I want to like Gators so bad, but every time I leave disappointed in the food. I love the environment of indoor and outdoor bar setting. Damian is a manager that gets mad a the customer instead of his cook ‍ poor performance and to make it worse. Manager Damian ‍will walk away from you while you are trying to gets the burger not burned and the French fries not from siting until customers order. Also, bartenders only focus is to do dishes. By the way my drink had bugs. After considering dirty ice it was determined the alcohol bottle had bugs in it. All this issues where on diferente ocasións. So, it was time to post on media. I live behind Gators Dockside and this is the only place open late but be aware. The Health department should be coming in here and I'm done trying to have them make it better. This was probably the best location I have been to. I have been to about four different Gator's in FL. Brian was our server and extremely attentive and nice! They have an excellent selection of both draft and bottled beers. Their outdoor patio area is awesome and they allow you to bring dogs as well. Went here for wings- the fried (naked wings are delicious) - I had half lemon pepper and buffalo (they were more of a wet sauce and not a dry rub. But they were so good. I've been a longtime fan of Gator's Dockside and this location fits the mold of what many other locations bring to the table. Gator's is always a great place for good bar food and a great place to watch the game. They're Scooter Sauce wings are always my go to and is a good mixture of sweet and spicy. Make sure you get them grilled as I think that little char adds a great flavor to it as well. Tried to eat here tonight and it's as if there isn't a pandemic happening. They're seating is back to full capacity, yet they have no precautions in place. Other restaurants have installed plexiglass to protect their patrons or spaced out their seating, but not Gators. So far, still waiting outside. Was told 30 minutes when we checked in. Checked back at 35 minutes and was told it is going to be another 20 minutes. Found out the manager is telling his hostesses to say 30 minutes regardless of the actual wait time. I spoke to the manager and he is just making excuses, like "you must have been caught in our busy time and a lot of large parties just checked in". He must think I was born yesterday as the wait times are based on the people before you, not the people in the future. I have an 11 year old that is now going to have to wait even longer. If you are the owner of this restaurant, may want to teach your manager that honesty is still the best policy when it comes to customer service. So ... finally got seated. Placed an order, quesadilla and two orders of wings with fries and coleslaw. Waitress came back five minutes later and said the kitchen was backed up and would take about 35 minutes. Needless to say, we left. Will give this another shot when this place gets its act together. Maybe need to have the staff come in early for some much needed training. The bright spot here is that the waitress was honest with the time. The downside is when I told the manager about it in the way out, he said said the waitress shouldn't have said that. Obviously he is more concerned about getting people in the door and not about providing a good experience. Maybe he should sell used cars instead where that business model actually works. read more

The food was very bad. The bowl I would stay away from them. I think they are getting their food all ready cooked. The eggs were pre cook and old. The avocado tasted like it was rubber. First thing's First, can't deny the food was great. No complaints there at all. The service however needs A LOT of work. So We got there at 6:30 and were told that there was a 20 minute wait, it ended up being close to 50 and during that time we were told (several times) that our table was ready and was being cleaned for us. After complaining they decided to move a bunch of tables around for us, so there was never a table ready and being cleaned.....I hate being lied to. After we where finally seated and they took out order an hour passed before we got our first dishes. In that time we asked about the food a couple of times and at what point the waitress told us to talk to the manager because there was nothing she could do. I asked for a beer, 20 minutes later I told her she forgot it and she went inside to get it....3 minutes after she came back out, no beer in hand, to ask me what was it that I ordered because she "couldn't remember" 45 minutes or so after waiting we asked what was happening to which the waitress told us that the food had only taken 17 so far to come out. After talking to her and several other employees we realized that she forgot to put our order in and that's why she said that it had only been 17 minutes. I guess we could have cut her some slack because her dreamy boyfriend was visiting her at the restaurant and she seemed more preoccupiedwith talking to him that actually doing her job. After an hour of waiting, complaining, kids hungry and crying we finally got our dishes.....but only for half the table, the rest would have to wait another 10 minutes. 10 minutes into our meals she came out and actually asked us if the "hangry" levels had come down. It was just a really bad experience and they need to do a better job at training the staff. I haven't had such a bad experience in a really long time. I need to point out that the manager never bothered to stop by our table to talk to us, even though he was full aware of what was happening. By the end of it all we got a $5 discount for our troubles..... I really hope they get better as I love this place and it's the first time we have one close to home. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Living in the Windermere area for almost 5 years and never had good service at this restaurant. Food and the service has always been horrible. My boyfriend and I always try to give this place a "second chance". We wanted to watch the 4 o'clock football games and since we sat down service was awful. Asked for the manager and spoke to him about our experience for the past 5 years and nothing change after speaking with the manager. Cold soup that took 20 mins after ordering, no utensils, cold app, etc. So we asked for our tab and wanted to speak with the manager again. Unfortunately, the manager at the time didn't have the balls to come out to speak with us and sent their hostess to us!!! Awful place. Stay away! I don't know how a place like Gators can have such poor reviews as far as food is concerned. I'm a regular at this specific location and always have the best experiences. You cannot go wrong with ordering Wingers or traditional chicken wings...the variety of sauces they have is insane and the prices are also great (which I appreciate in comparison to Miller's Ale House). During my last 3-4 visits, I have somehow been assigned to the same waitress (Celeste) and I'm not complaining. She's the most attentive and professional; you'll never have to ask for getting your drink refilled bc she's always got you. Will definitely miss this place very much when I move to MSP. read more

