I'm guessing our rep is from a Best Buy closer to IAD, but my review is specifically for the Geek Squad service rather than the Best Buy retail location itself. Buddy, thanks for making me look like such a valued member of my business. If I didn't have to troubleshoot or setup my coworkers' workstations almost every time we got a new one because you actually did your job right the first time around, I'd be a lot more compartmentalized here. Geek squad just lowered my expectations of the human race by two rungs. I'm trying to execute moms will and computer crashed. GS "fixed" it. But when I got it home, the photos wouldn't down load, and the printer scanner couldn't be found. Brought it back and asked to have it expedited due to my situation with my mom and that they are the ones responsible. When they said no. I said I want a manager. I was told that I was going to be thrown out of the store. I was told I was going to get banned from every store. He pointed to a police office and said he would have me removed. The police officer was not interested. And the manager Sieed says "I don't care if your mom died, my dad died two weeks ago".... They gave me a number to call. Still nothing is fixed. Germantown Best Buy and geek squad has a reason for in store protection. What would a man have done? "I don't care that your mom has died" has stuck with me. read more

How does Geek squad even exist? I called the end of March for big screen appointment to fix 55 in. Samsung. Lady checked all my info and said thanks for being a loyal customer. All good so made appointment for April 2nd and tech will call with 4-hour window. No contact whatsoever so I called a 2nd time. My appointment was cancelled because no longer repair Samsung tv's. Absolutely NOT TRUE and after more incoherent ramblings I terminated the call. An hour later I called for third time. This time nothing but apologies and I will set another appointment for you as soon as I find out when someone will be in your area. I forgot they come from India or other third world country. Still no response and 27th of April. Great customer service but normal for them and Corporate could care less and as always been their attitude. Much thanks for a non-job well done. I took two drives to the store to have them retrieve my data off of each drives. I paid $100 for each drive. They said that couldn't retrieve the data at the store, but could send them to another location and it and it would around $500 each. I brought the service plan for $200. Since they couldn't retrieve the data, I canceled the plan. I called customer service and they told me that my money would be back on my credit card in 5 business days. Call the following week, and they tell me that it will be on my credit card by the end of the week. It's been 11 business days, no money returned to my card. I called today (Friday) and now they say it will take 30 days for my money to be place back on my credit card! Is it company policy to say one thing two week in a row, then change it to something else? Worst service ever! read more

I have never had a problem in all the years I've used them. Until this month. They can't fix the problem with my computer. Changed the password to sign on that I didn't want to do. I was told I have to upgrade to windows 10, but the guy, I couldn't understand, wouldn't tell me if I would lose everything I have on my windows 8. I'm very disappointed in the help I've gotten this month. I suggest you get better people who KNOW what they're doing. Instead of having people I can't understand tell me they will fix my problem. read more

I wish I could have given Geek Squad 0 stars. Not only could they not restore my data, but they broke my computer in the process. I got my computer back, it turned on, but the fan was really really loud (I had had the computer for five years and had never heard it before). The next day, the computer won't turn on. At all. But because 30 days had transpired since they closed the account (during which my computer languished at my local Best Buy without notification) they are off the hook for any and all repairs. I called to try to get my computer repaired. I made the mistake of calling this company. It was like calling the CIA. Odd questions pertaining to my identity and the woman informed me "I must get this confirmation before we can go further". REALLY???? Keep in mind that I am the potential client with cash to pay out for the service I was attempting to purchase. These people were acting too weird on the phone. I hung up on her. Shame on the Geek Squad and A&E (Sears). I called for service over month ago and was told I needed parts for my washing machine. Parts was ordered, but when the repair person came (A & E, Best Buy 3 Rd party service) to add the parts I was told because it is a stackable washer and gas dryer, and because we did not have Bust Buy install them originally we had to have them uninstall and reinstall by Best Buy or hire a plumber to cut off the gas so they can work on the washer. I called the Greek sqard that day to find out how much it would cost to uninstall and reinstall and I was told 99 dollars. While the order was being prepared I was disconnected by the rep Geraldine. After being on the phone with her for over 30 mins, and no call back I find this so unprofessional. So I called again, this time katharine answered gave her the story, she put me on hold for 20 mins, then was disconnected. Very frustrating. Called back for third time, this time young lady named Crin answered told her my story and asked her if she can take my number in case we get disconnected. Finally got an appointment for Wednesday 2/18. I did confirm with Crin about the uninstall and reinstall and she said yes. The morning of the appointment I was given a call by Amari the A&E third party people. He said they, A&E company don't do uninstall and reinstall. Amari said call back the Geek Squad about my problem. Too frustrated by this disrespectful treatment I waited till Thursday to call the Greek sqard back. This time Ange answered, and I told her I wanted to speak with a supervisor. She said they was too busy and was put on hold. I waited on hold for over 30 mins. So for over 1 month no washer, shame on the Geek Squad and A&E (Sears). read more

