I love chicken wings. I very much enjoy kimbap. I have some pretty amazing options for both within a 30 minute drive from home. That said, I have come back many times for both from Geeko. There is plenty of parking. There is a small dine in area with maybe 6-8 tables, but I think many people order to go. The staff are soooooooo nice. They take the time to ask her preferences and encourage me to be adventurous like giving me a side of the spicy sauce that I was initially hesitant to try. (the spicy sauce is definitely on the more spicy side, but just shy of covering up all other flavor) Ordering ahead on the phone is pretty easy since they don't have a super extensive menu. If you are in a hurry and you are ordering wings, all ahead. The wings are made to order and they come out so crispy and so juicy (but hot!). Some wings you get for the combo of the sauce and the chicken, these ones I find myself ordering the crispy original because I get to savor the crunchy with the beautiful umami of the chicken and it is not at all bland. If you order when you arrive, the kimbap is ready in about 5 minutes, but the chicken take maybe another 5-10 mins. Last time I went I also got kimchi fried rice (literally didn't know it was on the menu because I have tunnel vision on the wings). It's a smaller portion than some, but the flavor was so big (rich flavor and spicier than most I've tried). It was the perfect dish for being sated but not overstuffed. I'm definitely working that into the rotation of my order (wings plus one other thing ) in the future! read more

My go-to spot for fresh Kimbap and KFC! it's tough to find good KFC in the Long Beach area that isn't from a large chain restaurant. In the same restaurant, theres the champ deli. With some delicious looking sandwiches, wraps, teriyaki bowls, soups and salads. I also love the selection of sodas they have and snacks. Geeko Chicken opened in early 2024, inside the Champ's Deli in Signal Hill. Was very satisfied with the food (taste and value), service for the Korean food ordered, and would gladly go there again for lunch if in the area. Once you pass the Costco in Signal Hill going East on Willow Street, the street turns pretty industrial, with mostly warehouses until merging into the 405. So was a bit confused when GeeKo (Gee's Korean) Chicken popped up in a search for Korean Fried Chicken, but Maps took us correctly there. There is plenty of surface parking, dedicated to the business. It's pretty non-descript from the outside, housed in an industrial but there is a large, high sign for both businesses. They share the same order space, with the same friendly employees manning both. It was fairly busy, with everyone ordering from the Korean side of the menu. It's a fast food set-up, ordering and paying first, with the food being delivered to your table. My wife and her mom found a booth, while I stood in line. Everything is made fresh to order, so it does take a bit of time, especially when busy. Korean Fried Chicken Wings (8 pcs) Honey Soy Garlic $13.95 - only wings are offered, and it's one flavor for every 8 pcs. If you define KFC as the various flavors, this is definitely it with the two most common (Korean Sweet and Spicy and Honey Soy Garlic) being offered. But not, if hankering for the shattered crisp coating coming from freshly made corn/potato starch batter (would be very difficult to do this for the very value price). Important to eat these immediately after being tossed. It came with carrot and celery sticks, and homemade pickled radish (a must with KFC). French Fries ($3.75) - eating these crinkle fries reminds me to ask: 'why can't other restaurants do a better job of serving deep fried potatoes like this?'. These were excellent, not overly battered. Like pizza and beer, french fries and chicken wings are a great combo for me. Kimchi Fried Rice ($14.95) - can't resist when I see this on the menu, and frankly wasn't expecting much, considering where I was. But when it came, knew immediately it was going to be great: a large heaping portion with a deep rouge color and plenty of spam pieces (pork just goes so well with kimchi). It had a beautiful cooked sunny side egg on top. Knew I wouldn't be able to finish it, but still ended up eating more than half, each bite as good as the previous. I loved this dish. There is a soda machine behind the counter, with one free refill (also a cooler with various can/bottles as well): a small was $2.50. I was pleasantly surprised that cups of ice water was offered for our party, without being asked. Tried to self bus, but it's not really set-up for it, so guessing they want you to leave your tray and utensils at the table. Ended up just handing it over to the counter as we left. Just needed a lid for the fried rice to bring it back home, which was just as good the next day. read more

