Dr. was said to be in-network re: my insurance, but I later found out he was not. He was riding on the coat tails of his mother, who was a dentist and in-network with my insurance. While in the reclining dental chair, I was given a contract to sign indicating a ridiculous amount for a crown, which I thought would largely be covered by the insurance. Later, I found out the Dentist was no longer in network, and I had to pay a larger amount for services than if he was in network. He never disclosed to me that he was no longer in-network. A family member had a similar insurance issue, which is deceitful and unethical practice. I later contacted the office manager numerous times to find out if the Dr. was working on being in-network with my insurance company. The office manager did not return any of my calls or texts. Months later, I called to find out why I hadn't been contacted regarding an upcoming dental cleaning and I was told there is no cleaning scheduled. It is my belief that the office manager unilaterally removed me from the scheduled visit and did not notify me. I was given another date for teeth cleaning and was told by office staff that she would look into the previous scheduling issue and get back to me which she did not. Today, I went to my scheduled teeth cleaning appointment and was told that the teeth cleaning was not today. Prior to speaking to the assistant, I saw the office manager enter the door, much after the office opened. She was dressed unprofessionally and did not acknowledge me and seemed to avoid me, allowing the dental assistant to help me. The dental assistance, who took my call weeks before, made excuses as to why she did not get back to me regarding the previous scheduling issue. When I was told my appointment did not exist, I explained that this was unacceptable and the numerous incidents with this office was unprofessional. The assistant referred me to the office manager, who was out of sight the whole time I was speaking to the assistant. The office manager, who at the time was hiding around the corner in the office appeared in front of me and I explained to the office manager, that I was upset that she never returned my calls or texts regarding the insurance issue. She replied that she did, and I explained that I never received any returned call or texts. She continued to speak to me in an unprofessional manner and kept stating she emailed me back. I told her to have the Doctor, contact me regarding my concerns but as of yet I have not received a call from the Doctor. In my opinion the office manager is rude, less than honest, and the issues that I've experienced with this office is unprofessional and deceitful. I would not recommend this office due to the experiences as mentioned within. read more

Thank Goodness! Finally a dentist i can trust to take good care of me. I don't know what i would have done? I just spent a ton of money a few years ago on crowns and work that the dentist had fixed from the previous dentist that jacked me up! So it turns out that ALL the work i had done was done improperly and there were cavities under the crowns GROSSSSSSSSSSSS. They weren't seated properly, my bite was off and it was an overall hot mess, that i was totally unaware of this because i went to the dentist for a checkup just 8 mos. prior to my appointment with Dr. G. and they said "everything was fine", how is that possible? I was a patient of Dr. Gavrila's in the early 2000's and moved away from the area. I tried several different dental offices over the years and the dental care and detail to work just wasn't the same. I'm so grateful I ran into Dr. Gavrila last year to remind to make an appt with her. I'm back under her care and feel so comfortable and know that I'm well taken care of. As a patient of Dr. Gavrila's for almost 10 years, I switched dentists about 2 years ago after being diagnosed with 2 phantom cavities that required fillings at a quoted cost of about $900. The price seemed extremely high so i got the opinion of 2 other dentists and a Periodontist. None of these individuals found any decay where Dr. G was going to do the 2 fillings. I showed x-rays and still these 3 other professionals found nothing. After this I finally realized it was all about driving up the cost of dental care. You have to wonder when you get taken into a small office to review your ability to finance the work that is about to be done. Prior to this, Dr. Gavrila had me do 3 crowns and 3 root canals on wisdom teeth, this cost over $10,000 ($2,000 per crown and $1,000 plus per root canal). Add an extra $500 per tooth on 3 extractions over the next 2 or 3 years. All 3 of these crowned wisdom teeth were pulled on different occasions. Ask any dentist if they would suggest a crown, let alone a root canal on a wisdom tooth.... the answer is NO, pull the wisdom tooth Unfortunately for me, Dr. Gavrila is the only one doing this to the best of my knowledge. Never once was I told this work was being done on wisdom teeth and a more rational and economical decision would be to just pull the wisdom teeth. Her pitch was, "let's save the tooth." My insurance was nominal so most of the work done was paid in cash. Most dental professionals offer a break for cash, but not Dr. G., in fact I think there was a premium. Dr. Sarah Sibbach, my new dentist in Chino Hills, just replaced several of Dr. G's crowns. The cost was half of what it would have been and the workmanship was equal or better than Dr. Gavrila. Dr. G is a skillful dentist but she has no consideration for the cost of her services to her patient. I am writing this review two years later because I feel she took advantage of my wife and I. We trusted her and went along thinking she had our best interests in mind when managing our dental care. read more

