Finally tried Geeko fried chicken today and it hit the spot! I tried the Korean sweet and spicy and the flavors were terrific and that crunch! The wings themselves were not skimpy either! Service was friendly as usual and pretty quick too. They were definitely made to order since they were piping hot! I sat inside for the first time and it was pretty basic. Lots of tables and some booths but most importantly everything was clean! Gotta try their fries and onion rings next time!
Geeko Chicken opened in early 2024, inside the Champ's Deli in Signal Hill. Was very satisfied with the food (taste and value), service for the Korean food ordered, and would gladly go there again for lunch if in the area. Once you pass the Costco in Signal Hill going East on Willow Street, the street turns pretty industrial, with mostly warehouses until merging into the 405. So was a bit confused when GeeKo (Gee's Korean) Chicken popped up in a search for Korean Fried Chicken, but Maps took us correctly there. There is plenty of surface parking, dedicated to the business. It's pretty non-descript from the outside, housed in an industrial but there is a large, high sign for both businesses. They share the same order space, with the same friendly employees manning both. It was fairly busy, with everyone ordering from the Korean side of the menu. It's a fast food set-up, ordering and paying first, with the food being delivered to your table. My wife and her mom found a booth, while I stood in line. Everything is made fresh to order, so it does take a bit of time, especially when busy. Korean Fried Chicken Wings (8 pcs) Honey Soy Garlic $13.95 - only wings are offered, and it's one flavor for every 8 pcs. If you define KFC as the various flavors, this is definitely it with the two most common (Korean Sweet and Spicy and Honey Soy Garlic) being offered. But not, if hankering for the shattered crisp coating coming from freshly made corn/potato starch batter (would be very difficult to do this for the very value price). Important to eat these immediately after being tossed. It came with carrot and celery sticks, and homemade pickled radish (a must with KFC). French Fries ($3.75) - eating these crinkle fries reminds me to ask: 'why can't other restaurants do a better job of serving deep fried potatoes like this?'. These were excellent, not overly battered. Like pizza and beer, french fries and chicken wings are a great combo for me. Kimchi Fried Rice ($14.95) - can't resist when I see this on the menu, and frankly wasn't expecting much, considering where I was. But when it came, knew immediately it was going to be great: a large heaping portion with a deep rouge color and plenty of spam pieces (pork just goes so well with kimchi). It had a beautiful cooked sunny side egg on top. Knew I wouldn't be able to finish it, but still ended up eating more than half, each bite as good as the previous. I loved this dish. There is a soda machine behind the counter, with one free refill (also a cooler with various can/bottles as well): a small was $2.50. I was pleasantly surprised that cups of ice water was offered for our party, without being asked. Tried to self bus, but it's not really set-up for it, so guessing they want you to leave your tray and utensils at the table. Ended up just handing it over to the counter as we left. Just needed a lid for the fried rice to bring it back home, which was just as good the next day.
Recently, I was craving something outside of my usual rotation. I've had KBBQ fatigue for the last two years, as I used to religiously go to KBBQ at every opportunity with friends and family. However, lately, I've been finding myself craving anything with brisket or bulgogi. While searching on Yelp, I fortunately stumbled upon Geeko Chicken. After reviewing their menu, I was intrigued enough to stop by and give them a shot. Upon arriving, the restaurant was quite empty. The space itself had a cozy, no-frills vibe. The owners were super nice and added a sense of warm hospitality to the experience. I placed an order for two bulgogi burritos and asked if they had any sauce to pair with my meal. The lovely Korean owners informed me that they had an orange sauce they call their "everything sauce," which they said was delicious enough to go with just about any dish. I was immediately sold by their enthusiasm, so I ordered a few extra sides to accompany my bulgogi burrito. My burrito was generally pretty good in terms of taste. It reminded me more of a wrap than a burrito, given how light it was. The burrito included white rice, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and bulgogi. Even though it tasted great, I couldn't help but notice a few pieces of uncooked rice inside. The bulgogi was also a bit on the fatty side, and though it pains me to say this after hearing the owners rave about their "everything sauce"- it just wasn't for me. It reminded me of Thai peanut sauce with vinegar. Regardless of my minor critiques, I can definitely see myself coming back to explore more of their menu. It's a charming establishment with great service that I'd recommend to anyone in the area, at least for a one-and-done visit. Support your local businesses! :) 3.8/5
Super meaty wings, deliciously crispy, well balanced spicy and sweet flavor. I couldn't get through all 8 wings they were too meaty for me lol. That's great problem to have when ordering wings. They would make a great wing party platter they stayed incredibly hot the whole time I was eating them. The people are very friendly and have a great Korean as well as traditional deli sandwich menus. Definitely need to come back and try more stuff but it will be hard to not order the wings. The counter staff is very friendly and helpful served up my food with a smile! I liked the almost divey diner ambiance it felt like they've had the same decor since the 1980s or possibly 70s but no holes in the furniture all clean and tidy so a tidy clean retro vintage deli decor. Love it and will be coming here for take out now that I've discovered it. Easy to miss driving by, plenty of parking easy in and out. Extensive menu and daily specials to try. If I worked near here I'd be coming for lunch every day!
