You first walk into the charming place from an alleyway off one of my favorite streets in downtown St. Augustine.. Aviles Street. Once inside you immediately realize how special this gem is.. and you have not even had the food yet! We had a variety of pan fried pierogis, topped with onions (you can add bacon too!) and sour cream. The Horiatiki salad was so good with tons of feta and ripe tomatoes. The Greek salad was also very traditional and tasty. Lentil soup was special.. but the Yemista was so full of flavor we may have to go back just for it again. Worse part was the bread.. and that was easy enough to avoid lol. A definite must when you visit the ancient city for sure!

Had lunch at this place which has authentic Polish & Greek food. Food was delish. Service was good. Ambiance could be better with some upgrades inside, however, all the time we were there, they played lovely music from these two countries. If you are in the area, try this place out, and consider sharing your experiences. Happy meals!

This was such an awesome little find tucked away in an alleyway, the only reason we knew about it was because our trolley driver mentioned it was his favorite restaurant in st augustine. It was a chillier day so pierogis sounded amazing! We started with the Greek sampler platter that had tzatziki, eggplant salad, and hummus as well as olives and tomatoes. It was served with warm pita and other types of bread SO GOOD. We also had the grape leaves which were extremely tasty with feta, tomato and onion. I had their borsch (theirs was warm) with beet cubes and mushroom dumplings OUTSTANDING. For mains, i had the blueberry pierogis which were so unique i had to try. The only problem is they are pretty sweet they come with sour cream but also whipped cream and brown sugar. Still delicious but i wished i chose a cheese and potato. My friend had a stew that came with 4 savory pierogis and she really enjoyed it. you can tell this place is authentic! Waiter was quick and helpful. One thing is the indoor seating is freezing so bring a coat or sit outside like we did.

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday when restaurant opened. This place has a unique menu of Greek and Polish food. This is a small cafe with about 8 tables. No outside tables. The food and service were excellent. We were a party of four. We ordered spinach pie, gyro, pierogis, Greek sampler platter, and baklava. The portions are large. Food seemed all home made. Hours are 11-6 pm, closed on Tuesday. No parking as it is in the historic district. Best to walk or Uber.

The food is always really tasty. We've been here several times and it never disappoints. I ordered the stuffed cabbage platter that comes with pierogies. I ordered the plum sweet pierogies and they were the most delicious tasting pierogies I've ever had. My husband got just pierogies and was not disappointed. My youngest son ordered the kielbasa platter and blueberry pierogies. He said the sauerkraut was the best he's had! My oldest son had the hunters stew and loved it too! Service was excellent and helpful. The restaurant was packed for a Saturday afternoon but we could talk and not have to yell. Definitely recommend if you love Greek food or Polish. One of our places to eat.

Mustard- best part of the meal.

Meh. Wanted authentic kielbasa, what we got was like Hillshire Farm. Mustard was really good. Made the sausage tolerable. Pierogis were good, but nothing special. Expensive for what you get. $75 for three people. Gyro wasn't lamb, pretty sure it was grisly pork. While it's a nice alternative to have for variety over fast food, it's not going to satisfy anyone looking for real Greek or Polish fare.

One of our favorite spots in St. Augustine. Very quaint- only a handful of tables . The vibe is very casual, homecooked hearty meal. The food is amazing and the servings are hefty. The server was super friendly and knowledgeable. We had the kielbasa lunch special with meat peirogis and Bigo, and then potato and cheese pierogis. Yum!

This is their Krupnik (Barley Soup). Absolutely delicious on a cold day. (Only available in certain times of the year)

I've spent a lot of time in St. Augustine, yet yesterday was my first experience at this hidden gem. The food was fresh and delicious. A little more pricey than I expected, but I feel it was well worth the amount and the flavor of the food. Everyone there was friendly and willing to give suggestions on the menu. The restaurant is small, but it conveys a homey, relaxed environment. I highly suggest you check them out on your next trip!

Authentic, homemade polish and Greek dishes! I am so happy I stumbled across this gem.. It felt like I was sitting in my grandparents kitchen. The spicy coconut soup was savory and kept us guessing on the ingredients. The pierogis were freshly homemade and flavorful and the "small" Greek salad was huge with large portion of gyro meat. Highly recommend, I am visiting St. Augustine for a short time and I am even tempted to return!

