I purchased the tires online, they offer a military / veterans discount, and they were the exact same price as if I would have bought them in sacramento, with one *BIG* exception. It' s Oregon, so no sales tax! I made an appointment online to have the tires changed here. I come in at my appointment time, and I am met by Will. Very friendly, very personable, very thorough, the same great service that I love getting from America's / discount tire. Will checks my ID, goes out to get the information that he needs from my car, and comes back. He tells me that my car will be ready in 45 minutes to an hour. Guess what? Only a little more than a half hour later, my car is sitting at the front door, ready to go. Will and I finalize all the paperwork, and my road trip continues. Instead of buying new rims I was recommended to get the rims buffed out and repainted. Thankfully I was told about this place in Vancouver. It doesn't take but an hour or so and they look brand new. Definitely a master at his craft. 10 out of 10 would definitely go back and use again if I needed this sort of service. Not cheap for my pocketbook, but it was cheaper than buying new rims for sure.

I've always purchased my tires at small, independent tire shops, back home in the South. I spent about a month researching and comparing Discount Tire, Les Schwab, Costco, Walmart, and a few independents. Les Schwab seemed to have the better warranties and services in Albany, OR, but their Yelp reviews were a little scary. So, I actually was leaning more towards DT. But, only Les Schwab had the Hankooks I wanted, and the rebate I wanted, and after talking with Jose (who was very patient, helpful, and nice), I decided to take a chance that the Yelp reviews didn't tell the whole story. I ordered my tires through Cesar, who was also just lovely. I'm (so far) very glad I did. My experience was nothing but positive...almost overwhelmingly so, in fact. The young man who checked me in was just as great as Jose and Cesar, but I'm afraid I lost track of his name. Maybe Lance? I talked to about two other people there, also great. I barely had time to check my email before they were finished putting my new tires on. So fast! They let me know the status of my brakes (which matched what my regular mechanic had told me just a week before), and a few other things, and gave me repair estimates. I immediately hit the freeway to test out my new Hankooks, and they drove like a dream. Thanks to the alignment they also did, I was able to keep her between the lines, hands free, for the first time in forever, so that was pretty cool. Obviously, I haven't had to use the warranty service, yet, having just gotten these a week ago, but if the future service I receive is even close to what I experienced here, I don't really see any reason to go anywhere else. So far, I'm really glad I took the chance, despite the low Yelp rating. If anything changes, I'll amend my review, but two thumbs way up for the crew at the Albany Les Schwab!

But honestly what I have loved about Les Schwab is gone maybe it's the corporate buyout unsure. If I needed my a flat repair, air, or rotation someone always greeted me when pulling up and these small tasks were completed in a matter of minutes, now no one greets customers and last 3 visits have exceeded 90 minutes for a rotation. Perhaps one bay should be reserved for drop by quick services so customer service reminiscent of the past could be provided. This most likely will be my last les Schwab tire purchase. I don't have 2 hours to get rotations done. I come from a generation of grandparents, parents, and my own children getting service from them but that most likely change

I had a hard to diagnose steering issue with a Ford Fusion, and I wasted a lot of time and money…read moretaking my vehicle to three different shops without the issue being fully resolved. A mechanic friend of mine recommended Hillyer's, It took a few weeks to get in, but they quickly and correctly diagnosed the issue (failing wheel bearing and bent steering knuckle). The knuckle had to be ordered so it did take a few more weeks to get the repair done, but when all was said and done they fixed the issue at a reasonable price, no more sticky steering, vibrating, and clunking. They also subtracted the $75 diagnostic fee from my final bill, which was appreciated. I would definitely recommend Hillyer's, and they will be my go to with any future suspension, alignment, or wheel issues.

That went pretty well and they turned out good, but the paint started coming off in a few weeks. I sent him some pics and he said he would fix them. Then I tried to get him to follow through. After setting times to drop them off multiple times and having him cancel, he then told me he had never had a problem like that and wouldn't fix them. What a disappointment James turned out to be. Totally wouldn't stand behind his work. Now I have to find someone else. I should post a zero review, but I can't figure out how to do that. What a waste of time and money. Also note that his shop is way up in the hills out of Gaston, so quite a drive when I first picked them up.

I finally dug out my old set of BBS RS 3-piece rims for refurbishing. I had heard of Skips…read moreWheelworks and visited the previous owner while it was in Beaverton. I called and spoke with Trent about my project to see if he, as the new owner, carried on with BBS refinishing. Trent confirmed that they do, so I set up a time to bring the rims and the car they were going on to him for a consultation/drop-off. Trent was just as nice in person as he was on the phone. He was really interested in the car as much as the rims. See photos. We talked about the process and specifically about the changes I wanted to make. I decided to go with the center color to match the lower body line color. While going through some BBS forum chats, I saw someone had done a similar color but added gold bolts. I called Trent and asked him if I could make the change from chrome to gold. Trent said it was no trouble; just order and send the bolts to the business. Shortly thereafter, I got a call from Trent that the rims were ready to be picked up. I took the car they were going on to pick them up so I could do a quick look to make sure what I had envisioned came through. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. The car draws attention, but most comments are about the rims. I would give Trent, Jim, and the rest of the crew a 6-star review for the skill and art they bring to refinishing. There is no hesitation from me where I will be taking my next set of rims for refinishing.

Jim means well, but I think he gets busy, and can't meet the lead-times he originally states. My daughter wanted the silver OEM wheels on her Chevy Cruze Premier repainted to a gloss black, so we brought them to FWO. The end result is exactly what we wanted, and it was a lot cheaper than trying to find the factory "Redline" wheels. The paint job is high quality, and it looks really nice. The areas for improvement include communication and lead-times. Initially we were given a completion date of 2 business days, and I told them they could take 3 if needed. When I called on the third day, they told me three rims were bent, and they needed to be straightened (for additional cost). I gave the go ahead, but I think they had our wheels confused with another project, because they never added on any other charges. The wheels & car ended up being ready for pick up on the sixth business day. As stated, the paint job is great, but the tires seemed haphazardly filled to random pressure levels, differing by a few PSI from corner to corner (that was an easy fix). They all hold air just fine, though; so no worries there. I would definitely recommend the work that Jim & FWO do, but just allow a little extra time for project completion.