Tucked away off the main street, this cozy, family-run spot is the kind of place you might easily drive past--but you shouldn't. My partner ordered the meatball sub and absolutely loved it. The bread was warm , and the meatballs were tender and flavorful, drenched in just the right amount of sauce. It seemed to be on the smaller side but the bold flavors made it so fulfilling. I went for the wonton soup since I wasn't too hungry. Although the position seemed small, the wontons were plump and filling, like a comforting bowl made from scratch in someone's kitchen. The broth was light without being heavy, and the wontons were similar to Korean dumplings. They weren't filled with any meat, just veggies and glass noodles. We decided to split the bulgogi fries! The bulgogi was perfectly cooked: tender, savory, and slightly sweet, while the condiments layered on top added brightness and balanced all the delicious umami flavors. On top of the tasty food, the staff were genuinely friendly and made us feel right at home. It's one of those places where you can tell they care both about their food and their customers. Highly recommend this little gem if you're looking for hearty, flavorful eats and warm hospitality!
I have been here a few times to have Korean Fried Chicken wings and decided to go with some wings and bulgogi kimbap. The wings were solid, as usual. The kimbap was huge but was just okay. The size of the kimbap pieces might have overwhelmed things a bit. I might stick with the wings.
This place is a hidden secret of some good, quick Korean food! Their wings are yummy! It's also a sandwich shop! They have good lunch specials! Don't let the outside fool you!
This is a great hole-in-the-wall spot to adventure into Korean food. It is connected to the Deli if you get nervous and change your mind, but I promise you won't regret trying Geeko Chicken. I got the 8pc Honey Soy Garlic wings, spicy bulgogi kimbap, and rose topokki. As someone who eats a lot of korean food and has lived in OC's and LA's Koreatown, this is a very great spot for Long Beach! The wings were perfectly crispy and paired very well dipped in the rose topokki sauce. I also dipped the kimbap into the topokki sauce and that was heavenly. The kimbap is very large and a great thing to pick up for a quick lunch. Check them out!
This family-owned deli never disappoints -- and they have Korean Fried Chicken Wings! The owners are so friendly, and the place has a welcoming, neighborhood vibe. There's plenty of seating with booths and tables, plus their own parking lot. It's perfect for groups because everyone can find something they like -- burgers, sandwiches, burritos, salads, or Korean dishes. They even serve breakfast before 11 a.m. The wings were crispy, juicy, and perfectly sauced. The bulgogi kimbap was delicious and super filling, and the japchae had that perfect balance of savory and sweet, with the nutty flavor from toasted sesame oil soaked right into the glass noodles. You can taste the freshness in the veggies and the marinated beef. If you love bulgogi, they've got that too. I've probably been here too many times... but I still can't stop thinking about trying the other wing flavors!
Located in the most unassuming deli spot in Signal Hill is where you'll find some of the best Korean chicken wings in the area and they definitely rival many of the big chains in Cerritos/Artesia. I had the original and honey soy glaze wings and kimchi fried rice and bulgogi kimbap. The wings and the rice were outstanding because the wings were pretty sizable and had a great, even textured batter that wasn't too thick, but maintained it's crunchiness for a while. The meat was very juicy and tender and cook well throughout. It was served with pickled diakon but also carrots and celery with ranch dressing. The rice had a strong mild kick and was very buttery but not too oily from the spam, and the egg was cooked just right to allow the yolk to fuse with the rice. The kimbap was good but didn't stand out for me although the prices were very reasonable. It's a very clean and spacious area to dine in but takeout was a breeze and the food was packed perfectly so that it maintained its freshness for thr drive home. The folks behind the counter couldn't be nicer!
My boyfriend and I were craving Kimbap, and I'm glad we tried this place!! We got the 8 Pieces Korean Fried Chicken Wings in Korean Sweet & Spicy, 1 Roll of the Regular Bulgogi Kimbap, and the Kimchi Fried Rice w/ Spam & Egg. The Korean Fried Chicken Wings were really good! They were the perfect amount of sweet and spicy. The pickled radishes were great, but I've never had Korean Fried Chicken Wings with carrots and celery so I was surprised when I saw those. The Regular Bulgogi Kimbap was great! I loved the sauce it came with. The Kimchi Fried Rice w/ Spam & Egg was so good! It had lots of rice, kimchi, cubes of spam, and one over easy egg. The employees were so kind! They were patient while we were deciding what to order! They gave us paper plates and water cups. They also checked up on us a couple of times, making sure we were doing well and that the food was great. When we were leaving, they asked us if the food was good and thanked us for putting our trays and trash away. The restaurant is a Korean Fried Chicken spot inside Champ's Deli Restaurant. We were a bit confused when we looked at the big menu board, and it was the deli menu. The Geeko Chicken menu board was on the right of the counter, along with a menu stand. The restaurant / deli was empty. My boyfriend and I were the only people sitting and eating, and there were a few people getting their order to-go. There was plenty of seating, and it was very clean. I would come here again, and I would recommend this place to people! The food we had was super good, and I want to try other Korean Fried Chicken Wing flavors and their Topokki!!
Food amazing im full nice size chicken wings for the price. Meaty juicy and crispy even with the buffalo sauce and the sweet chilli sauce. Service was good ambiance nothing special this place is about the food .. now under its two restaurants n one building. The is the Korean chicken part , not a fan of the deli restaurant. But for the chicken ill be back .

