Jincook was seriously SO good and comforting!! Perfect place to come with family and friends because the portions are BIG and everything is super shareable. We ordered: Braised beef short ribs with cheese on top, Cheese curry katsu, Garlic soy chicken, Brisket tteokbokki The braised beef short ribs were super tender and flavorful, and adding melted cheese on top made it even better ~~ The garlic soy chicken was crispy outside, juicy inside, and had the perfect sweet garlic flavor. The brisket tteokbokki was spicy, chewy, and so addictive!! One thing that really stood out was the special smoky flavor. They use black charcoal while cooking, which gives the food such a rich aroma and unique taste you normally don't get at other Korean restaurants. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and family-friendly. Service was also very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Plus there's FREE parking which is always a huge plus in OC! Definitely come hungry because you'll want to order everything!! We will definitely be back again!

Jin Cook has been on my list for years and it still exceeded expectations. Garlic suyuk: 10/10. Best suyuk I've ever had. I normally have bossam instead of suyuk but I prefer suyuk because it's nice and warm. The sauces with it were amazing and I love the vegetables this came with. Brisket hot stone: 9/10. Also amazing. They mix it for you and it's delicious. Maybe just a little too much sesame oil, though. The service was above and behind. Everyone was soooo nice and lovely. I really enjoyed my time there. Ambiance is very casual and homey. The food took a bit of time to get to the table but it's because they make everything from scratch individually. The wait was insane. We were lucky that we got there a few minutes before opening. Parking is abundant and free since it's in a shopping center with an Albertsons. The best part is that they gave a cute little homemade rice cake for Mothers Day. They only made it just that morning and it made me very happy to see them give it to my mom. I can't wait to come here again.

Parking: Easy, open and free I came here when I was on the verge of a sore throat. This casual but homey place didn't change my life but it definitely made me feel better. The tofu soup wasn't quite the typical style like BCD or Young Dong but good! It was different. The broth just had a different base. I do recommend it if you're craving it. I ordered the kalguksu. This was good but it had a very shrimpy taste which was hearty but not what I expected. I think I was looking for less of a seafood experience. Finally, I ordered the katsu. I did a fish and pork katsu. I WAS SURPRISED about how much I liked the fish katsu. This is something I would return for. It was crispy but not oily. It was filling and the fish came with a tartar sauce. The banchan was great. I love a place that is kind with the refills. Service was busy and they did their best. Chef's kiss. All in all, I would come back.

Stopped by Jin Cook at 11:48 and didn't actually sit until 12:25 so yeah... if you're going on a Saturday give yourself plenny time. They're known for the garlic suyuk (pork belly) but you kinda need a full squad for that, so we kept it lighter and got the spicy pork hot stone and soondofu. I REALLY wanted to try the ttaro gukbap though-- one of those homey Korean comfort meals you weirdly don't see on restaurant menus that often. Honestly fine because now I already know what I'm getting next time. The spicy pork was super good. No weird porky gaminess at all. They spark the charcoal right there so everything gets that smoky flavor, plus it looks hella cool when they bring it out. The soondofu is thicccccc too--tasted like there was a little doenjang in there. Super savory. Banchan was solid across the board. Garlicky, balanced, not sad filler banchan. Prices are pretty reasonable. Only thing that gives me pause is the wait because this place gets slammed, bc it isn't big and the turnover isn't fast--but if you're craving it, you will be satisfied.

Chogye Cold Noodles & Banchan - so good!

Came here via car for dinner with a party of 3 for dinner on a Sunday in early May 2026. Parking lot was big and free. There was a line when we arrived and we were seated after waiting about 40 minutes. After being seated and ordering, the food took about 20 minutes to arrive but it was so worth it. We ordered the Garlic SuYuk, the Chogye Cold Noodles, and the Garlic Soy Chicken. It all came out to $101.49. The Garlic SuYuk and the Chogye Cold Noodles were our favorite. For the Cold Noodles, they cut the noodles at the table for you. For the Garlic SuYuk, they brought it out sizzling. We probably wouldn't order the Garlic Soy Chicken again just because it wasn't what we expected. We thought it was going to be deep fried but it wasn't - our mistake. The meal definitely hit the spot though. The service was great. The banchan was good. They refill them for free along with the sauces for Garlic SuYuk. The Garlic SuYuk and Garlic Soy Chicken both came with rice. We were so chill by the end. Definitely would come back here.

One of the best Korean restaurants in OC. Came here for lunch at 1130 and the restaurant was packed by 12. Big portion of dishes and we all loved the garlic suyuk. The spicy braised beef short rib is a must order dish and recommended for cheese. Great restaurant for family and friends.

We had a party of 9 and they were able to accommodate us quickly during lunch time. We did get there right when it opened and luckily we did because it got packed fast! We ordered the beef short rib soup, seafood pancake, braised short rib, garlic suyuk, sweet potato cheese curry katsu and hotteok for dessert. The portions were big enough to share between our big party and we were all verrrrry full after! Service was very fast. The place was clean and I liked how the place was designed to look like a real Korean pub. I'd like to try going here at night since I saw they close late on the weekends.

