Finally a Gators on this side of town. They are located in the Super Target plaza in the old twist fusion spot. It's very open and Loud as you would expect from a sports bar! The food was good. I had the mac n cheese burger, I ordered it medium and it was cooked perfect. The bacon mac n cheese was a nice touch. my husband had the Hawaiian teriyaki pork chops. They were tender and tasty. The only complaint was as he got to the last couple bites, it was a little under cooked, we let the server know. She told manager, who came to table and apologized and offered to buy it. We refused since he ate 90% of it. Told him to leave on the bill, he did. The service was great. Great location close to downtown Orlando just 5 minutes south. Parking very easy in garage next door. Truly one if the nicest Gator Docksides I've ever seen and loved the outside bar ledge option. Plenty of tv's - clean restrooms - friendly staff. Maddie was our server and was triple sat - when he sat down at the bar hightops - not her fault but she recovered quickly and was extremely attentive throughout our dining experience. The Gators in the Sodo area has revamped it's management and staff and let me tell you, they did an amazing job. Service was fast and the staff his very welcoming and friendly. I had the most pathetic fish sandwich there the other day, along with some overdone Gator chips. Total garbage. The haddock ( no way to tell if that was false advertising or not because there was virtually no fish in the sandwich ) was inedible. Service is 50/50. I have had equally had excellent service and had to walk out service. If service was at least 60/40 I would have given 4 stars. Wing night is a hit and you can not beat the quality of the all you can eat wings. Parking on the street can be difficult. But there are 2 parking garages in the shopping center, the easiest one to park in is Target's. Food is so so had to send my wings back numerous times. During football playoffs was told we had to give up our table to a larger party. I actually wish that I could give this place more than 5 stars! Let's start with the food. We can here for lunch, while in the area. We always love gator tail, the appetizer was very good - tender and well cooked. I personally didn't think it went well with the honey mustard (I would have matched it with a chipotle mayonnaise or a sweet & spicy sauce), but the gator itself was so light and good that it didn't need any other condiment. (Next time I will ask for a different side, my boyfriend liked it with the honey mustard, so it's a personal thing). Absolute worst experience due to our server Natasha G. First our soups were cold she didn't come to the table for 10 min after dropping them off. This would have been no issue if she didn't take the soups and not come back or say anything for another 10 min. I came in a group of 6 & my 1 year old nephew. We had been sitting in our booth for 15 minutes, never got greeted, & I had to fetch a server for us. The servers are horrible, not polite, not welcoming, not at all attentive. I got the Mac & Cheese burger, I use to work at the Cheesecake Factory, & not that I'm comparing, but the MAC & CHEESE that came in the burger tasted like it came out of a box. Not at all delicious or savory in any way, it had no flavor-also had multiple encounters with biting in the meat with veins and fat. Gross. My three other friends, decided to do the "all you can eat wings". Not only did it take forever for them to get there wings, I'm talking 20/30 minutes, but when they went in for a second round,it took yet once again about 20 minutes to get their order in. I then asked to speak to the manager & he was VERY & I mean VERY unprofessional & opposed to constructive criticism. I have been ordering here and giving them a chance over and over again. I order the same thing every time and when made right it's amazing. But 98% of my orders have been wrong. I order the gator tail po boy with cheese Fries made using cheese curds. They never know the ingredients that are on the menu, so it comes out with no mayo, or the Cajun sauce instead of the sweet gator sauce, etc. I know there is an up charge of the curds, I tell them charge me I'm cool with it. They could charge me ten dollars extra for the curds, and I'd be cool. Tonight I hit my breaking point. My po boy came out with no mayo and the cheese on top of my fries, there was too spots on overly done non seasoned fries. That's it... I was charged but the product was not there. I gave up. The only manager that ever will acknowledge the mess up is the female, everyone else it's always an excuse. They have no pride in food quality here, none. It's a shame, but I won't return. And I will make sure anyone I know is aware of what a waste of money it is. I went home hungry, rather then give them my money for such a bad dinner. While I love the food there, I must say the service sucks. I have been there a few times and usually sit outside at the bar during their slow times. There's barely anyone inside of the restaurant, just a few locals hanging by the bar. It takes about 7-10 minutes for someone to greet you, another 10mins for someone to ask what your order is, and then I have to constantly remind them to check the status on my food. It's crazy to me that everytime I'm there, it's an issue. The only reason I do go, it's local and the food is great, however the customer service is awful. Horrible! Me and 6 co-workers went there for lunch (around 12p) for our 1hr lunch break. We sat outside and the restaurant wasn't even half full. We went inside after sitting for a few min and asked for menus where we were told someone would be right out with them. It took another 5-7 min to get them (had to stop the waiter and ask). It then took almost 10 more minutes for sodas, ordered and asked for our checks at the same time (about 15min after sitting) and by 1pm had to go walk inside and ask for our food to be boxed to go and had to find the server to take our checks that had been ready for over 30min. Got our boxed food with no plastic ware, or condiments and one item forgotten (it was ready just not in the bags). We told the waiter when we asked for the menus we only had 1hr and were in a hurry. He said he understood, guess not! When we asked where our food was the waiter said "well, I don't cook it." Then walked away. Never got refills or to go cups to take with us, never a thank you or I'm sorry from the waiter either. This area can get busy for lunch, but I guess I see why everyone goes to Jason's Deli instead! Sooo I should have given this review immediately but I didn't want to cause an issue. But I have to say it because it is honestly so disgusting. The waitress we had a few weeks ago was so gross, it was beyond me. First off, her service was slow and we caught her rolling her eyes when she would walk away for something as small as SAUCE. We live nearby so I was excited to check the place out. I had been to the one in Gainesville so I knew what to expect. Really nice atmosphere in SODO but we did encounter a few problems. We ordered nachos (half) at the same time as our entrees. I guess they thought that meant we wanted everything at the same time. Thirty minutes later, the nachos came out with the food. Not ideal. The half order for $7.99 looked quite small, though we did order it to be made vegetarian so that may have contributed. Take a bite. It's cold. The cheese isn't nice and melted. It's basically formed into one giant melted cheese orb. I got the wingers with honey mustard. Did not love that sauce at all. The manager came over and apologized, took the nachos off the bill and got me wingers w/o sauce. They did their best to rectify the situation, and we appreciated that. Our server was also fantastic. And they did get 2 kids orders out right away. But the food was just meh -- I prefer the Ale House zingers (and honey mustard). The fries also were unseasoned, and the cole slaw is not creamy (my preference). Will I be back? Probably, it's a great place to watch games. Just won't be ordering the wingers. read more

Why oh why does Orlando South have so many sports bars? Are there any adults here that would support a nice bistro with good wines? I think the answer to that is yes. It would be so nice to not to have to travel to College Park or Winter Park for that. I start with that because I knew Gators would be a sports bar/wings place but I had always heard that there wings were EXCELLENT. I can honestly say that the wings were absolutely not excellent and they had nothing over the wings at Friendly Confines or even East Coast (which I really don't like). So why do we need this? It's taken me a while to post this. The quality of the food isn't good. A few times I've been in to order wings. I like them extra crispy aka "fried hard". The server will take my order each time and they do not come out extra crispy. They were very soggy to be quite honest. The time before this I ordered wings and took a bite and they also weren't crispy. I let my server know and her response was, oh you took a bite already, or else I would have the cook "re-drop" your wings. Very bad customer service. I was in last night and they didn't have ginger ale. We also ordered the double fudge brownie and it looked nothing pictured in the menu. It looked like a 5 year old assembled it. I'm very disappointed. I have taken clients here for lunch and it's too bad for the lack of care shown at this establishment.
