The ladies are nice, but they were so busy moving furniture and it was quite loud dragging things around while we were trying to enjoy your food at 2 PM. Granted it's not peak time but they still have to be aware of what is going on when we're trying to enjoy our food. Either way, I am very appreciative of the food. It's always excellent. Rice Meats Soup is my go to for all kinds of Korean food. I've eaten here more than a handful of times. I've enjoyed everything I've ordered from here. The Bossam is a huge portion size. They give you so many pieces of pork. The pork by itself has a nice seasoning and flavor. There are plenty of the wraps and fillings, and the two sauces add even more flavor. There is enough bossam to feed probably 4 people. The banchan (small side dishes) are always delicious too. They always have a good variety and they'll refill the side dishes whenever you need. I order the Seafood Soon Tofu almost every time. It contains lots of seafood and has great seafood flavor. The Seafood Pancake and the King Donkatsu are also delicious. Awesome korean food in the buena park area. My wife always craves korean food so we had to pull up to this spot. I love the simplicity of the menu and most items have a picture with it so you can see what it looks like. We ordered the seafood pancake, which is humongous, and the spicy short ribs. They were both delicious but be careful with the short ribs as they can get pretty spicy, even with mild. However, they were awesome. The meat was extremely tender and basically melted in your mouth. This also came with side dishes. We'll be back if we are in the area. The lady serving us was awesome. She came back to check on us a few times and helped me answer all my questions. Definitely come hungry to this place! Their portions are huge... We ordered Rose Teokbokki, cold noodle, and their King donkatssu to share. Everything is so nice and flavorful. I was very impressed by their donkatssu not only is it fried to perfection but the pork itself was juicy. I've always been a fan of the sweeter and tangier sauce that comes with the korean version of tonkatsu. Cold noodles were also refreshing. I wish it came with crushed ice to make it even colder as it was truly a hot day. Rose teokbokki was wonderful but definitely the biggest plate of them all, definitely for sharing. Large, crispy and done correctly. Their panchan is pretty standard. Getting it refilled, including water took some effort. The Short ribs soup is good but didn't find it tender or flavorful enough like the former a&w shop in buena park. I think the restaurant is ruined by 2 people in the back and the guy in the front. While we were half way done, a family comes half hour before closing. The guy host i think didn't appreciate last minute arrivals and hinted at the closing aspect. Regardless, they sat. We ate. Service became slower and slower but we still tipped 20%. It wasn't a cheap dinner for four people but food was tasty. I think we spend $160 for 4 people. There are probably better choices in north buena park but we got lazy and crossed this place off my list. I saw Rice Meats Soup on Yelp and was intrigued by the fun name. During our first visit this past weekend, we were pleasantly greeted by staff and welcomed to a very clean interior. The vibes were giving comfort and casual, but when the food came out, we were truly in awe! The presentation was amazing. The beautiful braised short rib neatly stacked with pieces of veggies and rice cakes peaking through. Smelled equally fantastic! Seafood pancake was very cirspy, filled with real seafood, and huge. This is an excellent locally-owned and operated restaurant I stumbled upon. It seems like they specialize in Korean/Japanese fusion but so far I've only ordered traditional Korean dishes. Found an amazing Korean spot in Buena Park near Cypress. Place looks casual and simple outside but their food is amazing! Their galbijjim is tender with perfect seasoning, not too spicy or sweet, and goes perfectly with their fluffy rice. Finally found a place that makes seafood pancake right! Most places serve soggy pancakes with barely any seafood, but this one's thick, packed with seafood, perfectly crispy outside and properly cooked inside. Makes for perfect rainy day takeout with makgeolli. The bossam here is so good.....! The pork is tender with no weird smell, and comes with house-made ssam mu (radish wraps). The staff told us that the owner makes everything in-house, even all the banchan like the regular kimchi and green onion kimchi that come with the bossam. The green onion kimchi especially pairs perfectly with the pork. Super friendly staff, free parking, and plenty of space in the lot. My new go to place for Korean comfort food. I've been here for their soft launch and they've since consolidated their menu, but the quality of food is still top notch and the portions are so generous! Here's what we got: King Donkatsu ($19.95) Must get! Honestly this may be one of the best pork katsu I've ever had. The outside was perfectly deep fried - crispy and light without being greasy and the pork is so tender on the inside! It's served with katsu sauce on the side which I don't typically use, but this one had just the right balance of flavors and wasn't too sweet. Seafood Soon Tofu ($15.95) Tofu soup that was packed with shrimps, clams, mussels, and of course tofu! It came with an egg on the side to crack into the soup. Their mild was on the spicier side, but I still enjoyed it so much because it was so flavorful and the seafood flavors really came through. First off... very easy parking. We tried the Galbitang, Yukgaejang, bulgogi bibimbap, and bulgogi. Banchan was okay. Kimchi was good, I think I could go a tad sweeter. But I'm very glad it wasn't too citrusy. The soy beans were a new thing for me. It was good, drizzled in sesame oil I believe. The rest was ok. Not the greatest Banchan I've