Blueberry Mule and Guiness draft! We only had drinks but they were good. A quick stop for a libation while seeing and showing Bim the craziness of Bar Harbor. The place is nuts on Memorial Day weekend but the funny bartender and the cold drinks helped us relax. (People and crazy ass busy downs drive us nuts!) The cocktail was tasty but mostly ice. The Guinness was cold and tasty.

Right in the middle of Bar Harbor's hustle and buzzle, we grabbed the last outdoor table at Leary's Landing Irish Pub -- perfect for people-watching and winding down after a day of exploring. The service wasn't exactly warm or helpful, but since we already knew what we wanted, it wasn't a dealbreaker. I ordered an Old Fashioned with chocolate bitters -- an unexpectedly delicious twist on the classic. My Shepherd's Pie was hearty and flavorful, especially paired with Leary's salad for a lighter balance. Meanwhile, my husband continued his personal mission to try lobster bisque at every restaurant in Maine -- and Leary's version earned solid marks as a runner-up on his bisque leaderboard. Rich, creamy, and satisfying, just shy of the gold medal. To keep it Irish, I finished with a Black & Tan -- a bit darker than my preferred Newcastle-and-Guinness blend, but still a fine way to toast the evening. Bottom line: Leary's Landing is a solid pub for hearty comfort food, good drinks, and prime people-watching. Service could use a smile or two, but the vibe -- and that bisque -- make it worth the stop.

Good food. Great service. Loved the look of the place, darkish and broody, bare brick walls. Packed in tight! Two of us are over 6' tall and in the neighborhood of 280 lbs. Seating was doable, but tight. However, this was a common theme for us in Bar Harbor. After too much seafood, it was nice to have some...earthier...options tonight.

Better Irish pub than the one by the waterfront. Guinness was nice and creamy we all had several pints. Lady behind the bar eventually warmed up to us and had some laughs. A lot Maine beers were on tap !

Lobster Roll

Unexpectedly the best lobster roll I had the entire time I was in Maine (and I had 3, all from different places)!

Food was great. Service was great. I sat on countertop height seating inside overlooking the Village Green square. Great views of the center of town. The restaurant has outdoor seatings as well as plenty of indoor seating. I ordered some shrimp tacos as a snack which was refreshing with a great dressing and some apple slices. Iced tea was also good. My friend got an old fashion and said it was good. Hopefully I get to try their sister restaurant, Social Kitchen and Bar next time.

Perfect pint!

Super friendly bartender and gave us some good travel tips for Maine. Guinness on draft too. Nuff said

The fish tacos are made with blackened haddock. They had awesome flavor and the fresh cut fries were good as well. The specialty root beer was great. Prices were decent for everything that we tried.

Great food and classic Irish pub decor. We stopped in for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and drinks we received. The portions were also good. Highly recommend for a quick good quality food option.

After a day spent road tripping from Portland to Bar Harbor to see Acadia National Park, we ended up in downtown BH and were pretty hungry after a day of adventuring, We fell for the vibe of this cool pub when we looked through the door and down the staircase into cool people territory. The menu had lots of hearty options as well as salad selections and craft cocktails. We put our names on the waiting list and found it very pleasant to peruse the nearby shops while we waited. Our server was great and we each enjoyed a couple of funky cocktails. Having not had lobster yet on our trip (we would have been absolutely roasted back home for NOT getting lobster at least once on our girl weekend), we learned that lobster is an add-on protein option. My friend with celiac was accommodated and we all had a smashing meal. The buzz of the pub crowd and the autumn tizzy of wearing jackets in September and being in such a beautiful state really just ended our day perfectly. The 3+ hour drive back to Portland was killer though, so I will be staying IN Bar Harbor when I take my kids back to complete our continental US road trip tour. We had a great meal here and are happy to have chosen this awesome pub as our dinner stop for the evening!

As we finished our day of Acadia National Park touring, we headed back into crowded and touristy downtown Bar Harbor to find a place for a simple dinner. We settled on Leary's Landing, based on Yelp reviews. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a host who was unfortunately lacking in the key skills of a host - to greet, welcome, and serve the customer. This guy was all about getting you out of the way and into a table as quickly as possible. He pointed us to a table right by the host stand and said "I can seat you here." I asked if they had anything not so close to the busy and crowded entrance. He said it would be 15 minutes at best before anything opened up. We decided to accept the table and within two minutes two tables further interior opened up. We asked him to seat us at one of those and he did politely agree. We ordered a local IPA draft and another ale and our server was quick to attend to us. We both ordered the Fish & Chips and I added a Seafood Chowder. The chowder was excellent. Creamy, seasoned well, and beautifully presented in a wide, low soup bowl, topped with bacon bits and chopped scallions. The fish was beer battered in a Smithwicks Ale and too heavy on the batter for my liking. I prefer a more tempura type of batter on fish and chips. So I'd rate these as a three-star. However, the hand-cut fries were five-star! Expertly done, which is saying something as so many places can't get hand-cut fries correct. Leary's fries are worth a trip. Overall, it's a three-star rating. I'd call Leary's average for tourist fare in a crowded tourist town. If they upped their game on service, customer care, and simple Maine friendly, they'd score a four-star in my book.

After a morning riding bikes on the Acadia Park carriage roads in the rain - we were grateful to have a nice indoor spot for lunch. We were quickly able to get a table for 6, but we were there in a weekday at 11:30. When we were leaving - there wasn't very many empty seats so we were thankful we came early. We enjoyed our meals and my kids enjoyed their beers.

Best place to eat on the island. Fish and chips were the best. Had the ruban and it was the best I've had here in the states. Max, our waiter/server/bartender was fantastic. Great place must go if in Bar Harbor. If you're staying at the Ivy Manor it's the closest good restaurant. They also have cool t-shirts.

I had the burger special which was fucking fantastic! I was getting pretty tired of seafood at this point and it was the most refreshing change of pace. It was one of those just in time food experiences. C went for the crab cakes. What a gorgeous version of crab cakes they were! Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. If I lived nearby, I would be here all of the time. There were a ton of interesting menu items I would like to try. '26 - 26

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder. Even the blueberry beer came through; we got Orono's Wicked Maine Blueberry Ale, packed with actual blueberries floating up and down. Yes, we paid tourist prices, but we got generous, delicious portions and full bellies.

We had a wedge salad to start which was served a bit differently with their house-made vinaigrette. My husband chose the lobster enchiladas with rice and veggies and a cilantro cream sauce. These were VERY good and I was jealous. I loved them. I chose the fish of the day which was haddock with rice and veggies and a pesto sauce that was SO good! Very fresh and filling. Large filet of fish on this plate. For dessert, I wanted to try the Indian Pudding a la mode and our server informed me that it was very rich and was somewhat like pumpkin pie, ginger cookies and bread pudding. It was something different, but VERY potent and a bit much for us. We swapped it out for the blueberry apple crumble and were much happier with that. All in all, a wonderful dinner on a rainy night for my birthday. We'd happily come back to this spot for a date night while in town.
