Everyone around me got their food. I had been sitting for 5 minutes before I had my order taken which was fine. i ordered my food. it was a chicken club and a side salad.. not that hard. 15 mins goes by I still don't have my food. Waitress comes over and tell me we are waiting on bacon. I said ok that's fine. another 10 mins goes by and she comes back asking if I want something different since the bacon is taking a while. I told her no that's fine can I just get my food without the bacon. Then she comes back another 5-10 mins and told me that they just aren't going to make my food. Gene's Bistro is certainly an option to eat at in that they offer technically-edible food which would satisfy an orphan. My girlfriend and I ate here, and her sandwich was a frozen chicken patty on a stale, rock-hard, bun with coleslaw which was indescribably off by coleslaw standards. I stopped in here while waiting for my flight. Sat at the bar and had a few beers. Didn't eat as I wasn't hungry. The service I got was fine. But I noticed how they treated customers who either wanted to sit at a table and eat, or take food to go. One person walked up to the register and placed a carry out order. While he was waiting, another came up to do the same and was told they don't do carry out orders. He said he was told to come to the cashier to place a carry out order and was told they don't have cashiers. Isn't that what the person at the register is? So he left. Right after he left, that first person was given their carry out order. One lady sat at a table (open seating, sit anywhere you want) and was told she couldn't sit there, and they moved her to a different table. She eventually went to the counter to ask if she can place an order, and was told no, she had to wait for a server. Said she had been waiting 20 minutes, no one has come to take her order, has to catch her flight, and can't wait much longer. They said they'd send a server over and never did. Overheard a server saying "she came in here with an attitude (she 100% did not) so she can wait." That lady ended up leaving. Then another instance of one person placing a carry out order, and another being told they don't do that. It's like they pick and choose who they want to serve. People sitting at the bar seemed to be taken care of. But those who didn't, it was hit or miss. I was appalled at how they treated some of the customers who just wanted something to eat. So if you're looking for food, I'd go somewhere else. You never know if they're actually going to allow you to order or not. It was my first time in here, and definitely my last. read more

I ordered the "Recommended" chicken Caesar salad and it was inedible. The lettuce was old and bruised and soggy and the flavor was terrible. I also got a hot dog. How hard is it to make a good hot dog? Very, apparently. The food was so bad that we couldn't eat it and are now waiting in line at a second restaurant in the airport. Me neither nobody has but imagine how that experience would go... paper plates, chicken nuggets from the freezer section, and the feeling like this was a poor investment of time or money ($1.99 upcharge for fries *which tells you how good the salad is* do people freeze salad??) I ordered a Korean bbq chicken sandwich, sounds bussin' right? Well let me be the first to tell you - the place has 1.7 stars for a reason. As soon as the food arrived I was sent back to the hyperbolic cheap friends house. A friend so cheap that they charged $16 for something that costs $2 at Costco and takes 2 minutes to heat up (took 45 minutes to come). Now you may begin to question why on Gods green earth I've given this place two (2) stars. Well, I wanted to give it 1.5 stars but that's not an option. Wow. Horrible service. Gene needs to teach his hostess something about customer service. The restaurant was only half full and the hostess took us to a high top table. My wife asked if she could sit at a normal table for comfort and she said no. She gave some excuse that she had to rotate guest with the other waitresses and we had to sit there. My wife asked if we could wait and let someone else sit at this high top, then she could give us a table. She said no. This is the table I assigned to you. We weren't sure if we heard her correctly so we asked her to repeat then she said, "Hi. What can I get you?" She then took our order which took forever to receive. I ordered orange juice that came warm and my husband ordered milk. The milk came in a container. It felt warm to the touch but the expiration date had not passed so my husband tasted it and it was spoiled for sure. My husband also ordered the berry pancakes that were just plain pancakes with blueberries on the side - the blueberries came frozen. Stopped for a drink and a bite on a layover. $11 plus for a beer is high, but expected for an airport bar. Surprisingly, the beer was cold and clean, kudos for that. I ordered the 'Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich ' which I put in quotes since what was served was a mirage of what it was supposed to be. A cold brioche bun with a chicken tender, decent slaw but the ultimate insult, the 'Korean ' sauce was good 'ol fashioned bbq sauce. The highlight was the Manager Dee. His participation warrants five stars even if his restaurant strives to be the 2 stars given. My CC dropped behind the bar cooler and he moved said cooler to retrieve it, despite my assurance that it was fine. My suggestion is, if you want a cold beer and an awesome Manager, this is a good spot. If you want food that's good, seek somewhere else. read more

People pass on this restaurant. First, we waited about 10 mins to be seated. Mind you were in the airport. There's one waitress VS many customers. The food is crap. The eggs were pre-cooked, the tater tots were full of grease and fried too hard. You could not taste the potato inside. The toast was hard and tough to chew, and the bacon was scraps! Service wasn't great, the breakfast menu is 3 different sandwiches, and everything is pretty overpriced.

The service was friendly and food was quick but I basically laid $50 for two basic sandwiches. I had the club and my guess had the chicken sandwich.
