ONLY MUMBLE "ish sho gud ungh" god bless everything about this place it was awesome. 10/10 would eat again if i didnt live 400 fucking miles away. read more

Shady Business Practices! Ok Food. Tried this place for the first time because of the high reviews but was very disappointed. They cut every corner and then to top it off, they overcharge you! The prices listed on their website are all wrong. When we walked in, the lady at the counter was discussing a custody battle with another lady. Worst of all, I believe she is the owner or manager (very unprofessional). After she was done gossiping she took our orders and continuously tried to "upsell" us to try the baba ganoush, try the dessert, try this drink, etc. (after the 2nd "no thank you" you should stop). I wanted to order the Vegetarian Sampler which is listed at $6.49 but when you walk into the place ALL of the prices on their Menu board have been crossed out with a Sharpie and raised by $2. As if that wasn't enough, the sampler has Only 2 falafels, 2 dolmas, etc. (instead of 3 of each as advertised on their menu)! Here is the kicker... We ordered 1 veggie sampler and 1 grilled steak combo then were charged an additional $2 more than their newly listed prices! I figured maybe it was tax but the numbers don't add up. It gets worse. Their website says the combo comes with a drink and dessert, but we got neither. When they brought out our food, we waited for the rest but never got it. I asked the cook, and was told a combo comes with fries, but we didn't get that either. I went back to complain but the lady at the register was too busy on a personal phone call (while customers were waiting to order). I told the cook and he said he get our fries after confirming that we had paid for them. By the time he made our fries, our lunches were done =( The food wasn't bad, but the dishonest and unprofessional service was a total turnoff. We won't be back. Gyro Express down the street is much better and they don't rip you off! Same goes for Falafel Etc. (behind them). I'll stick with those places next time. read more

I've been a customer for about 8 years now and I've never been disappointed, probably because I get the same thing every time. I always order the combo plate with extra meat and hummus on the side. They give a great amount of food, and that's a lot coming from someone who can wipe out an entire dish of food from Country Way down the road haha. It is a hole in the wall place but there's no denying the flavor and quality of the food they serve. I come here for their plates but the wraps lack the generosity of serving size. All in all I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great place to eat good Mediterranean food. read more

Ugh The food here isn't that bad, I'd give the food 3-4 stars but i absolutely can't handle the pushy overly sales oriented cashier lady that's always trying to trick me (or my poor momma) into paying more than we actually order. if you order a mediterranean chicken wrap, they automatically charge you extra for the mushrooms which they don't even ASK you to put on sauce costs extra, but cashier lady never tells you that, just secretly charges you. every single time will ask you if you want fries, drink, hummus, dessert -- SO ANNOYING. service is such trash. read more

The hummus was scary. The garlic was in big chunks and gave it a very sour flavor and killed the texture such that it wouldn't even stick to my bread. If you can't have good hummus, I'm not there. read more

2.5 stars. I had the chicken shawarma but it didn't come close to the goodness I had in Paris. They don't use tahini sauce like Mr. Kebab in Union City. I think I'm partial to the Turkish version called "doner kebab". The wrap had a generous amount of chicken however, and the combo price is a good deal. read more

This place reminds me of an east coast city restaurant with the way it looks. I was really excited to give it a go. However, I really wasn't happy with my food at all for the nearly $20 I spent on one meal. The flavors were decent but the portion sizes did not quite seem to warrant the price. I opted for the kabab combo and their kofta was a tiny meatball. The rest of the kababs had maybe three pieces of meat on them. This is paltry compared to Fremont Afghan Kebab. My girl and I had dinner here tonight and the food was very delicious. The guy behind the counter was Saichand. He made us feel at home and he was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. Very slow service even while not busy and with 3 staff. On top of that, EXTREMELY RUDE. After waiting almost 30 minutes for my food, I wanted to check if everything was there before I left and they just kept rushing me out. This place was not bad. I heard the ownership changed and the quality of the food went down but since it was my first time, I was unable to compare it anything but other Mediterranean restaurants I've been to. I had gyros and it seemed slightly barren. There were 4 strips of meat, some slices of onions and maybe 2 slices of tomatoes in it. I can't remember but I think there was some sauce in there somewhere. The bread was very good: soft and warm. Definitely nothing too extravagant but I'd go there again for a quick bite. read more