had, but it was all right. Bulgogi was flavorful. Galbitang was good. Yukgaejang was not the greatest I've had, but it's okay. What I Ordered: Spicy Pork Ribs w/ Kimchi ($41.95) Chicken Katsu Combo ($20.95) Braised Black Cod w/ Spicy Sauce ($46.95) Food: Spicy Pork Ribs w/ Kimchi or Mookeunji Dwaeji Kalbi was filled with thick pork ribs and huge kimchi pieces. I loved how authentic everything tasted, it was better than some of the Korean restaurants in Korea! Make sure to cut the kimchi into bite sized pieces because they come huge. If you find a long piece, cover a pork rib with the kimchi and have it all in one bite. Trust me. The pork meat on the rib was soft, tender, and so flavorful. The flavors were enhanced to another level with the soup base and kimchi being absorbed into the meat. With my first bite of the kimchi, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it tasted different and better than other Korean restaurants. I got to ask the owner and he let me know that they make the kimchi IN HOUSE! Homemade kimchi tastes so much better than store bought ones, so if you want to try kimchi the way that Koreans actually eat it, you need to check this spot out. It also comes out on top of a portable stove so you can keep the food warm all night long. I also got the Chicken Katsu Dinner Combo which came with the katsu, california rolls, salad, rice, and tempura pieces. The Katsu was on the thicker end from other Korean style katsus I've had, which I loved. It comes with a Korean style Katsu sauce, which I personally prefer over the other ones! The other side dishes were good, but the one that stood out to me the most was the salad. I know, I think I'm crazy too. They have a house made blueberry salad sauce that was crazy good. The Braised Black Cod w/ Spicy Sauce or Eundaegu Jorim was also delicious. The fish was marinated well along with other ingredients such as potatoes, radish, and tofu. If you prefer fish over meats, I would recommend this dish! Staff: The staff were all friendly and quick! However, my tolerance for spicy food is on the lower side, so the beef short rib soup and the beef kal guk soo soup are my top choices. On one visit, I decided to try a sushi roll instead of getting soup. I had low expectations for the sushi, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the roll. The portions are generous, and the food has been good every time so far. The restaurant is small, but I have never had to wait for a table, probably because the staff is fast and gets the food served quickly. I've had my eye on this place for quite a while now but I like to wait a couple months to a year before I eat somewhere especially a Korean restaurant because my expectations are high. The extremely high rating with over 100 reviews is quite impressive with the large amount of reputable Korean restaurants all over Buena Park. My mom and I entered the empty restaurant a little bit after they opened at 11:20 AM or so and was greeted right away. We were seated right away and were served our waters. Here's what we ordered: **Spicy Squid Hot Stone Bibimbap: This was easily the WORST spicy squid hot stone bibimbap I've ever had. First of all, the squid was extremely rubbery and had no flavor at all. The vegetables were not seasoned at all either and was very bland. The dish as a whole was very disappointing. **Grilled Atka Mackerel: I didn't personally taste this dish myself but my mom did mention that it was extremely salty. She generally loves crispy fish skin but it was unbearably salty that she could not eat any of it. I have the same taste buds as her so I believe it if she said it was really salty. However, the inside of the mackerel was edible but so much was wasted. The banchan was collectively very bad as well. The broccoli dish was extremely sweet and sour. The spicy cucumbers were overbearingly sweet. The fish cake dish was also very heavy on the sugar. The only decent banchan was the kimchi but that wasn't even up to par. The food came out fairly quickly but they don't serve the banchan until your whole meal comes out. This is a great establishment for the college students nearby but as a Korean American living in Southern California, this is F-tier Korean food and I do not recommend this spot. There is too much left to be desired that I will not be back. Only upside to this restaurant is that the service is great, interior is spacious, and there's plenty of parking available. Don't let the almost perfect rating fool you. All the lower rated reviews have the same issues whether is the overly salty foods or the extremely sweet and low quality banchan offerings. It is a fantastic family-style restaurant that is a great choice if you are searching for delicious Korean comfort foods. The Bossam (Korean-style boiled pork wraps), Donkatsu (Korean-style pork cutlet), Hameul Paejon (seafood scallion pancake), and Kalgooksu (Korean knife-cut noodle soup) were all very good. Other popular dishes at this restaurant include Galbi JJim (braised beef short ribs), Galbi Tang (beef short rib soup), Dolsat Bibimbap (stone pot bibimbap), and Naengmyeon (cold noodles). There is also a tasty variety of freshly prepared banchan (complimentary sides). The Kalgooksu ($18) was comforting and the rich seafood broth had a nice umami flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked: bouncy, chewy, and soaked up the broth. The noodle soup dish includes shrimp, mussels, onion, scallions, and sliced zucchini, and is topped with roasted laver. I am not certain it was on the menu. There is a beef version, however, that is. The Bossam ($45) is a delicious steamed pork with napa cabbage dish meant to be shared. It was accompanied by ssamjang (vinegar and miso-infused hot chili paste dipping sauce [gochujang] for wraps), spicy garlicky radish salad, sliced jalapenos, and raw garlic. I had hoped there was the addition of some fermented shrimp dipping sauce