Outstanding Polish and Greek fare in old town - bring a basket so you can take home some of the goods and your leftovers! We were in twice, snd got to sample several dishes, each of which was mouthwateringly delicious. Chug down some Czech ale with your meal or choose from one of the many unique beer offerings. Staff was great, we had a blast with Radic. The space is small but comfy with tons of memorabilia as well as a few outdoor tables. No reservations so get there early, go for lunch, or bring your patience!

What a small place this is. But great food. Was here about a month ago on a mother and daughter trip. Found it by accident and we were hungry! It's on a tiny street, and so cute. We ordered a appetizer with different food items like stuffed cabbage, a olive spread that I really enjoyed. I can't remember the other items but we both enjoyed everything on the plate. We also had champagne to celebrate mother and daughter! Hit this place up! It's a Portuguese and Poland food! Very friendly too! Definitely have to bring my husband here. They have Kabasa and he loves Kabasa. Look for Radi she was so out going, very friendly, plansant and I could have chatted with all day. Make sure you give her a visit!

AMAZING hospitality especially during busy seasons-- food was fantastic and we all enjoyed the more unique beer and wine selection. atmosphere was perfect:)

Radi served us Cappucino with happy faces.

From the first bite, you know this is homemade and it was outstanding!. I have become a snob with corned beef, hash, and I think I just found my favorite, worth a 30 minute drive for sure. Today we had the long-term server, Marcia, who was very knowledgeable but short with time because they were busy. She was friendly and helpful. The biscuits I have to say were not my favorite and I was not a fan of them. First, I don't like them grilled. I've never seen that before and second they were bread more than biscuits. I guess I'm spoiled because I like buttermilk biscuits and this was definitely not it. However, Marcia was very kind and brought me a biscuit that was not grilled however still was not a fan. The omelette was delicious and extremely flavorful. The gouda was smoked, which added even more flavor. Very delicious. All the omelettes are served with an option of a side of hash browns, home fries or grits and choice of toast or biscuit. It definitely is a large portion and you will be full. Great spot!

From the moment we walked in, the space felt clean, bright, and welcoming, with a simple Mediterranean style that made it comfortable to dine in. There was a steady stream of customers coming and going, both dining in and picking up takeout, which immediately told us this place has built a loyal following. The food is where The Great Greek really shines. We started with the four dip combo, and honestly, that alone is worth the visit. The hummus was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor without being heavy. The tirokafteri had a bold kick that built just enough heat to keep things interesting. Paired with plenty of warm, soft pita, it is an easy dish to share and one we would happily order every time. For our main dishes, I ordered the gyro, which I often use as a benchmark when trying a Greek restaurant. The meat was flavorful, the pita was fresh, and the tzatziki sauce really stood out, tying everything together beautifully. The feta fries were another highlight and were hard to stop eating. Susan ordered the Atlantic salmon, and it ended up being the biggest surprise of the meal. It was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and paired with sides that complemented the fish rather than overpowering it. Portion sizes are generous, pricing feels very fair for the quality and amount of food, and service was friendly and efficient throughout our visit. Even though this is a counter service restaurant, staff brought the food to the table and checked in to make sure everything was just right. We even left with leftovers and dessert to enjoy later, which is always a good sign. What we thought would be a quick meal turned into a really enjoyable dining experience. This is a restaurant we will absolutely be returning to and one we are happy to recommend to anyone looking for great Greek food done well.