I come here on my lunch breaks 1-2 times a month for the garlic chicken gyro :) the service is always amazing, the people working here are so genuine in making sure you are given a yummy meal. By far the best Authentic Mediteranian food in Fremont!! No where else has halal meats so amazingly seasoned and slow coked they melt in your mouth! Highlights include house made Baklava, Gyros, Falafel, Kabob and even burgers!! A must try when your in town!! read more

The worst service ever! Where do I begin, I went in as usual and ordered two chicken platters. Also as usual I asked for an extra side of rice. The owner, a strange acting lady( I think she might be on crack) charged me $5 for the side of rice which is usually free. A small tiny side of rice was only $2 less than an actual chicken platter order. Total rip off! She also tries to make you order other items like a sales lady at a car dealership. This is your typical, hole in the wall, Mediterranean food joint. They have kabobs, tabouleh, baklava, falafel wraps, etc. This place used to be fantastic before they got new owners. Ok so I'm done with this place. They have good food but the service is so bad that I just can't justify eating here anymore. I have literally been coming here since I was 13 years old and now I'm just done, they need to hire better people to cook and run this place. The little Indian/ Fijian guy is super rude and I don't know if he has a lil man complex or what but he can not take out his anger on me. Also apparently they do not accept groupon during Ramadan which btw is not said on the fine print. They have to accept them and they refused. They even refused to take the groupon if I ordered pick up from yelp and yet again it doesn't say anything in the fine print (this was before Ramadan too) so we had to pay separate. Updated in March 2018: I love the food here. It's their service and commitment to it ! I got a Groupon and I bought it because I knew it was a slam-dunk. Until it was not ! So I am standing in line for 15 mins and when my turn comes, the guy cooking completely walks out on my groupon. He gives me a lame reason saying, his counter is slammed with orders and he cannot honor my groupon. He is willing to process my "paid for" order but not my groupon. I tell him that I am coming all the way from San Jose and have driven 30 mins and he is like "Alright man ! it will be a 40 min wait" and he did not care a dang that I went off ! Why the heck would you want to advertise your service on Groupon when you do not want to honor it. I used to love this place for its taste. I am pretty sure, it is still awesome !.. I am never coming back though March 2018 update: The food still rocks. I have started avoiding Groupon. That helped. The food is still delicious. They have figured out the spice quotient. Well, I went back to Gaters today for work again. They really hit it out of the park this time. The food was exactly what we asked for. No mistakes or anything. Pro tip: try your best to get the lady who works there. I didn't catch her name, but I believe she is the owner. She is very kind, patient, and professional. She was very detail oriented and made sure that they got my order right. She even offered me a sample of their soup while I waited for the food to be finished. Very happy with my visit to Gaters today. I hope my future experiences will be just as good as today's! read more

Great eatin for a good value , Gators is my new favorite spot in Fremont . I've tried the shwarma wrap and the chicken /steak combo plate . This place is a hidden gem. Stopped by on a whim bc it was in the same plaza as our vet. Food is tasty and affordable. I got the combination plate and my husband got the chicken wrap. This is a great little place to eat. They have a nice menu and really great atmosphere. The young lady at the register was very polite and a pleasure to talk to. The reason I am not leaving 5 stars like I want to is because the new girl that was working at 2 o clock on April 12 has screwed up my order the last 3 times I've gone here. I frequent this restaurant and always recommend it to my friends and family but this new cashier needs to go!!!! The other lady is amazing and remembers me everytime I come in. This new girl just looks at me stupid like I don't know what I'm ordering and screws up my food. Will not be returning when this girl works.
