My husband I cannot say enough great things about Gateway and Dr. Bridget and the entire team. We have been with them for 2 years now and they really care about not only our dogs, but us. For years one of our dogs had ear infections and nothing work with a previous vet. She made a suggestion to switch her food when we first came to Gateway and our Juno has not had any problems since then. Poor experience my mom had to go through with Gateway, as she is old school and made an appointment by phone, writing down her appointment date and time. When the the time came, she called ahead to be certain Gateway was expecting us, and it turned out someone had moved the appointment to an earlier slot. When my mom tried to change it, the staff was not sympathetic at all, and even admitted to the mistake. They apologized but did not wish to honor an additional 15 minutes of grace period, as we were already on the way eventually missing the appointment. Due to the poor attitude of this scenario, we shall be seeking care for our pets elsewhere. read more

When it came time to let or 18 year old dog go, we took him to Gateway Vet Clinic. The experience was horrible. Some of the doctors comments, that I guess were supposed to be comforting, we're completely out of touch. The doctors inability to get a needle in his leg made an already scared dog even worse. The bill included a $59 charge for a "quality of life" check. I'd have to say that this place knows how take a difficult situation and make it worse and capitalize on it too. read more

I have to say, I have suffered for years with this place taking care of my dog. I kept coming back because it was a convenient location, however it just never felt like they do what they do because they care about animals, it is all about money and they ruthlessly charge for anything they can, without truly focusing on potential issues. Ultimately I brought my dog here when he was dying and they completely butchered it, it was not a peaceful experience, the vet woman was too lazy to do it properly to put an iv in my dogs paw, my kids witnessed it all and it was brutal because this place does not care, they also failed to send me a promised paw imprint but they did not fail to promptly bill me for their horrendous holocaust of my dog. read more

We brought our cat due to him spitting up a small amount of blood in his vomit. After a physical exam and X-rays the female vet wanted to keep our cat overnight due to a dark gray circle in his stomach. She explained that after a night of I.V.s (for fluids) and monitoring, if the mass did not recede then the next step would be surgery. My wife asked if the mass could be food, as our cat recently ate, the vet said that this may could be a possibility. Needless to say we brought our cat home that night. read more

Cannot say enough nice things about this clinic. They have cared for both of my cats, one from essentially birth to her death at age 15. The staff is wonderful, they are brilliant with the animals, the place is spotlessly clean and they are always within 5 minutes of being right on time for appointments. Dr. Sara is fantastic. I do not know anyone who goes there who doesn't believe she thinks about animals exactly the way they do, even if they do not all feel the same way! Very happy with Gateway Veterinarian Clinic. Newly moved from the Charlotte, NC area where I loved my golden's vet and knew it would be hard to replace her! Dr. Klepitch is moving in the "right" direction to do that in my estimation. Your vet is like your GP. It takes time to get to know them. So far, from what I can see, Gateway and staff are highly rated. I have had dealings with two other local Fox Valley vet clinics in the past having lived in this area previously, and moving back here decided upon a change due to a a personal referral to try Gateway and am very happy I did! We've been bringing our very difficult, very large (but very beloved) dog here since moving to the area 3 years ago. Dr. Klepitsch has always been incredibly understanding and flexible with our boy and his needs. Recently, Dr. K referred us to another clinic for an ultrasound to check a suspicious mass. He's returned our calls after hours and gone above and beyond to help our dog (and us) through a terribly rough time following a cancer diagnosis. My animals and I have been patients at Gateway for almost 18 years. We've always gotten the best of care and service from the front desk all the way back to the vet techs. Everyone is caring and friendly. My favorite vet there is Dr. Sara Dodd, she's been with us from the first visit with a new pet to the saddest days of our lives when we've had to say good-bye to a beloved family member and every thing in between including a surprise surgery for one of my dogs. I can usually get an appointment right when I need it, often same day if someone is sick or has a semi-emergency. Prices are comparable to other vets in the area. I have changed doctors for my children and myself a number of times over the years but always go back to Gateway for my pets. read more

It's been too long since I've updated my review, so here goes. Since the last review, my two rat terriers have passed on to puppy heaven. We have a new rat terrier rescue -- Rosie -- and she is also a regular at Gateway, of course. The staff at Gateway couldn't have been more helpful when we went through the trauma of losing one dog to a sudden, and devastating illness.
