I have been here plenty of times over the years: for happy hour with coworkers, dinners with friends, date nights with my boyfriend, and even just to grab drinks. I love their margaritas! The food and drinks have always been consistently good, and the service has never disappointed. On one recent visit, my coworker and I went to Eureka, and I fell in love with the fried pickles! That is something I normally don't ever order but I wanted to try something different. They were so good that my boyfriend and I came back a few days later just to order two baskets before heading home! Like I mentioned previously, I never had a bad experience here. We came here with a medium-large group and kind of landed here due to the long wait at another closeby restaurant. Luckily, it was Happy Hour, so the timing was good! I started with an Old Fashioned drink, which was solid - strong enough to pack a little punch but still taste good. We ordered a few appetizers - the Korean Beef Frachos were especially good and the Brussel sprouts were very solid. With so many appetizers, I went with a Caesar salad and two soft tacos (shrimp and fish). The Caesar salad was good and healthy sized, so I could share with others. It was a typical, but good, Caesar which didn't have anything fancy about it (no anchovies, egg yolk, etc), but nothing was really lacking either. Both soft/street tacos were good, respectable in size and very tasty. Other people in our party got burgers, goat cheese salad, chicken sandwiches, and everyone seemed very happy with their meals. Service was friendly and casual. Our server was the one who really recommenced the Frachos, which was a great call. I've been to Eurekas before and always been satisfied. Our group of six came here for an early dinner on a Friday. We wanted to go to BJ's originally, but there was a 45+ min wait. Some of us had been to different Eureka! locations in Northern California and suggested to check this one, which was just across the parking lot from BJ's, out. I was glad we did. Not only was there no wait, they had a very chill covered outdoor patio as well. Their indoor area had more of a sports bar feel, which was cool, too. Staff were super friendly; our server told us about their loyalty program, and gave us some great recommendations on food and drinks. We're early enough to order quite a few things off the "Hoppy Hour" menu. I had the Wild Child cocktail, which had a pretty color, and was quite yummy. We shared 3 appetizers: Truffle Cheese Fries, Crispy Glazed Brussel Sprouts, Korean Beef Frachos. All 3 were delicious, and our favorite was the beef frachos, which was like an upgraded nachos, with very flavorful/tender ribeye steak pieces and mildly spicy seasonings with cheese over crispy potato wedges. It's truly the bomb! For my entree, I had the Al Pastor Fish Taco and the Blackened Shrimp Taco. Both were scrumptious, especially the shrimp one. My husband gave me some of his Caesar Salad, which was fresh and quite good. My sister-in-law shared some of her Napa Chicken Sandwich with me; it was delightful. Our daughter had the Goat Cheese Citrus Salad with added chicken and no pecans. She enjoyed it but said the amount of chicken she got wasn't worth the additional charge. Thanks to the GM for reaching out after my last review and inviting me back to give Eureka another try. I'm glad I did because this experience was so much better than the first. If you read my original review, you know the service was terrible. This time, though, Jorge took great care of us. He checked on us often, made sure we had everything we needed, and was friendly from start to finish. That's the kind of service I was hoping for the first time around. The food was much better too, especially the fries! Y'all know they were trash in my first review. This time they were hot and crispy. I ordered the Fresno Fig Burger with fig marmalade, goat cheese, bacon, tomato, red onion, arugula, and spicy porter mustard. Whew... that burger was good! The combination of sweet and savory flavors just worked. My husband and I ended the meal by sharing the Bourbon Barrel Cake with candied pecans, bourbon caramel, and vanilla bean ice cream. Just making my timely updated review. The lights were still dimmed, which brought a great ambiance to the dinner experience. It was very relaxed and just had chill vibes. The evening started off strong, as we stopped by during Hoppy Hour (around 9ish). There wasn't a wait, and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The front staff was nice and polite. She gave us the option of either a tall round table or a shorter rectangular table. We of course, opted for the slightly shorter (height-wise) rectangular table. Once we were seated, we were given the menu, and the waitress told us that we would be right with us. She stopped by to ask about drinks, and we opted for water. She dropped off water and came back with perfect timing because by then we were ready to order. I also love the simplicity of the menu. There really aren't too many options where you feel overwhelmed, but there are still enough choices to pick from. Shout out to the pastrami quesadilla, I didn't realize it had been swapped for a new menu item until I asked about it this time around, but I'll be waiting for its comeback! We ordered a few items: the mac and cheese balls, the Wagyu bone marrow burger with truffle fries, and a double smash burger with ribbed finger potatoes. We had to get the mac and cheese balls since it was Hoppy Hour! I also didn't realize that on