Managers are idiots during this World Cup. We showed up over an hour before game time, sat down, were served food and drinks, and then kicked out because we didn't have a reservation "for the game." Manager tried to get us to throw waitstaff (who were very kind) under the bus, telling us "they should have told you about this policy." General Admission has a great chef, Mario Valdez. He puts great items on the menu in a bar/pub type environment. They have a wonderful menu with stacked sandwiches, yummy salads, really good burgers, and shareable plates which are so good. They even have something I call pizza, but it isn't really, it is a flatbread with great toppings or another bread type item that sure reminds me of pizza with similar toppings. They have MARGARITA which is CRISPY PEPPERONI WITH A DRIZZLE OF SPICY HONEY, MELTY CHEESE, AND MARINARA ON A THIN, FLATBREAD. They also have great chicken tenders, wonderful wraps and yummy salads. My favorite being the Caesar. The service is great and the place is clean and comfortable. They have great drinks and some nice big screen TVs. Came here before Universal Horror Nights on a Thursday around 4:30pm because it was so close & happy hour was listed as M-F 3-6pm. We start to order off the HH menu and the waitress says she doesn't think it's happy hour (??) and confirms it's not due to the fact there's a game on soon? The game didn't start for another hour and aside from the fact we were clearly not there for that, we were absolutely stunned to see "please note: happy hour may not be available during specific major sporting events" was mentioned in tiny fine print on the bottom of the menu. We chose to order the same food items anyway because we were splitting it amongst 3 of us - and service quickly dwindled after that. We were left alone for a while and were finally given the bill - $103 LOL for 3 beers, 2 sliders, fries & crispy tuna rice. Turns out they also automatically added 20% gratuity which irritated us even more since the service didn't call for more than 10%. Came to GA for Wednesday night trivia and had a great time. Staff is very welcoming and it seems supportive of one another, as more than one server checked on us repeatedly through our stay. I was surprised they offer all day HH specials on Wednesday, alongside trivia, but I was happy to make some selections of nibbles from these specials. I started with the lively "Love 40" libation of vodka and lemonade raspberry. Very refreshing. Hubs ordered the Classic burger, which was $12 on the HH menu and served a la carte. He also foregoes the garnish, preferring just a meat and cheese burger, so it looked kinda small without the arugula, caramelized onions , tomatoes and pickles, but he said it was tasty and satisfying. I opted for the Carne Asada Street Fries, which were a full plate of yumminess, topped with a delicious dollop of fresh guac. They had a sliiight kick, but having the pico on the side made them manageable for my delicate palette. lol Lots of fun, teams were in high spirits and the trivia host kept the music pumping and the good vibes flowing. I love the large, open windows that made the space feel even more inviting. We found parking on the street, but there were also a few spots in the back. We had plans to be in the area, so we made brunch reservations at General Admission. When we arrived, we were surprised to be told that GA is not affiliated with Open Table. It was a busy time with the place near capacity with football fans. The team member who greeted us said that we can sit anywhere, except for the "Reserved" table. We were lucky to have found one open table at a nice corner spot. Despite the packed house, service was super-friendly and efficient. Our food came out fast, and drinks refilled continuously. Checking on customers was non-stop and everyone seemed just happy to be there. The vibe was infectiously fun. We ordered the Chik, Biscuits & Gravy and Chorizo Skillet. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the perfectly crispy chicken and chorizo gravy but found the biscuits dry. Some butter or extra gravy may have helped. My Chorizo Skillet was satisfying and delicious. Stopped in here on a Saturday after a day at Universal Studios. It's like a sports bar vibe with some open outdoor seating. They have a cool little happy hour menu, but it's not available on the weekends. It has a family friendly vibe during the day and more of a lounge vibe at night. We ended up getting some chicken nachos and a couple drinks. The chicken nachos were very yummy, lots of flavor just wish there was a large serving. NBA Playoff Game between Minnesota and Oklahoma (Game 2). It's why I was up in the Valley on a Thursday night. Lost my friendly wager with a friend but had a great time catching up with friends and enjoying some good food and drinks. For starters, parking. There are a handful of spots out back otherwise, it's street parking. I lucked out and found a spot without having to do any laps around the neighborhood. Read the signs as I didn't go out looking for what, if any - the parking restrictions might be. I sat at the bar but know there's both outdoor and indoor seating. I like the open air concept - the entire front of the building is open for natural light. And fresh air if depending on what you consider fresh air in California. The place has a modern feel and is nice and clean. TV's all around so there's not really a bad seat in the place if that's what you're there for. As for service, Tiffany, behind the bar was aces. Both the server and bartender. The old fashioned, whiskey sour and margarita I had were all great - balanced and good tasting. Food was decent for what I consider bar food. See pics. Huge portions to the point I'm still full and I'm composing this, this morning after my visit last night. For future games, this is definitely on my list of places to go to as it's not that bad to get to after work seeing as I don't work too far and I'm going against traffic. Plenty of sauces and queso that not a single fry was dry. The portion was also very very generous. I can never resist buffalo wings and tried them here with traditional buffalo sauce. I got here around 4:30pm on Saturday and there was plenty of places to seat yourself (although it got busier around 5ish and they were shifting people seated at large tables to accommodate reservations). The place itself has a really cool vibe and look inside, with good music (pretty loud though) and TVs showing all different sports games. There's also a patio with some outdoor seating. The menu has a variety of different bar food options but more upscale than a typical kitchen + bar, with reasonable prices. