This is probably one of my favorite Korean spots I've tried in Fremont. First of all, the pajeon was genuinely the one of the best vegetable pancakes I've ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, still soft on the inside, and just really well balanced. It had that pan seared flavor to it. I would come back for that alone. I judge a place heavily by their banchan, and this place's banchan was GOOD. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, and I dug right in. For my main, I got the manduguk (dumpling soup), which was exactly what I wanted - super comforting, homey, and still really flavorful. The egg mixed into the broth gave it a bit of an egg drop soup vibe, which I loved, and the seaweed and green onion were the perfect additions without overpowering anything. My husband and I came here around 12 pm on a Thursday and it was surprisingly busy. We appeared to come in right as other parties had ordered. There was a little bit of a wait for us to get our food but they seemed to move pretty quickly after that wave. We ordered the kalbi lunch box, spicy pork lunch box, and the seafood pancake. The seafood pancake was top tier and perfectly crispy on the outside while fluffy on the inside. We really enjoyed the lunch boxes as well. The meats had great flavor and felt like a good deal around $18 each. We were both unable to finish our boxes, probably since we kept eating the pancake, and were able to take home about half of each one. Highly recommend the galbi. The spicy pork was also really good and had a nice grilled flavor on the meat. If you get the lunch boxes, banchan is included in the box and is not refillable. We will definitely be back here. We went here for lunch on a rainy day. It felt so good to have tofu hot pot soup. They had a lunch menu with good selections and prices , but no tofu hot pot soup. So we ordered from the regular menu . Each order came with 6 side dishes and they were refillable . We enjoyed the side dishes as much as the main meal . We asked for two rounds of refills . If you order the lunch menu item then you don't get any refills on the side dishes . The tofu broths were very tasty with seafood inside ( squid, clams and shrimps ) . One of us ordered the beef tofu hot pot soup, mild . We tried the hot soup before and it was too spicy for us . Good quality of food . Great service and a big parking lot just outside the front door. I used to think Miga Korean Restaurant was a hidden gem for our family. We have been regular customers for quite some time, usually visiting during busy dinner hours. Because of that, we always understood that food and side dish refills might take a bit longer, which felt reasonable given how crowded it gets. However, I recently had a very different experience during a weekday lunch when I dined alone. The restaurant was empty, and I was the only customer there. I noticed that rice and side dishes were already prepared at the counter, but they were not brought out until the main dish was ready. While I understand that some Korean restaurants manage side dishes carefully since they are included with the meal, it still felt unnecessarily restrictive. What stood out more was that after finishing my initial side dishes, I was not offered any refills. Even when I tried to get attention, it felt like I was being overlooked. If side dishes are limited to one serving, it would be much better to communicate that clearly instead of leaving customers guessing. Been wanting to try for a while now & saw its good reviews on beli. Came in on a busy Friday & there was plenty of parking and server was very friendly and nice. I'm a huge fan of Korean food and saw the good reviews so we ordered a seafood pajeon + spicy squid. We waited over 20 minutes for our food and got the seafood pancake and the bigger pieces were almost liquidy/raw from the mixture on the inside. This is my new favorite Korean restaurant in the Fremont area and I can't believe that I haven't tried Miga until now. Miga is the coziest Korean restaurant I've been to and has such a mom and pop vibe. The restaurant itself is dated, but that doesn't matter since tantalizing smells hit your nose as you open the door. Seating is limited, so be aware if you come during peak times. I arrived before the lunch rush on a Saturday but was also dining solo, so I was seated promptly. There were also plenty of Korean grandmas that started arriving in the middle of my meal, so that's how you know this place is legit. I was feeling a bit under the weather, so I beelined towards the tofu soup section of the menu. I was immediately drawn to the assorted tofu soup (#6), since it came with a good variety of meat. I did still take a look at the rest of the menu and took a few mental notes about what dishes I would like to try next when I returned. Everything was quite affordably priced, especially for Korean food in the Bay Area. I didn't have to wait long for my banchan and boiling tofu soup to arrive to my table. The soup was so bubbly that some of it was spilling over the sides of the hot stone bowl, which I love seeing. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the amount of banchan that I received, especially since I was dining alone. I quickly added my raw egg to my tofu soup to cook and started to dig in to my banchan. All the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful! As I went through my steaming bowl of tofu soup, I was surprised by how much meat there was. For the price of the tofu soup, I'm used to a decent amount of meat/seafood, but this was the most amount of meat & seafood that I've ever received in a tofu soup. And they still managed to pack a good amount of tofu in my bowl too! Needless to say I was very happy with my choice for lunch. The flavors were also on point (I got medium spicy but could have gone with spicy) and so comforting. I was hungry that afternoon, so I cleared every little plate of banchan and finished my tofu soup and rice bowl, but it was definitely a filling lunch. My craving for intestines really intensified after watching so many Korean mukbangers eat grilled gopchang... Miga is one of the few Korean spots in the East Bay that serves it! A small, cozy Korean restaurant packed with older Korean aunties and uncles - a good indicator of tasty, traditional Korean food! Came in for lunch on a weekday and was seated immediately. The restaurant was pretty full for the entirety of my meal, even for a work day! The restaurant itself is pretty small, so I can imagine there being quite a wait for larger parties. As with most traditional Korean places, banchan was served first - you can tell a lot about a place on the quality of their banchan. Their kimchi was the perfect amount of fermented-ness (??) for me - spicy, salty, slightly sweet and sour. The other banchan served was also very tasty, I finished all of them at the end of my meal. To satisfy my craving, I ordered the gopchang bokkeum ($26.99)- spicy stir-fried beef intestine served with vegetables. The gopchang came coated in a deliciously spicy, savory and salty sauce cooked with onions, topped with shredded perilla leaves. The gopchang itself was literally BURSTING with its innards, but surprisingly had none of the stinky smell that sometimes comes with unclean intestine!! Overcooked intestine can sometimes feel like you're chewing on a piece of gum, but this was quite the opposite - lightly chewy, but still soft and bursting with flavor. The perilla leaf on top was such a refreshing touch to the fatty flavor from the gopchang - the perfect pairing! The perfect bite for me was a couple of pieces of gopchang with some slivers of perilla wrapped in kimchi, ugh my heaven. The portion size was pretty big for the price, considering it's nearly impossible to find good quality intestine anywhere in the east bay - I ate about 2/3 and was stuffed. 10/10 would recommend if you like intestine! We ordered the fried dumplings which tasted like Costco bibigo mandu so it wasn't anything special. We also ordered the tofu soup and bulgogi special. I could've sworn that I reviewed Miga already but anyways, MIGA: Small space. Big taste! Miga has been one of our family's go to places for Korean for what seems like 10 years now. Solid choices across the board, and they serve beer (bottled and in a giant dispenser thing), soju, and we got to try one of their new offerings this past visit- like a Soon Hari "Truly".