Wednesdays, the double smash burgers are half off. I'll definitely remember that for next time. After we ordered, the food came out quicker than I expected. It was a nice surprise. I think the first item came out about 10 minutes after our initial order. The mac and cheese balls came out hot, which was great. The breading made them super crispy and gave a nice crunch that balanced really well with the softer, chewier mac and cheese inside. I was glad the inside wasn't too runny since that would have made it like lava! I didn't see a cheese pull this time, but next time I'll try again to see if I can catch one. I should have asked for the sauce on the side, but it wasn't a problem that it was added on top of the fries. It just made them get soggy a bit faster, but that's no problem; it just means I've got to work faster! The burger was good and came out super juicy. I asked for it medium, and it looked about medium, so no complaints here! I never realized before, but the bread was so fluffy... it was a super pillowy bun with a nice bounce to it. It definitely helped balance out the meatiness of the patty. The hint of tomato gave it a nice, refreshing bite and really helped cut through the richness of the meat. The onions also added a nice sweetness to the burger, which was appreciated. I also snuck a bite of the ribbed potatoes, and they were good as well. Had an okay experience! The wait was long, our server was great, and the food was okay We came on a Sunday a little before 6pm with a party of 4. My friend got there early to put our name on the list. The restaurant appeared empty as there were lots of open seats/tables but it took us 40 minutes to get seated. I went to Eureka! for the first time the other night with one mission: a sweet treat with family. The vibe was very chill for a Monday night. Just a few people at the bar watching the game and the restaurant has a cozy feel with the low lighting and warm wood interior. I could see out to the outdoor fireplace and kept thinking that would be such a cute date vibe. Just drinks by the fire where it's quiet enough to actually hear each other talk. I thought it was interesting that the waitress brought out a kids snack plate with carrots and oranges. I've never seen that before. Our server, Malia, was nice and attentive overall. For dessert we ordered the Bourbon Barrel Cake and the Turtle Pie à la mode. The Barrel Cake wasn't too sweet and the flavor was good, but the texture was a little grainy. It's been almost a year I think since I've dined at this establishment and today we had a party of 5. Service from the hostess and waiter Joseph was on point from start to finish. For the food, we were able to catch the last of the happy hour so we started with some wings, mac n cheese balls, and my favorite fried pickles. For the entrees, I went with trying the Philly cheesesteak for the first time with onion rings as an upgraded side. I was very shocked at the quality and would definitely order it again. We had a couple of black n blue mushroom burgers, a jalapeño egg burger w/ no bun, and fish n chips (forgot to take a picture). I tried the non boozy flight which was excellent. One of my people got a lychee martini, another got a mocktail, and one got one of theirs energy refreshers. The surprise of the night was the delicious carrot cake and cheesecake. Tried this place out in the City of Cerritos CA. Place is modern and somewhat fancy. The ambiance was warm with great décor. We made our order for a Party of 6. Mostly hamburgers and salads. The food was good, but the price doesn't match up with the burger. The burger I ordered was $21 plus, comes with small fries and optional to upgrade for sweet potato fries, onion rings etc for an additional $3 more. The burger was small as well as the fries. I felt cheated paying for this type of meal. The service could of been a better. Our waitress would come and go, disappearing 15-20 mins at a time. Our total stay was close to 2hrs. Overall, it's an okay place for drinks but not so much for the food. They need to work on their service. Maybe I will give it another try in the future. This experience was just Meh. read more

I got a vodka cocktail which was light and refreshing. Unfortunately, we had to sit at a high top which didn't have the most comfortable chairs. Would have preferred a booth but they happened to all be dirty when we arrived. Service was good and had someone check on us frequently for drinks, food, etc. We got the black bean nachos which was on the happy hour menu. Didn't add meat on top as that was an extra $10 and didn't seem worth it. I liked that for the burgers you could sub the beef patty with a veggie one for no additional cost which I don't normally see and gave me more options to eat as I don't eat beef. Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak: Very flavorful, the bread was fresh, soft with a nice chew. The meat was tender, moist and cooked perfectly. But a side note, there very stingy with the meat. The next time, I'd ask to double the meat. The fries.... cooked well, but just ok. I'd prefer real truffle over truffle seasoning in a sauce. