Went here to celebrate my wife's birthday on a Friday night since we had not had Brazilian steakhouse in a while. We were both very impressed! The food, drinks and service were all phenomenal. Staff was extremely attentive. I drink a ton of water at all times and it was constantly being refilled. The meats were perfectly cooked. And the drinks! Oh my. The smoked peach old fashioned is the bomb! The ambiance is great. They had a DJ there playing EDM/trance music when we got there so it was pretty lively. I think it turns into a club after hours but I didn't stick around long enough to find out. Overall, awesome place. Definitely recommend it for a date night or celebration. read more

There seemed to be a limited meat selection - the servers kept being out the same cuts (top sirloin, bottom sirloin, occasionally shrimp). All cuts were extremely dry and not seasoned well. One of the experiences one looks for when dining at a churrascaria is the cut of the meat - the cuts served were too big, hence the dryness and lack of taste. This is the second time that we dined here - as with any of my critiques, I hope the establishment looks at this as an opportunity for improvement. read more

If you love steakhouses just like I do, this is the place. Such a beautiful atmosphere and the level of service is beyond excellent. Once you step off the elevator you are greeted with a smile right away. You get complementary pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) now it's addictive. The salad bar was super fresh and tasty. If you love bacon, the candied bacon is a must. The steaks such as filet mignon, ribeye, lamb shops, top sirloin, tenderloin were so tender and juicy it melted in my mouth. It comes straight from the grill to your plate. The sweet pineapple is a must. The food is perfectly seasoned and the flavor of the food is amazing. The desserts were so rich and the texture was perfect. Gauchos do sul is perfect for a special occasion or no occasion at all. I know my meats, Gauchos do sul is without a doubt the best Brazilian steakhouse in Houston. The service was impeccable and attentive. I highly recommend it. Honestly, for HRW it was an experience and I've never done fine dining until I started HRW this year. We were celebrating a special occasion and I made a reservation a few days prior. The only thing that I will hit on this restaurant for is for this one reason (story behind it): - birthday boy wanted to add an extra person to the reservation which is fine (since I made the reservation, I'll just give them a call and add 1 more). I called (the day of when I'm supposed to dine in) and as I was trying to adjust my reservation I made earlier in the week, the current person I was speaking to couldn't find my reservation. I was super frustrated because why didn't the person who took my reservation earlier in the week locked it in? If I didn't call in to "change my reservation" we would have had a wait time for a table to be available. Already frustrated that the person on the phone was asking me if I had the right location and reservation, I was like you know what, I'm glad I called in and had to make a NEW RESERVATION. I even have a call log of when I called this establishment before I came in. Yes I understand you're busy, yes I understand it's COVID rn, but I work in the restaurant industry and losing someone's reservation or not evening creating it is like losing someone's food order. It's the small key details like this that keeps me wanting to dine in frequently. Food was great, and what not. But the reservation mishap is unacceptable especially if it's high end/fine-dining. We were in highland village and we walked by Gauchos randomly not knowing what it was. It's a towering building with Gauchos sitting at the top over looking the road from 3 sides. So we decided to Yelp it and look into the place and realized it was the same Brazilian concept as their competition. From the valet service to the food and staff, this place is/was absolutely exceptional. The food was exquisitely tasting. I have been to Chama and Fogo numerous times over the years. While they are great they have lost their way due to customers knowing what to expect. However, Gauchos blew the cover off the dining experience. Their attention to detail, created an exceptional experience. Not to mention the drinks of course. Try their espresso martini, it's my go to at steakhouses and they are on par with the best I've ever had. We will definitely be coming back! Thanks Gauchos! read more

Pretty solid Brazilian steakhouse but not the best I've had and definitely the most expensive. The caipirinhas were good but did not have much of a passion fruit flavor. Most the meats that I had were pretty good but the picanha was very disappointing. It was not good, under seasoned and actually the worst picanha I have had. I did not end up finishing the slice that I got and it was the cut I was looking forward to the most. The bottom sirloin and ribeye were my most favorite and were tender and juicy. The salad bar was pretty disappointing and they did not have too many options. Most the Brazilian steakhouses I have been to have had double the amount of options at their salad bars for a cheaper price. Did not get to try out that many beef cuts, they did not have a menu and after we left I wondered what cuts I missed out on and I checked for a menu online. We were not offered the filet mignon, beef ribs, Kobe Texas beef, pork loin or pork ribs which was pretty disappointing once I found out. So we pretty much received only half the options on the menu for 68$. Service was pretty good and everyone was friendly. Will not be back as there are much better Brazilian steakhouses for a cheaper price with more options. 6.5/10 read more

Nice crowd. The service was great and probably the highlight of the visit. The food was so so. The salad bar does not compete w Chauma Gaucha or even Fogo. The meats, while cooked very nicely lacked seasoning. The house special picahna and the sirloin was tasty, but the leg of lamb was totally bland. The lamb chops were cooked nice but not flavorful. For the price of this spot I was disappointed. The DJ playing rave music for dinner was a poor touch. I don't see this going far on its current course. This has to be one of the best Brazilian steakhouses in the country. My partner and I have traveled a lot and this has to be the highest quality of food and service we have ever received. This restaurant is very chic with high energy music. The staff is very warm and friendly. Our server was very good in explaining how it works and recommending certain cuts of meat. The salad bar is very good with an awesome fresh selection of exotic cheeses and cured meats. The cuts of meat offered are phenomenal. From their house specialty to the Texas Kobe the meats are very flavorful and fulfilling. The sausage and shrimp are very tasty as well. The drinks that my partner and I ordered were prepared to perfection. I had a lemon drop martini with Grey goose my partner had one of the drinks on the menu and they were very good. I believe the bartenders are certified mixologists if not they should be. The environment, the staff, and the taste of the food is well worth visiting this establishment. When it came to the desert we were stuffed but we tried it anyways and the desserts were pretty good. They have a good selection of dessert cordials and cocktails. Definitely would highly recommend this place. Word of advice make sure you come hungry because the food is unlimited. read more