As a practicing dental specialist in the community; I was suffering major tooth like sensitivity's; felt many of my upper back teeth needed root canals quite possibly if these symptoms wouldn't subside ! Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous!!! I'm a people person and love connecting with good people. Dr. Gavrila and her staff truly enjoy what they do and it shows in their quality of work! After many years taking my own teeth for granted, Dr. Gavrila showed me why my teeth were so important and I am now taking every precaution to keep my teeth as healthy as possible for as long as I live. You can really see her passion for teeth. I had about fifteen (15) gray fillings that were not replaced for 15+ years. They were completely open and honest with me and showed me everything that was going on in my mouth, going in with a camera and taking pictures of each tooth, thoroughly examining and educating me about what was going on inside there. It is a very bad situation where I needed 2 crowns, 2 on-lays and to replace all existing fillings to white fillings. I was turned off by the pricing after the evaluation, but after sitting down with Erica and going through what my options were and listening to her feedback, I realized that the money was worth the quality that I was going to receive, it basically came down to how much I valued my teeth. It's been a work in progress, I have completed half of my mouth thus far with the other half to go. I couldn't be happier with the results and care thus far. Everyone is great and adores Dr. Gavrila. There are many personalities in the office so it's never dull. They are simply a great group of people, it's no wonder Dr. Gavrila has had her office for 30+ years and her son Alex who is also a practicing dentist is getting personally trained from one of the best in the industry. Dr. Gavrila and her staff are amazing! I have huge fear of the dentist due to a traumatic incident when I was a child. Dr. Gavrila's demeanor and ability are top notch! Today was just a cleaning and thorough dental evaluation. I do have a broken tooth and am going back next week to have the work done. I feel comfortable knowing that Dr. Gavrila will be handling my care. My mouth feels incredibly clean and the hygienist explains the best way for me (you) to floss to elevate any issues. They also have a laser they use to kill bacteria and assist with your gums. No pain and my gums continue to get healthier with every visit. I am suffering from TMJ and have seen another dentist before I met Dr Gavrila. He had me running around 24/7 with a bite stabilizer (guard) and never saw an improvement. Dr. G took impressions to study my case and had me come back for an bite adjustment. Immediately after that visit I experienced an huge improvement. I will need to see her again for possible more adjustment next week and after 1 1/2 years of pain while eating and not being able to open width it feels like she can help me and get me out of pain. I went to Dr. Gavrila after having a bad root canal and being in pain. She got me in immediately and took care of my problem. Throughout the years I always had some problem come up every 6 months with other dentists that were costly eve though I brushed 3 times a day and flossed every night! When I went to Dr. Gavrila, she found that the dental work I had done previously was not done correctly, which was the reason why I always had issues. I had to have all the fillings redone. BUT LISTEN!! Before she does anything, she shows you your teeth with a small camera. You get to see the gaps and cracks in fillings. I saw for myself that the work needed to be redone, and it was all my decision to pay for it. After I had all the work redone...about 3 years ago, I have not had any more dental work. Every crown and filling in my mouth is sealed and I go in for my 6 month check ups only. She is amazing!!!! She is the only dentist that has called my house after a crown is placed to make sure I am feeling fine and doing well. She only does x-rays once a year, unless there is pain, which I like. Nothing is ever pushed on you and all expenses are told to you upfront before any work is completed. You agree to the work before it is performed. An added bonus, is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. And they remember you!!! The office is clean and welcoming. I recommend Dr. Gavrila to anyone and everyone!!! read more

My experience with Dr. Gavrila was not a good one. After my prior dentist retired I saw an ad in a popular magazine for Dr. Gavrilla. I have never had any issues with my teeth and I hadn't had a cavity for 20 years, I always get a teeth cleaning twice a year. It was for a simple bi-yearly cleaning that I needed. It started with filling out all the paperwork including my insurance information. I have A+ insurance. I had all my x-rays taken and then met with Dr. Garrila. She and her assistant starting making notes about my teeth which seemed very unusual as it seemed like they were making a lot of notes . Long story short they basically told me my teeth were all but falling out. I needed so much work on my mouth that I almost fell over. I explained to her that I didn't understand this because my last cleaning went well with no work needed. She then had me walk over to the finance lady. After she told me what the total was after my insurance paid I was in shock. She wanted to know when I wanted to come back in for all this work and how I would be paying for it. I looked at the finance lady and said I would have to think about this. The finance lady gave me the scare tactic about not waiting too long because of the condition of my teeth. 1 month later I got a bill for $300.00. This was after my insurance paid for the normal teeth cleaning. When I called and told them that my insurance had already paid they told me I had to pay for the extensive report that the Doctor did. I was appalled by this and told her that someone should have told me I would be getting a $300.00 bill. I told her I felt like I was getting ripped off. I can't even imagine what they billed my insurance company. Anyway I paid the bill so that she didn't report me to the credit bureaus. But I will never recommend her to anyone ever. My mother is 90 yrs old and has been going to Dr Gavrila for over 20 years. She went in for her scheduled cleaning and asked to not have x rays taken as she has a routine cleaning done several times a year and did not want them done at this time. She was not given a choice and x rays were taken. She then got a bill which included the charge for the x rays. I called and spoke with the finance lady and told her that my mothers request was ignored and that she had specifically asked to not have x rays taken. The lady proceeded to tell me about the calif. state law that requires x rays be taken and that the $116 was due. I looked on line and found nowhere in California is there a law requiring x rays each year, in fact many reasons x rays could be considered dangerous that frequently. My mother is very upset and will not be going back to Dr. Gavrila. read more

I had a root canal done by another dr and started to have bad ear, neck, jaw pain. Couldn't open my mouth. Went back to dr who performed root canal where I was told I had tmj. I went to so many dentist in search of help and all of them sent me home with more ibuprofen. I called Dr. Gavrilas office and the receptionist was so nice and helpful. But when I went in for my appointment I was amazed at how beautiful and clean the office was!! I go back and Dr. Gavrila handled me with such tlc. I left with a aqualizer and that immediately relieved my jaw pain. I came home and slept which I hadn't been able to do in almost a month! And when I woke that evening I got a call from Dr. Gavrila. Amazing! I had a lot of very expensive dental work done at Bright Smile that was not done correctly. Crowns were not sealed and had decay. I went in as an emergency patient with horrible pain. Dr Gavrila is very knowledable! All the work I had previosly needed to be redone the right way. About two months prior I had just had a dental exam and was told I had zero cavities and problems. When I got a severe tooth ache I knew the prior dentist was incorrect. If you want to pay once for dental work done right this is the place to go. I absolutly love this dentist!