Recently, I was craving something outside of my usual rotation. I've had KBBQ fatigue for the last two years, as I used to religiously go to KBBQ at every opportunity with friends and family. However, lately, I've been finding myself craving anything with brisket or bulgogi. While searching on Yelp, I fortunately stumbled upon Geeko Chicken. After reviewing their menu, I was intrigued enough to stop by and give them a shot. Upon arriving, the restaurant was quite empty. The space itself had a cozy, no-frills vibe. The owners were super nice and added a sense of warm hospitality to the experience. I placed an order for two bulgogi burritos and asked if they had any sauce to pair with my meal. The lovely Korean owners informed me that they had an orange sauce they call their "everything sauce," which they said was delicious enough to go with just about any dish. I was immediately sold by their enthusiasm, so I ordered a few extra sides to accompany my bulgogi burrito. My burrito was generally pretty good in terms of taste. It reminded me more of a wrap than a burrito, given how light it was. The burrito included white rice, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and bulgogi. Even though it tasted great, I couldn't help but notice a few pieces of uncooked rice inside. The bulgogi was also a bit on the fatty side, and though it pains me to say this after hearing the owners rave about their "everything sauce"- it just wasn't for me. It reminded me of Thai peanut sauce with vinegar. Regardless of my minor critiques, I can definitely see myself coming back to explore more of their menu. They would make a great wing party platter they stayed incredibly hot the whole time I was eating them. The people are very friendly and have a great Korean as well as traditional deli sandwich menus. Definitely need to come back and try more stuff but it will be hard to not order the wings. The counter staff is very friendly and helpful served up my food with a smile! I liked the almost divey diner ambiance it felt like they've had the same decor since the 1980s or possibly 70s but no holes in the furniture all clean and tidy so a tidy clean retro vintage deli decor. I was looking fo a nearby Korean fried chicken spot and this one popped up on the map. Really close to Costco. I called and then came by to pickup my order. The parking lot shares with a dance studio. Not busy when I came in the evening. I saw the signage for the deli but didn't see it for the actual restaurant. It was dark and kinda hard to see. When I walked in, a staff member greeted me and I paid at the register. Seems pretty hole in the wall. A good handful of people dining in. I got the Sweet and spicy 8 piece wings with fries. It was delicious! The wings are large and they gave a lot of fries. Enough to share with someone! It also came with radish and celery and carrots with ranch. Tucked away off the main street, this cozy, family-run spot is the kind of place you might easily drive past--but you shouldn't. My partner ordered the meatball sub and absolutely loved it. The bread was warm , and the meatballs were tender and flavorful, drenched in just the right amount of sauce. It seemed to be on the smaller side but the bold flavors made it so fulfilling. I went for the wonton soup since I wasn't too hungry. Although the position seemed small, the wontons were plump and filling, like a comforting bowl made from scratch in someone's kitchen. The broth was light without being heavy, and the wontons were similar to Korean dumplings. They weren't filled with any meat, just veggies and glass noodles. We decided to split the bulgogi fries! The bulgogi was perfectly cooked: tender, savory, and slightly sweet, while the condiments layered on top added brightness and balanced all the delicious umami flavors. On top of the tasty food, the staff were genuinely friendly and made us feel right at home. It's one of those places where you can tell they care both about their food and their customers. Located in the most unassuming deli spot in Signal Hill is where you'll find some of the best Korean chicken wings in the area and they definitely rival many of the big chains in Cerritos/Artesia. I had the original and honey soy glaze wings and kimchi fried rice and bulgogi kimbap. The wings and the rice were outstanding because the wings were pretty sizable and had a great, even textured batter that wasn't too thick, but maintained it's crunchiness for a while. The meat was very juicy and tender and cook well throughout. It was served with pickled diakon but also carrots and celery with ranch dressing. The rice had a strong mild kick and was very buttery but not too oily from the spam, and the egg was cooked just right to allow the yolk to fuse with the rice. The kimbap was good but didn't stand out for me although the prices were very reasonable. It's a very clean and spacious area to dine in but takeout was a breeze and the food was packed perfectly so that it maintained its freshness for thr drive home. This place is kind of a hidden gem, I tried this spot after shopping at Costco. A young man behind the counter was so accommodating while I asked about the menu. This is so far the best Korean wings I have ever had no exaggeration . My order came out fast, freshly made, crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. Perfectly seasoned, perfect amount of batter, not too oily like the other chain k.f.c. 's even the original flavor was excellent!!!!! I always try the plain ones first when checking out Korean fried chicken places and theirs was good! The price is reasonable for the quality of food. It's a one stop shop since it is within the deli. I've tried wings from many different spots, but nothing compares to the wings here at Geeko--they're simply the best! Their Kimchi Fried Rice, Gimbap, and Bulgogi burrito are also must-tries. The only downside has nothing to do with the restaurant itself, but with the 27 CA-19 Lakewood Blvd exit--it's full of potholes and really needs fixing! Daughter #2 and I were craving fried chicken, and I've wanted to check this place out since moving out of Carson. I didn't have high expectations coming here, but the fried chicken blew me away. Geeko is nestled in an industrial area where it shares a deli inside. There was plenty of parking around 5:30pm on a Saturday, and the place was empty when we arrived. Two nice Korean Aunties took my order of 16 pcs of Honey Soy and Original. The wings came out about 10 minutes later, along with some ranch, carrots, and celery as our sides. The Original fried chicken flavor was wow. I've had Korean wings, but the Original was fried perfectly, and the meat was perfect. There's something about how it was friend orbreaded, but it was the perfect consistency of not being super crunchy but just the perfect crunch. Also, Honey Soy was saucy, but not super saucy, as it was perfectly coated on the wings, making it not super sweet like other Korean fried chicken. I will order Korean fried chicken wings from Geeko again the next time we crave them. This place needs more exposure! read more

This place is literally 3 mins down the street from heart of Signal Hills. Food: - Korean Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken: it's more of a mild spiciness and the inside is juicy ! I'd give it a 4/5 - Crispy Original Fried Chicken: HOLY MOLY !! The skin is hella CRISPY and it's not too sharp like it would cut your mouth. It is as if they were air fried. I don't know how they make them but these are some DELICIOUS wings. I wish I had ordered more Crispy ones. I'm back for more for sure ! - Bulgogi Kimbap: I love it. It's not too dry and I can eat them all day - Teriyaki Chicken Kimbap: I am not too crazy about it but the owner gave us this special sauce which really enhances the flavor Service: The owner is so friendly to us.