So I was just driving by and seen this spot on the corner of my eye ,stopped by and so glad I did everything was bomb specially the fried chicken being super crispy and juicy with great flavor . Service was nice just one person taking orders . Inside was very small but if you look past that you'll be happy as the food smackkkkked . Not sure what this drink was but I'm also glad I got it read more

Came here on a Saturday around 3pm no line. Service was quick and friendly! Plenty of parking in front lot and plenty of seating inside. Portions were extensive but we came for the Korean fried chicken. We ordered the pepper lemon and sweet and spicy fried chicken they were both super good and that crunch was good. The sizes were big too. The kimbap was good size too. Overall, will come again to try more options! read more

I have been ordering far more than I would like to admitt from here. I am just so happy I found a place where I can get my Korean fix here in Long Beach. Before there really was only two spots and one closed down leaving the one. This place has parking and a deli. I need to restrain myself from ordering most things on the menu. read more
This place is such a hidden gem. It's located in a small business warehouse plaza/ area. It is combined with a deli place so they offer not only Korean items (eg, fried chicken, teriyaki bowls, gimbap etc), but also American breakfast items, burgers, etc. It was not fancy but very cozy and comfortable. Superb service like your friendly neighborhood shop. We came by on a random weekday morning because I was craving for fried chicken and there are not many places in signal hills that offered authentic Korean fried chicken. The Korean fried chicken did not disappoint. It came with radish and carrots. The chicken (original) was delicately crispy and juicy. We also got the beef teriyaki bowl (pictured here) and bulgogi burrito. The meat were similar and both were really tasty. Flavorful and just right. The burrito came with lettuce that off set the meat. Overall it was such a great meal. Would recommend! read more
Daughter #2 and I were craving fried chicken, and I've wanted to check this place out since moving out of Carson. I didn't have high expectations coming here, but the fried chicken blew me away. Geeko is nestled in an industrial area where it shares a deli inside. There was plenty of parking around 5:30pm on a Saturday, and the place was empty when we arrived. Two nice Korean Aunties took my order of 16 pcs of Honey Soy and Original. The wings came out about 10 minutes later, along with some ranch, carrots, and celery as our sides. The Original fried chicken flavor was wow. I've had Korean wings, but the Original was fried perfectly, and the meat was perfect. There's something about how it was friend orbreaded, but it was the perfect consistency of not being super crunchy but just the perfect crunch. Also, Honey Soy was saucy, but not super saucy, as it was perfectly coated on the wings, making it not super sweet like other Korean fried chicken. I will order Korean fried chicken wings from Geeko again the next time we crave them. This place needs more exposure! read more

The food is delicious! Korean spicy wings 10/10 Honey garlic wings 9/10 Bulgogi fries 9/10 The people who work here are so friendly and helpful. We brought our small dog with us and she put out chairs and a table out front for us so we didn't have to take it to go. She even gave us a bowl with water for the dog. Can't wait to go back and try other menu items! Prices were right and there was plenty of food. We took some home with us. Parking is plentiful even at lunch hour. Saw a lot of people getting to-go orders. read more
Before you get totally confused, this is Champ's Deli new line up or what the owner called the "Ghost Kitchen". Don't be discouraged by the industrial / warehouse setting. This is sorta hole in the wall place and it has plenty of parking. The closest Korean Fried Chicken place is either Lakewood or Downtown Long Beach. This place is literally 3 mins down the street from heart of Signal Hills. Food: - Korean Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken: it's more of a mild spiciness and the inside is juicy ! I'd give it a 4/5 - Crispy Original Fried Chicken: HOLY MOLY !! The skin is hella CRISPY and it's not too sharp like it would cut your mouth. It is as if they were air fried. I don't know how they make them but these are some DELICIOUS wings. I wish I had ordered more Crispy ones. I'm back for more for sure ! - Bulgogi Kimbap: I love it. It's not too dry and I can eat them all day - Teriyaki Chicken Kimbap: I am not too crazy about it but the owner gave us this special sauce which really enhances the flavor Service: The owner is so friendly to us. It feels like those small mom and pop shops. She made sure we have no issues with the food. Ambiance: The outside looks like it's part of a warehouse and the restaurant will display both "Geeko Chicken" and "Champ's Deli" which has been there for 30 years. Absolutely a go-to! This is definitely a Gem. Will definitely be back! The chicken is so incredibly crunchy and tender. First time place where I could taste the lemon pepper and it was so delicious. Tteok-bokki is the perfect flavor and spicy level. I love my spice so if you have a low tolerance i would say get some drinks. Definitely worth the burn. Gimbap definitely hit the spot! There are seats inside and a nice wall clock. They also have dessert so will come back for that. Service was spectacular! read more

Staff were really nice and helpful! Hands down the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had and decently priced too!! Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area! read more
