I was nonetheless adamant about using the lowest setting, taking precaution. Dr. Karen, in whom I trusted with my face, did a laser treatment on me that permanently scarred my face. She also neglected to provide me with eye protection because she said I didn't need it, since the setting was purportedly on low, and it affected my eyes thereafter. I live everyday with the horror of a needless 20 minutes scarring my face for the rest of my life. In the aftermath, her notes suggested a higher setting than we had agreed upon. Please know that lasers and 'cosmetic' procedures aren't risk-free. I would seriously caution you to avoid her, and to avoid anything cosmetic that's truly unnecessary. And always - always - cover your eyes. I say this for me, and for anyone, for every woman, who might benefit from knowing this happens.

My family has been seen by Dr. Karen over the last decade and she is just the best! Always uber responsive and always ultra caring. Dr. Clark managed to take what was virtually a bookkeeping error following a 10 minute appointment and turn it into two years of aggravation during which she made the worst business choices and behaved as badly as she possibly she could have and directed her staff to do the same. This culminated in my having to sue her in small claims court. I just received a check from Sheryl Clark in full settlement of my claim. If the doctor had just owned up to the mistakes made by her office and herself over the past two years, it wouldn't have had to come to this. Even if she were a capable doctor, I could hardly call her a decent human being. Would you believe the doctor actually tried to get me to sign a non-disclosure agreement just to avoid having me write a post like this. It would serve the doctor well to remember that New York is a city with an abundance of dermatologists - some of whom actually behave with integrity and treat their patients with respect. However, you can find yourself waiting a minimum of an hour to be seen by the doctor. Her assistant makes passive aggressive comments to clients and unless you are frequent patient your requests for appointments are answered any time between one week and a month and a half later!!!