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, market fries and a buffalo style chicken caeser wrap to share among 2 people and it was more than enough food, with leftovers. The food was really great and the service was super fast. I paid for an hour on the meter and got back with 25min to spare. There doesn't seem to be a lot of designated parking but there was plenty of cheap street parking. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at General Admission. The service was extremely slow and disorganized from the moment we arrived. There were long periods where the staff seemed more focused on talking among themselves than helping customers. It was difficult to get anyone's attention to place orders or ask questions. The biggest issue was how the bar handled the World Cup games. My friend and I were sitting at the bar, ordered food and drinks, and watched the first match. Then, just before the second game started, we were suddenly told that anyone sitting at the bar had to spend a minimum of $75 per person to keep their seat for the second game, regardless of what we had already ordered or spent during the first game. I immediately asked the bartender if we had to pay the $75 right away. She didn't really answer my question and simply walked away. I then asked another employee, who appeared to be a manager, and he explained that we didn't have to pay it immediately--we just had to reach the $75 minimum during the game. I thought, "Okay, that's fine," because the rest of my friends were arriving for the second game. They weren't sitting at the bar, but they were standing with us and ordering drinks. Our group ended up spending well over the combined $150 minimum that was being required for my friend and me. Naturally, I assumed our group's purchases would count, like they would at any normal bar. However, in the middle of the game, the bartender came back and kept telling us that we weren't ordering enough. I explained that our group had already spent well over the required amount, but she told us that none of our friends' orders counted because only the two people physically sitting at the bar had to individually spend $75 each. I had honestly never heard of anything like that before. I was shocked and confused. I even asked, "So one of my friends has to sit in my chair just for their order to count?" The whole situation made absolutely no sense. If that's really how your bar operates, customers should be told before they even sit down. Have someone at the entrance explain the policy or post clear signs so customers know exactly what they're agreeing to before they order food and drinks. Had I known about this policy beforehand, I never would have wasted my time staying at your bar--I simply would have gone somewhere else with my friends. Don't wait until people have already spent hours there, gotten comfortable, and are watching the game to suddenly tell them they have to spend another $75 or leave. It felt misleading and like we were being pressured to keep spending money after we'd already settled in. We eventually decided we didn't want to continue ordering just to reach that amount, so we got up to leave our seats. We made it very clear that we did not agree with being charged. Despite that, we were told they already had our card on file and would charge it anyway. They went ahead and charged both of us $75 each--even after we clearly said we did not agree to it and had gotten up to leave our seats. When we calmly tried to ask questions about the charge, the bartender became extremely rude and started yelling at us in front of other customers. She even came out from behind the bar while continuing to argue in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. There was absolutely no reason for that level of hostility. Even the people I was with commented on how shocking and unprofessional her behavior was. To make matters worse, the hamburger we ordered had paper inside the food. We reported it, but the overall response made us feel like our concerns were not taken seriously. Between the poor service, the bartender's aggressive attitude, the confusing minimum-spend policy for bar seating, being charged after we clearly said we did not agree, and finding paper in our food, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. The entire experience felt disorganized, unprofessional, and incredibly frustrating. Instead of enjoying the World Cup with my friends, I spent the game dealing with confusing policies, unnecessary stress, and completely unprofessional, low-class behavior from the bartenders. Completely unbelievable. I won't be returning, and I definitely can't recommend this place. read more

We then sat for about 15 minutes with zero acknowledgment while watching other tables be served. It was not a packed or chaotic environment. There were multiple empty tables on the patio and near the bar, so the explanation of a "busy service period" does not align with reality. Your team seated us and then completely ignored us. What's most concerning is that your response immediately defaults to questioning the validity of my experience rather than taking accountability. Whether or not you "have an Anthony" is irrelevant. A staff member set the expectation that someone else would assist us, and no one did. An apology after the fact, paired with explanations that contradict what actually happened, does not resolve anything. The reality is simple: we were seated, ignored, and left without being served. read more

Sunday night myself and a group of guys from my Fantasy Football League decided to have our draft here. We were able to sit immediately and was greeted by a server who took our drink orders. I only had a couple beers (which were ice COLD, as they should be) and the others ordered come cocktails that were amazing. I was disappointed in myself for not ordering a couple. We ordered a few plates for the table to share: Wings (Lemon Pepper and Buffalo), Chicken Nachos, and the Honey Pepperoni Pizza. Everything was GREAT! My boyfriend had been wanting to try this spot without even knowing anything about it, so we went to watch a game on a day that we know was going to be packed.