along with the ssamjang. Nevertheless, the pork was tender, thickly sliced, plentiful, and well-seasoned from being cooked in a flavorful brine. The Hameul Paejon ($28) was crispy, savory, infused with the umami flavors of mixed seafood and scallions. The soy sauce-based dipping sauce was excellent. It is a crowd-pleasing appetizer and also good for enjoying it with beer or soju. The Donkatsu ($20), called King Donkatsu here, was the best-tasting dish we tried and the most reasonably priced. The pork cutlets were nice and crispy and the meat was pipping hot and juicy. The dish was accompanied by shredded cabbage topped with a creamy, tangy tonkatsu sauce that you eat with the cutlet and some rice. The donkatsu was nearly as good as what you would find at donkatsu establishments and more budget-friendly. The variety of delicious banchan included traditional kimchi, sliced cucumber kimchi, fish cake, sauteed spinach, soy sauce-based sliced daikon, lightly marinated soybean sprouts, broccoli salad, and sweet dried shredded cuttlefish. The service was excellent. We were warmly greeted, the servers were friendly and attentive, and our orders came quickly. The manager offered my mother a complimentary cup of sikhye, a refreshing traditional Korean sweet rice drink. The interior is all newly refurnished, clean, and well-maintained. The seating is plentiful and well-spaced. Due to its rather inconspicuous location - technically located in northwest Buena Park but borders La Palma where you will find few Korean restaurants - this restaurant has been open for a year but has gone under the radar. The food and service both seem consistently great, and I may prefer to come here again over many other Korean restaurants in Buena Park which I have reviewed before and are more well-known. The shopping plaza that it is in has been around for decades, and I don't ever remember a traditional Korean spot being within the plaza. SO HAPPY to have good Korean food near by. So we won't need to travel to GG along Garden Grove Blvd between Magnolia & Brookhurst! Well...we may, however, a local place is so much easier! They've only been open 5 months, yet they've garnered 4-1/2 stars on Yelp. MIL had the cold noodle soup(Naengmyeon). Served with sliced beef, shredded daikon, (hot mustard, vinegar & soy sauce accompanying in bottles). She was VERY happy with the flavorful broth & chewy potato starch noodles. A winner. Crazy me felt like tofu stew (Sundubu jigae). Pork, soft tofu in a yummy gojuchung broth. Heat level adjustable. This was really good, even in 90* weather . We shared the scallop baked sushi roll. REALLY good. Generous serving of scallops in a creamy possibly Kewpie mayo sauce atop an imitation crab & avocado sushi roll. Kind of messy, but really yummy. Since I'm a BTS army, we had a quick chat with the owner. Talked about mandatory military for Korean men. Jin's recent discharge,etc. We will be back. Clever and fitting name for this eatery since it serves a wide variety of Korean comfort food and sushi rolls. I really should take advantage of its variety but have mainly been here for tofu soup and katsu. The tofu soup has been solid in flavor. My wife always gets the assorted one while I just stick with beef. Spiciness ranges from mild to spicy, but spicy isn't painfully spicy. My only complaint is the temperature of the soup as it wasn't bubbling hot like some places. Although it was still hot, didn't think it was hot enough to cook the raw egg properly. Shrimp Katsu was excellent. Batter was super crispy, and loved the blueberry slaw dressing, which is something I haven't seen before. Service has been friendly although food came out a bit slow. It wasn't uncomfortably slow, but slow enough to make me peek over the kitchen. Easy parking, as it's in the same plaza as Chase Bank and Ross. read more

We went here today for the first time because I was craving bossam. We went in right before 3pm so it was empty but we got amazing service from the owner. The place was clean and spacious and the menu was clear with pictures. She brought out all the different banchan which were quite tasty. I believe we got 6 different things like kimchi, fishcakes, cucumber kimchi, and so on. I ordered the napa cabbage wrap with pork bossam and it was huge and probably meant for like 4 people but I didn't care. The pork was tender and it came with the blanched salted Napa cabbage, two kinds of radish thins, garlic, jalapeños, green onions and something that was like kimchi but with some kind of radish, onions and I think perilla leaves. It of course came with ssamjang and it was all amazing. My husband got the pork donkatsu lunch special that came with a healthy portion of the katsu (which was very crispy), mixed tempura, California rolls and salad. We also got the cheesy potato pancake (which we forgot to take a pic of) for my little one and that was fantastic! It was like a really crunchy hash down with mozzarella cheese on top. Simple but so good. My little 6 year old loved the cheesy potato pancake but also loved the fish cake banchan, kimchi and japchae banchan that the owner happily refilled for us. My little one said she loved the food here and I agree. We didn't finish our food and the owner gladly boxed it all us for us and added little new to go sauces for us. I want to come back and try more dishes. Plus the service was great and the owner, Jennifer was so sweet and friendly. This place is new and I think more people should come try. read more

I came with our family for Sunday lunch and we tried the spicy mixed noodles, bossam, seafood pancake, and the galbijjim. Everything was delicious- my picky Korean parents even gave this place their stamp of approval! The service was really good and the restaurant is very clean and spacious. The portions were also really big and prices are really fair so it's a great place for large groups! Can't wait to be back! read more