Granted they "cut him off" but he continuously had a beer in hand when confronted. He drove off absolutely plastered with his partner and when I confronted the manager for the photo of plates, which him and I attempted to capture photos, to call the cops to at least alert in case of ,god forbid, a wreck or to at least attain the driver, he told me no. I can't let that go. No telling how many times this man had been there and drove drunk or countless others that were let off on the same leash. 3/18/18 Visiting friends who just moved in and decided to get a bite. Gators is right near their new place. We went for lunch on a Sunday and it wasn't super busy. We were told 10 minute wait for 5 people and didn't even wait that long. Our server was awesome. I wish I could remember her name. She has short hair with some purple in it and she used to work at Disney. Two people got drinks, one was a Bloody Mary. Everything was good. We got the fried pickles with ranch. You get quite a bit and the batter is light on the pickles. Best I've ever tasted. I had the fish and chips (seasoned fries). It was really good and a lot of food. Another friend had a cheeseburger which was big and yummy. The last was the monte Cristo. So much food! It's basically two meals. Almost everywhere I've been in this area has super friendly staff and great guest service. This Gator's is really spacious on the inside which is deceiving from just looking at the front of the plaza. It's a brand new plaza so wait times are expected because everyone's excited places are finally opening! No complaints. Friendly tip: just be patient with the new staff while they train. read more

The Last Straw I live near the Windermere location and a frequent visitor with typically large groups when we go. When this location opened it was an incredible place to be and food was even better. However, the last two insistences were a terrible experience and tonight is the last straw. We were a group of about 8 people all ordering our favorite meals and a few from our group wanted slushies from a convenient store across the parking lot. Not thinking an issue would ensue or having signs outside or within the lobby stating that outside beverages are not allowed, the few returned to the restaurant and proceeded to sit down. As they were walking to the table, a waitress from behind a register on the other side of the restaurant began shout at the individuals from our group stating that they cannot bring the drinks in the restaurant and they walked right out. While this "rule" is understood and not disputed, the issue is the way the waitress handled the situation. The treatment of the waitress was extremely disrespectful, humiliating and embarrassing in front of other guest who witnessed the ordeal. The manager Damien was no help in resolving the situation and began to become verbally combative and at one time, justified the waitresses action as appropriate. No accommodation or initial apology was given of any kind by management, only when it was time to pay. What a humiliating experience tonight (6/4) and unfortunately this is the last straw. There was no consideration or customer service whatsoever during this entire ordeal and the only thing we asked, was an apology from the waitress for the manner in which she spoke. Not even that was satisfied. I hope this experience will pave a way for retraining and to improve the customers service in all aspects within this restaurant. read more

Tonight was a fail. My partner and I always come here and we are part of the gators dock side club. The food is good as always. Service sucked. From the moment we walked in with the host to the server. Our server came to our table to take our order and that's it. Have not seen him since. Never came to check on us.