I would recommend going literally anywhere else for repairs. I gave them my laptop on 11/4, the estimated completion date was 11/20. It is now 11/27 and I still don't have my laptop back. Bought a dryer from best buy online and I will never make that mistake again. I schedule delivery for Tuesday and they cancelled by standing me up. Then I called to reschedule and the earliest appointment was Friday, so I took it. Guess what happened on Friday? They stood me up. I just want a dryer and I don't own a truck for delivery. This process is ongoing but I will never buy another product from best buy again. They can't even show up on the same day of delivery never mind the 4 hour window. read more

I booked their next available appointment, which was a week out. I called the day of my appointment to see if I could find out what time they would show up within my four hour time slot. I find out instead that the appointment was changed from a status of booked to "still need to reserve." In other words, I waited a week to find out I had to wait another week for their next available appointment. Don't waste your time. read more

I only gave this 1 star to make sure it works. It should be zero. I bought a TV and installation by Geek Squad through Best Buy on 11/23. TV shipment went fine. GeekSquad was supposed to call re install but never did. After an HOUR on the phone through the number BestBuy gave and 5 people, the call just disconnected. I went directly to another number on the GeekSquad site. We confirmed date of 12/6 install. They never confirmed, never showed up, and insisted we weren't on the schedule. I tried again on 12/14...told the guy all I'd been through. He stayed on the phone with me while I was on hold. He would not give me his name or phone number. After 5 minutes on hold, call disconnected. I finally called AmEx to reverse the order. I'm calling a different installer. I really think the service is a scam. They simply don't do the work. read more

Beyond awful. They erased software, installed their own, locked up ally office software, has me rebuy the software and did not stand by their promise to make good on their errors. Horrible experience, and it still isn't over yet for me. I called to ask about getting my tv wall mounted and was impressed that wiring and mount were included, so I placed my order. The tech called the evening before, but said the wiring was not included and I would nee to get it straightened out before the dispatch. After many phone calls and being trasnferred all around I found that I was quoted erroneously, but the added it to my order for no cost. Great. Except now they wanted to reschedule my dispatch. After more calling and transferring I was finally able to keep my appointment. The techs arrived, looked at my cables, and then told me that mine weren't rated for in-wall installation. I said nobody mentioned any specific requirements, and he said that I should have gone to the store not ordered online. If online can't do the sale properly, why do they do it? Anyway, I got the right cables and rescheduled. They couldn't do it the same week, but I got the following week. I took off another half day to be there. The tech showed up and told me he was a solo tech and my job required 2 so I'd have to reschedule. I called in and spoke to reps, supervisors, corporate reps, etc. I was assured that things would get worked out. I was even given direct contact information for a corporate rep. I left several messages for that rep and have yet to receive a call back, after he said that I'd receive up to a full credit for my inconvenience, in addition to the completed work. In fact, the only call I've received back was from dispatch, who wants to schedule me for the job to be completed 3 Saturdays out. Ridiculous! read more
