These gelatoria basically bookend either end of the Pearl Street walking mall, so no matter which direction you choose to peruse all that the pedestrian Pearl Street has to offer...you are never far from a gelato fix. Just as the original Fior location, this second, albeit much more compact location offers all the yummy heavenly gelato that you expect. I have not yet tried a single flavor that disappointed. You can ask for a sample of any flavor...but please be mindful of the line if you decide to sample every flavor on the menu. Fior: perhaps you can offer two lines? I came with a friend around 3:20pm one day, so it wasn't too busy. We saw a sign for a waffle al mode for $5 during happy hour (3-6pm). The people behind the counter seemed hesitant to offer us samples or take our order.... My friend ordered first, a waffle al mode, she was charged the full price (which was over $8). And her waffle came out with a huge scoop of gelato. It looks wonderful! She loved it. Then they finally got around to taking my order, after the girl at the register was blankly staring at her phone while I stood right in front of her... The other girl making my friends order seemed to be pulling all of the weight. I ordered the same thing, took awhile since the first waffle was burnt. Thing is, I was charged the happy hour price ($5) after I told her it was happy hour. The girl who was on her cell phone didn't bother to fix the fact that she over charged my friend. Overall, the dessert was wonderful and I enjoyed it. I probably won't be back to this location for a couple months, I hope they work out the quality of service by then. read more

Great handling of food allergies! I emailed ahead of our visit with two allergy kids. They were extremely receptive and helpful. The kids - one with a dairy allergy, the other allergic to peanuts and tree nuts -were able to enjoy gelato and sorbet. The servers used clean scoops and even scooped from a brand new container to accommodate the peanut allergy kid in eliminating cross-contamination risk from other scoops. Top notch! We will be back. Visited on a Friday night. There was a long line and the service was slow. Place smelled pretty good, thanks to the freshly made waffle cones. Aside of gelato they also serve waffles. Having lived in Belgium I know my Belgian Waffles (Brussels, Liege..) The people in line happily adored the waffles in the case who should have been marked "Liege Waffles." The gelato was nice. We had all had a one scoop vanilla with a brandy salted caramel sauce (I don't recall the exact name of the topping). When I first saw the amount of topping (very little) I was a bit disappointed, but it turns out that it was just the right amount to make the flavors work with each other. Its not inexpensive, nothing is in Boulder, but decent as an occasional treat. read more