Great Korean food in Buena Park! Jin Cook is a familiar franchise with multiple locations in the area. They serve a variety of Korean cuisine. The layout and decorations of the restaurant convey a "home-like" feel to them, making it great for get togethers with friends and family alike. Sometimes, there is a small wait and they are still on a paper waitlist basis. While waiting, make sure to enjoy their free tea offered right outside of their establishment! After being seated, we were served in an adequate amount of time. For this instance, I tried the Jalapeno Cheese Curry. The curry was especially delightful! Hot off the skillet, the curry was full of flavor and paired well with the katsu. The delivery of the dish was great as you can have it fresh off of the skillet, making each bite nice and hot. Highly recommend for those in the area looking to get some great Korean food with friends / family!

Delicious! The servers are Korean sweet old ladies who make you feel so welcomed ! Delicious food and worth the wait and hype. My fav thing here is their seafood pancake and the marinated dumplings

Really great kalbi jjim!! Went right when it opened for lunch at 11:30 on a Sunday and people were already queuing up...very popular spot. They don't take reservations so go early or be prepared to wait. The food took a long time to make too. Service was kind of weird... the guy didn't bring us basic stuff we asked for and I had to ask again. Seafood pancake was good but I would skip the garlic pork... it was kind of bland even with the garlic dip.

I liked: Braised Beef Short Rib / Kalbijim Came here for the Braised Beef Short Rib (Kalbijim) and honestly it's a bit of everything in one dish. The meat quality is solid, super tender, and I liked that it came with cheese and rice cakes mixed in. It's definitely satisfying, but a bit one note flavor-wise. The side dishes were just ok. Nothing bad, but they all kinda leaned into the same spicy profile. I would've liked to see more variety like fish cake, bean sprouts, or seaweed to balance things out. It left me wanting something a little different on the table. Service was good though. They were really busy when I went, but still made the effort to check in on us, which I appreciated. Overall a solid spot if you're craving kalbijim, just wish the banchan had more variety. #goodeats

버섯 잡채 / Mushroom Japchae + Chogye Cold Noodle

Spent lunchtime here, cozy atmosphere that brought me so much joy and comfort throughout the meal. Everyone was kind, thoughtful and wonderful! Banchan was SO YUMMYYY, I truly could have just ate that and been so content haha. The Japchae was packed with flavor from noodles to mushroom and incredibly delicious. Cold noodle was a nice refreshing addition also with incredible flavor and great balance of savory and slight tang. Next time I can't wait to try the garlic suyuk & the various pancakes!

    Chicken vegetable bbim noodles

We went here for lunch and were impressed with the food quality and portion sizes. While we were the first in line for a table, there was still a short wait for us. The restaurant is small and busy with a few servers attending to all the tables. There was great Korean music playing in the background as well. We got the chicken vegetable bbim noodles ($18.95) and katsu combination with pork and chicken ($21.95). The banchan (radish, kimchi, and cucumbers) arrived at the same time as our main entrees. The banchan is flavorful and spicy; I especially enjoyed the cucumbers. The chicken vegetable bbim noodles came with a refreshingly cold soup broth. It was a lovely balance of spicy, sweet, and savory flavors due to the gochujang and seaweed garnish. The soup bowl was huge and came with an abundance of thin, long wheat noodles. One of the servers saw me eating the noodles and kindly showed me how to cut them with scissors. It's ideal to share the dishes since the portion sizes are so large. The pork and chicken katsu combination was delicious. With large pieces, I appreciated the shareable portion size. The seasoning of the chicken katsu breading was really tasty. I enjoyed the chicken noticeably more than the pork. Also, the sauce with its tangy and sweet flavors complemented the katsu very well. When it came to getting our bill, we had to follow up as one server forgot to bring it to us. Unfortunately, I also paid for the wrong bill on the smart terminal. I only realized this when I looked at the receipt that I had texted to myself after I had already left the restaurant. I decided to call and leave a message on social media. The server who answered my call said that I'd need to come back to the restaurant to get a partial refund. Thankfully, the manager called me the next day and explained the situation that me. After confirming the details, he processed a partial refund for the overage I paid. Despite the few shortfalls in service while at the restaurant, the manager definitely helped and resolved everything. I'm glad that my worries were ended without me having to drive back to the restaurant.

We came the last hour of closing and there was still a couple of tables eating inside still. We were greeted upon arrival and we didn't need them to tell us how to order as the only thing on the table was the ordering tablet (self-explanatory). We ended up ordering the premium gyu katsu set along with the curry pork cutlet set that comes with rice and sides along with some beer. The drinks and food came out fairly quick and were steaming hot. I like that the curry came on the side so the pork cutlet wouldn't get soggy and you could pour over as much as you want over the cutlets. The veggie sides were a nice touch and complemented the meal well. The gyu katsu didn't taste like Japan to us, but it was still good especially with the wasabi and sweet soy sauce that came with it. If I came back here, I would give the beef tongue a try along with the creamy udon because those also seemed like a favorite for customers. Service here was friendly and we were checked up on multiple times without having to flag someone down.
