    Ham and cheese omelet.

We are regulars and are always disappointed. I suppose the reason we go is that we never see the bottom of our coffee cup. We have given up to expect the food to be cooked decent. Your plate is a pile of food. Today, I changed it up by ordering a ham and cheese omelet. Since when are eggs brown? Last week, 2 eggs over medium where the egg whites were brown. They came with a side of burnt bacon. We spoke to the owner last week because of the burnt bacon, and nothing has changed. Their hashbrowns are a huge pile of wet mush burnt on one side and a soggy slop on the other side. I would not be writing this review if he had spoken to the cook. Or taught him how to cook potatoes and eggs. The waitress gave up talking to the cooks they are mean to her and has no choice but to bring out what the cook plates. The owner has to step up.

Really good brunch/breakfast food. We have been here several times for brunch and have always had a great experience. They have the best skillets/omelets/breakfast when it comes to family, diner-like spots in the area. The owners and staff are always very nice and the service is quick. The farmer's skillet, Mediterranean skillet and gyros and eggs are our go-to's. Highly recommend for a chill breakfast.

    Chicken, not steak

Usually love this place but today, not so much. I ordered my usual chicken fried steak and eggs which is usually tender and delicious. Today way tough and dry. Upon inspection I discovered it to be CHICKEN. How deceitful can you be?? Menu still lists it as steak and pricing reflects steak. Your customers deserve better!!!!

I grew up going to this neighborhood breakfast and lunch spot. From Village Inn to Gateway Cafe it is the fast hot fare that you come to expect. It was busy and bustling when I arrived. The hostess was friendly but was wearing an unprofessional looking tank top - in December. We ordered a skillet filled with potatoes, eggs and veggies and French Toast. Everything arrived quickly, piping hot and sooo tasty! The room is much larger than you would think with tons of booths and tables. Coffee and ice water were refilled before you realized you needed it. The parking lot was was full but late arrivals can park across the street at Gateway Technical College. Be prepared to smell like cooking grease when you leave. It happens every time!

This is a pretty popular breakfast location in Kenosha and no doubt it is probably because of the fast service, portion sizes, and unbeatable prices for what you get. They have a pretty good selection of pies to choose from as well.

Great breakfast and sandwiches. BLTs & crispy fries are delicious. Service is good, short wait times, if any.

pretty good food at reasonable prices. Waitresses don't seem to be to happy in their jobs. They might want to find something they enjoy.

I ordered the half garbage plate with sausage and bacon. Pro tip: ask the difference between the half and the whole before you commit. The half comes with three eggs. The whole comes with five. Five. I chose wisely. Oh and don't forget the homemade bread smothered in butter! It's clearly a neighborhood staple. People were greeting each other by name, swapping stories across tables, and operating like they've been meeting there every Saturday since 1974. Thankfully, they extend that same friendliness to random out-of-towners who just wandered in hungry. The vibe is energetic and communal, the kind of place where conversations overlap and nobody seems to mind. It has a modern, eclectic feel, but there's also a subtle time-machine quality to it. Like you stepped into the 1960s, just with better coffee and fewer ashtrays. Perfect blend of nostalgic and now.

If you're a snobby person or someone with tons of food allergies don't come here. They are irrelevant in a very good way. I would stick to the basics here. My friend got the cheeseburger with fries and it was perfect. They have fresh meat, no frozen patties. I got the half order of biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and it was perfect diner style food. The portions are huge so a half order was way more than enough. My friend had the roast beef omelette and I wouldn't recommend it because the beef was in chunks and was full of gristle. However, everything else was terrific. I didn't have the garbage plate because the portion was huge but it's on my list for next time. Maybe I'll split it with someone because you need to come hungry. Prices are very reasonable but it's cash only.

We then asked our server Juan what he recommended and we ordered two of those. We ordered the Steak Fajita with flour tortillas and cheese and sour cream on the side. Also the Bistec Con Rajas Y Queso with corn tortillas and sour cream and cheese on the side. Oh my, the flavors mixed together so well. I added the guacamole and salsa and enjoyed every taco, every bite. I stuck with water and my hubby had a horchata. He said it was delicious. We followed our dinner with a piece of Choco Flan. Ohhhh those two mix nicely for a great flavor!

But I'm no Sherlock Holmes so it took awhile for me to investigate this place and try their fine cooking. First of all, they will start you off with pico de gallo salsa and two other types. All three went very well with the big basket of tortilla chips. We decided to have their most popular meal and that was the steak tampiquena - cooked to perfection and still tender and pink. We also had the chimichanga meal and I elected to have ground beef as opposed to chicken and it was incredibly good!! I also tried the quesadilla with ham and beef lengua (tongue) taco, which was on the dry side. The veggies, guacamole, and sour cream were all very fresh. The conversation with the owner's son was very pleasant and they've been open for about seven to eight years. I told you I wasn't no Sherlock but I will be back here to this stately house otherwise known as El Senorial.