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich: My wife ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich and added bacon for an additional cost, and substitutd onion rings for the fries.. It's not anything that the kitchen could change, but certainly we've all watched amount cooking shows like Top Chef to know food expediting is a great way to keep customers happy and fed! I got the Fig Burger - this came out very well done (gray throughout) although I asked for medium (I don't mind a little pink inside) Shared a steak frites ( wanted medium rare but it was more cooked through than that) The beef marrow burger was also more done than a regular burger. Dry rub wings were quite good, kids menu Mac and cheese included tater tots, two slices of orange and 3 carrot sticks. Got a non alcoholic flight to try, the watermelon spicy agua Fresca is spicy! My fiancé and I used to live very close to the San Diego Eureka location, and it was part of our regular dinner rotation. We now live in Long Beach, but decided to drive up here because we were celebrating a job promotion and craving Eureka burgers! I always get the Cowboy (now called the Barbecue Bacon), he always gets the Fresno Fig, and they never disappoint. A little sad that the sweet potato fries no longer come with honey and cinnamon -- those were delish! But the regular fries are good too. The service was friendly and attentive, and the manager even checked on us during our meal. We sat in the heated outdoor patio, which I see other patrons have complained about, but we thought it was quite intimate and nice! The only downside of the experience was my beverage. I don't recall the name, but it was bright blue with a tropical and vanilla flavor, non-alcoholic. I just didn't care for the taste and ended up mostly drinking water. The location is great! It's located in a shopping center near other businesses and restaurants. There is plenty of parking available so that shouldn't be an issue. The interior is nice and clean. It is very modern and sleek but still retains a home-y vibe. The service was stellar! Our food came out relatively quickly, I'd say in under 10 minutes. Our server came by multiple times to check in on us and make sure our meal was up to our standards. There wasn't a second that went by without our water being full. The flavor of the food was delicious. I loved how glazed the Brussels sprouts were, honestly some of the best I have ever ate. The portions are about average. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but the service we received today was very disappointing. Our waiter, Quincey seemed bothered every time we asked for something. When we first arrived, we requested water and had to remind her about it. When she eventually brought it, she set the glasses down without saying anything or making eye contact. Throughout the meal, she continued to act the sam. When I asked for ketchup and later for a straw, she seemed annoyed and again dropped the items off without saying anything. It made us feel uncomfortable asking for even basic things. As for the food, I ordered the wings well done, but they came out soggy and heavily breaded. I understand that breading is a preference, and I should have asked but the texture was not what I expected. When our food arrived, we were also not given utensils or napkins so I had to get up and grab them from a nearby table. This has typically been one of our go to places when the kids want burgers. We've always liked the relaxed atmosphere where we can enjoy burgers and beer while the kids have a good time. Unfortunately today's experience completely changed that for us. I ended up sending the wings back which is something I have never done because it's embarrassing but between the food and the service, I felt it was necessary. I looked them up on YELP before deciding to try them. I wanted a really good burger: fresh, juicy, flavorful, meaty, artisan, culinary meal. This wasn't it. Why would you ask how I like my meat cooked if you're just gonna do whatever you want to it? How did i order a barbeque bacon burger (bacon on the side for my dog child) with hardly any barbeque sauce and the bacon on the side completely forgotten so now my dog can't get a treat! Burger was dry and well done when I asked for medium to medium well. Burger was chewy and they were stingy with the barbeque sauce on a Barbeque burger! I also asked for mustard and mayo. Nope. They decided in that kitchen that it was opposite day! Fries were whack. I tried one and it was chewy and not fresh. I tried to call restaurant and left a message because no one answered and no one returned my call either. Brussel sprouts were good but I wish they had drained them better so they weren't drowning in syrup and oil. Gross. Quality control definitely took a day off this Sunday and at my expense. My total was 34 something. I will not be back. The waitstaff were very friendly and sweet. That was the sweet point of this entire rant. I hope upper management appreciates them. read more

Thursday night had live music. I tried Pretzels bites: delicious Little pretzel balls (about 10-12) with garlicky cheese dip. Parmesan fries: crispy fries with Parmesan and a dip Roasted corn: delicious Corn is removed from the husk and tossed with cilantro sour cream and topped with fresh cheese, red bell pepper. Fig burger- Sweet and savory. Has bacon and goat cheese that pairs well with the fig spread. read more

I tried the jalapeño egg burger, and it was... fine. The burger itself was juicy and cooked well, and the egg was a nice touch. The jalapeños added a little kick, but nothing that really made it stand out or blow me away. Flavor-wise, it felt like it was almost great but didn't quite get there--kind of like it played it safe. For the price, I was expecting a bit more punch or balance. Not bad, not amazing. I'd come back if friends wanted to go, but it's not something I'd crave or go out of my way for.
