I honestly been avoiding going here. Not because it is bad but just because I know the wait times will always be long. Well here we are. I went here with some friends for a birthday, we waited around 40 to an hour. What was nice is you can sit at the bar area while you wait other than standing outside so it didn't feel as long as I imagined. Because I was most likely tipsy. Once seated, my friends talked like they were some Korean BBQ veterans. They had a game plan that we all had to agree and stick to so we can get the maximum amount of meat we can for our money. They can take a long time to bring you your 3 types of meat here so please plan accordingly (like my friends did) All I did was cook and eat. It was like a Korean BBQ marathon. Overall the food was great. We were full to the brim with some of us with meat sweats at the end of the night. Mission accomplished.

Dined here for lunch today which is the best deal at $21. 95 pp M-Th. Combine that with the Costco gc and nothing beats the savings. Service by Eric was on point, attentive, and fast. He switched out our burner 3 times in 1 hour. Everything is delish and I'll definitely be back sooner than later. A new manager, Maurice came to introduce himself and was very welcoming which was much appreciated.

Arrived for an early dinner no wait time . Started at the full bar with a soju which is 50% off due to FIFA. Which is playing on the big screen . Choose the premium deal which is $50 per person . Totally worth it if you eat a lot . Downfall is everyone has to purchase it no matter if you can eat or not . Anyways we went with it . Pricey for a meal but for special occasions it's a great spot . Waiter was extremely friendly and fast. If it wasn't so expensive I would give it 5 stars .

Came through to Gen Korean BBQ in Fremont and honestly had a solid experience overall. The vibe is definitely lively and a little on the louder side, especially during peak dinner hours, but that's kind of expected with AYCE KBBQ spots. We had a short wait, but once seated, service moved pretty quickly. Our server was attentive and kept the meats coming without us having to constantly flag someone down, which I really appreciated. The meat quality was good for all-you-can-eat--favorites were the spicy pork, garlic chicken, and the Hawaiian steak. Everything came out fresh and well-marinated. Sides were consistent, nothing crazy but they did the job. Grill was changed out regularly, so no issues with burnt flavor carrying over. Only downside is it can feel a bit rushed when it gets busy, and parking around the area can be a little hectic. Also, if you're super hungry, pacing your orders is key since there's a time limit. Overall, a fun spot to go with friends or a group if you're trying to eat good and leave full. I'd definitely come back.

Great value for the price!! $25 for lunch, $32 for dinner, all you can eat. Our servers were also so attentive, and wait is not long despite a full house. It was also a treat to watch the GSW game on such a big screen. Will have to keep their bar in mind for game days!

Never done anything like this before, so I was excited. The place is really cool inside. Has a massive tv. There is a bar and bbq tables, also tables for the none bbq people. We had many of the choices of meats. The Hawaiian bacon was really good. Short ribs and spicy chicken we also really liked. The shredded brisket was not worth all the hype I heard about. Appetizers we had potstickers and they rocked, also the fried calamari. The calamari has really good flavor and the dipping sauce went great with it, only issue it came out room temp. Our waiter was great, gave us a lot of info for our first time. Drinks got refilled fast. Oh, bathrooms nice and clean. The floor was slippery all through out the place! So be careful, I slid trying to get out of the table. Parking lot is rough! Hard to find a spot. Yeah we will go back, at some point, it is different and that's cool.

We practically ordered everything we could consume in 2.5 hrs. Come hungry!

This place is a whirlwind of fun. Food was amazing. Service was good and the environment is very stimulating with their larger than life TV screen on the wall, music playing and birthday celebrations all around with loud pots and pans banging all around us but definitely a place to go to if you want to have a fun time. When you get home, you will have to wash everything you wore and take a shower because the smell of all the delicious food that you just ate will be on your clothes and in your hair. Definitely recommend the beef, chicken, and potstickers and get the green salad If your carb conscious. I put all the meats and sides and sauces on top. It was amazing! Come hungry !

Gen BBQ has been one of my favorite affordable all you can eat Korean BBQ spots for over ten years. I have been to every location in the Bay Area and the Fremont one is definitely one of the better experiences. I have been here a few times and the service has always been solid. It can be a little slow at times, but it is nothing compared to the Concord location. Service really depends on which server you get, but overall Fremont has been consistently good. I live in San Leandro so I usually choose between Fremont and Concord. Concord is easier to drive to because there is less traffic on the way, but once you are there the service moves so slowly that it cancels out the convenience. Fremont always has traffic, but once you sit down things move much faster and the overall experience is better. That is why Fremont is still the one I prefer. My go to dishes are the honey soy beef belly and the red wine pork belly. They are always flavorful and cook perfectly on the grill. Ohgane in Concord is still my favorite Korean AYCE, but I go there on weekends since they don't offer lunch pricing.

Foods on point services always on point vibe is upbeat but yep still personal price is good for the amount of food you get been here over 14 times always good never leave there unsatisfied!!

My friends and I came here for dinner and we tried the premium menu. The meats were good and well marinated. Some cuts were too fatty for me but my friends like fatty. My favorite was the galbi and I like to eat this with salad and pickled radish. Our server worked very hard, but you can tell they were understaffed. They did not however enforced a time limit on us as a result. Causal. Shopping center parking lot. Please come and create your own adventure.

It's been a while since I've been back to Gen, and today I took my in-laws from Taipei to have a good AYCE meal following their late arrival last night. Not only were we pleasantly surprised by the reasonable weekday price of $22/person for lunch, but the stars are for our server Twin, who was friendly, attentive, and very efficient with our multiple orders! Thanks for a good dining experience for our out-of-town guests!

Every brisket, rib, and pulled pork shoulder is smoked for hours over real oak and apple wood. And you can taste it in the tenderness of the meat. The ribs are juicy, perfectly seasoned, and pass the pull test every single time. This is my first time having burnt ends and they were bursting with savory flavor but doesn't taste burnt at all. Peanut butter pie - Too sweet to my liking. Banana pudding - It's good, but also too sweet for my liking.

He had no idea that I had this saved so we ended up giving it a try. Dude. So good. The house special fried rice is crack albeit a little pricey ($13.99 compared to regular white rice at $2.49/bowl) but they pack it with a lot of different ingredients. It's perfect with some veggies like the chive skewers. We also loved the classic beef and lamb (minimum order of two) and lamb belly (comes in two skewers). The cut on the lamb belly is smaller than the classic lamb. The Taiwanese sausage, bbq pork with garlic, and tofu wraps (comes in ten skewers) were also delicious. Only skippable thing was the a-choy. The flavors weren't too spicy and they have a lot of drink options. Service was relatively quick but sometimes confusing in the order that it comes out. We ordered everything at the same time but the chives came out first and the a-choy came out last? Plenty of parking in the plaza; friendly (enough) service. It's a plus if you know Mandarin lol. I came in mostly curious about the skewers, but the cold noodles ended up being the surprise highlight. Cold Noodles If you're on the fence about cold noodle soup -- get this. The broth is lightly tangy and deeply refreshing without being overly sweet or vinegary. The noodles had the perfect bite, and the sliced cucumber added crunch and brightness. And even though it's light and chilled, it's still filling. Grilled Skewers There were a lot of unique options and cuts -- lamb, chicken, beef, and more. Each skewer was well seasoned and cooked properly, with a good char but never dry. The flavors leaned slightly smoky with a hint of spice, and the meat was tender.