And eating out now is so expensive that the meal better be worth it.   Sadly, I'm not going back to the Athenian Owl. (Even though Georgia promised to set me up with a nice Greek man.) My biggest complaints were the TINY servings for mostly overpriced dishes (especially the Souvlaki and the grilled Octopus), and the comically bad service .... Especially maddening is that a steady Greek Chorus of customers have lodged similar complaints on Google and Yelp -- all seemingly to no avail. Georgia's son George, the otherwise friendly owner, responds to each critical review with only a sarcastic "Have a Blessed Day!"  The Athenian Owl offers a big variety of home-style, traditional Greek dishes. The family launched it about a decade ago -- after opening and running for years, then selling -- the still-popular Athens Cafe. I hosted a luncheon for four. I prepared a tasting menu of shared platters (see orange menu photo), and went to the restaurant days ahead to go over it with Georgia. I prepaid $292, no drinks, tax included. I left a $50 cash tip at the table (frankly, that was kind).   Greeks are huge on hospitality, and take pride in being generous hosts. And they eat big. Even an ordinary Greek meal feels like Thanksgiving, with loosened belts and emergency naps ....  So, when skimpy platters landed on the table, I was taken aback -- and upset. Days later, I'm still upset .... I've eaten hundreds of Greek meals (was even fed Greek baby food! lol), and I have Never, EVER, seen such skimpy servings! It was like that old TV ad: Where's the beef?   BEST: -- Hummus dip w/ pita -- Saganaki flambé: fried Kefalograviera cheese. Alas, instead of a dramatic fiery show, the waitress lit only a small flame that quickly extinguished. Still tasty, but disappointing. -- Spanakopita: Spinach & Feta w/ phyllo crust. Get the entree pie, not the appetizers' triangles. But $20/slice is too high -- Grilled Vegetable Souvlaki -- Sautéed Mushrooms w/Capers: not on the menu, but it's the Riganato dish, minus the lemon sauce -- Baklava: phyllo pastry of chopped nuts & syrup -- Galaktoboureko: custard pie w/phyllo crust & syrup JUST OK: -- Pastichio: Greek lasagna. Too little ground beef. And I couldn't detect any cheese or sauce. It was mostly just noodle, ridiculous at $21/portion. The bechamel rescued it for me, but my guests barely touched it. -- Dolmades: stuffed grape leaves. So-so, saved by the lemon sauce topping. Dolmades at the Whole Foods' buffet are tastier -- and they come from a can! -- Elliniki salad: good tomatoes and vinaigrette. Tasteless Feta chunks. Overrun w/ onion. HARD PASS: -- Souvlaki: each Kebob chunk was TINY. And the serving sizes were also galling. I ordered 3 skewers of chicken ($30) and 2 of lamb ($24), and we barely got half the meat that's typically served at other Greek venues -- at like twice the price! .... I was so irked that I called Georgia over. C'mon, chicken is cheap. I've had bigger and better for 10 bucks at street food trucks.  -- Grilled Octopus: a Greek specialty, and traditionally a signature dish. I complained to Georgia again: Not only was the serving not the customary entire tentacle, but it was also the world's thinnest. What, was this the last octopus in the ocean? At $24: another rip-off. -- Avgolemono: supposed to be thick and creamy soup, with a lemony egg broth. It was thin, as if watered-down. Almost no chicken or rice. -- Lemon Roasted Potatoes: lemon? undercooked  -- Orzo "Rice": the waitress delivered this pasta side after the meal was over. Literally a "leftover," so I took it home. Blah.  Speaking of the waitress: Other reviewers here have often cited woeful service. Our waitress was nice and well-meaning, but .... She forgot the Orzo. Ditto the Tzatziki yogurt dip and pita w/ the Souvlaki. She screwed up the Saganaki flambé. She delivered the meals in the wrong sequence. She even had to be reminded twice to bring the bread basket .... What's nuts: She didn't have to write down a single dish -- it was all pre-ordered! And, she had only a few other tables. Luckily, Georgia often checked-up and pitched-in. I bumped-up a Star here for her.

It was a little bit of a drive away, near the beach, and there was absolutely no parking on a Friday night. My husband dropped me off and circled while I placed a few to go orders. It was a cute little shop with donuts, shakes, and ice cream. The donuts are not traditional donuts; more like deep fried donut holes that are covered with all kinds of yummy toppings. They're also served nice and hot and in 10 packs. They had lots of cool donut flavors like: Dark Delight, Maple Bacon, , White Tella, and Love U Matcha, The prices range from $8.75 to $9.50 per box. They all sounded yummy; but we decided on Twix Fix, drizzled with caramel, melted chocolate, and cookies, and Lotus Crunch, which was topped with melted Biscoff cookies. Our order was ready in about 5 minutes and the bag of donuts was nice and warm. We ate them when we got back home. They were more chewy and heavier than regular donut holes, but rich and delicious. You could really only eat a few; so a box of 10 is a decent sized dessert for 2 people to share. Lukumades is definitely a very unique donut experience and worth supporting because they're not a huge chain. You'll be glad you tried them....and its worth the drive.
