Wow. Well I'm from TN and I wanted to try the location here since I always have bad experiences back home. I was immediately impressed soon as I walked in. The place was so clean. It's never clean back home in Memphis. The bar is normally dirty and flies flying around. This location is the totally opposite of that. Order - To Go When I walked in it was not clear as to where the line starts. I just saw people everywhere going from station to station in no particular order. The bartender noticed my confusion and told me where to start. I like that they had a Variety of protein and veggies, I just wish they took the time to refill and clean. After building bowl and waiting for it to cook, I paid for my meal. The bowl came out to $13 without a drink. :( After waiting about 10 mins I finally got my meal. Oh man this was BEYOND THE WORST EXPERIENCE of my life. They were out of eggs, and skinny noodles as well. The staff is the rudest bunch of people. We walked in and sat for 15 minutes before the hostess came up and said "what size bowls do you need?" No hi, smile or anything. Then when we found out there weren't any eggs, the waitress finally came over to deliver the bowls and NO SMILE or anything again, my friend told her to take the bowl off because he didn't want it without eggs and she told someone else who came over and had to ask three times with no apologies or anything that he wanted it taken off the bilol. So this place you are able to pick up the items you would like in your meal off of an assembly line. The concept is pretty nice because you can fill up your bowl as much as possible but the only thing I don't like is food is just sitting there for hours until replaced and sometimes bugs are in the air. The food is cooked on a large grill hibachi style. I decided to make a veggie bowl because I don't like the quality of the meats. My veggie bowl consisted of mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Overall the place is nice if you would like to create your own type of bowl.. there are plenty options and you can add all types of sauces to make your ideal hibachi style meal. Just have to say Uber delivery screwed up my order and didn't grab everything. I suggest not using a delivery service as we all know they fall short when we order takeout. I went to Genghis Grill in Addison, TX to deal with the issue myself and they were very helpful and understanding. They made it right. The food was good. The tables were sticky and unclean. The waiter was inept. He forgot my drink, let our food sit at the cooking station and, worst of all, stood beside me while I wrote in his tip on his check-out computer. I did notice that the wait staff were people of color who gave a great deal better service to patrons of color. The man restocking the bins of food from which you select, didn't even know what food he was stocking. My steak was poorly cooked. The wait staff apparently didn't share tips with the cooks, because there was a tacky "Tips" jar at that station. All in all, avoid the place! read more

I'm new to the city and we used to have this place back home years ago but it closed down. I was so excited to hear and see this place was in Dallas. I wanted a margarita since it's as considered National Margarita Day lol and it was tasty. I ordered lettuce wraps and wow is all I can say. They were simply delicious. One thing I noticed is my waiter seemed to be helping everyone out more than the rest of the workers in the restaurant. He deserved the tip I left as everyone else seemed as if they were bored with nothing to do. He was the bartender and my waiter. I definitely appreciate that and he didn't leave me unattended either. Management needs to work on that part but his service was great so I would still give 5 stars. read more

Sometimes things should stay the same. This was my fourth visit to this location. Wonderful remodel. The place looks very nice. After the makeover, everything else is a disappointment. Many of the food selections were empty. They were out of many vegetables. They did not have noodles. We didn't go when they were closing, but this is during the dinner time. The place was not crowded. Four tables were occupied. I was highly disappointed. Previous experiences the wait staff would place you name on your tickets so your order doesn't get mixed up with other members in your party instead of having to look and guess who's meal is who. Do not believe I will not be returning. Do not recommend this location. read more

Genghis grill I went to this location 03/12/21. My server Sebastian was rude, disrespectful and condescending. My boyfriend and I had him as a server before and he was just as rude. The first time I tipped generously bc I thought he was having a bad day. This time was different. He literally started a screaming match with me in the middle of the restaurant after I explained why I left him no tip. Mind you his coworker told him to go to the back before there was any screaming and he responded "No, I think I am gonna stay for this one". As if he is used to having his customers complain about his service. This was my second horrible experience with Sebastian. After the whole dining and arguing with my waiter experience I called the restaurant and spoke to the MOD since one did not come to us at the time of the incident, and she said his behavior was unacceptable, apologized and told me I would have to speak to the hiring/firing manager. Sebastian screaming at me was the cherry on my experience because the entire dining experience with him was awful too. He argued with me on what I wanted to order even after I said ok. There was an unknown food or thing inside my bowl, it was slimy on the inside but tough on the outside and he couldn't tell me what it was. I spoke with the hiring manager David and he proceeded to tell me that Sebastian has great in store reviews, told me that he was getting ready to call me before I had called him even though I never provided a number for any of them to call (so he lied to me) and gave me a fake apology. Needless to say this restaurant is terrible and does not hold their staff to any kind of customer service standard. So, this is my third time coming to this location since the remodel. The previous two times, they ran out of ingredients. This time, we said we will come a bit earlier so we aren't left with the scraps. Well, they had all the ingredients but unfortunately my bowl came out undercooked. Smh ... Chicken was not fully cooked. Shrimp wasn't fully cooked. Veggies, etc ... And my ingredient (egg) was left out. I had them send my bowl back to be recooked, but at that point, it was over cooked and dry. I just gave up, took my little discount and left. Wasn't even worth the hassle any further. Used to be my favorite spot. Went in tonight and took my little brother out to dinner both of us made our bowls we sat down and waited they brought his food and he started eating. He ate his entire meal and I sat there and waited. Server Vincent just kept looking at our table never asked if my food has came or apologized. The food came but it was already late. Left with 0 tip and not rushing back. Went back last night to try again - 3/5/19 around 830 Went last night for dinner with family and friend. Food was good. But by the end of the dinner we started to pay and a roach started crawling towards us in the booth...... yeah never again. I've passed this restaurant many times as you cant miss it as its at the intersection of Belt Line Rd and across from a Starbucks. We finally decided to try it for lunch after getting good feedback from my colleagues at work. I'll be back! It's similar to Mongolian Barbecue EXCEPT there are NO seconds, or thirds or fourths. The bowls are fairly small, I think they do this on purpose to keep customer's from getting extra meat or seafood. I Would recommend to go with the largest bowl and stack your food at least a foot high with meat or chicken before giving to the chef to cook! I'm going to try the Signature Bowl recipe cards they have next time. The only problem is I dont think they have a recipe card for all of the meats in a bowl! Plenty of parking and service is pretty fast. If you are in the area and want a decent meal for lunch then this is the place to go. Perfect for anyone on the Keto diet! read more

The food is good, don't get me wrong. But if you go here, just grab it to-go and leave. Having worked in the service industry, I honestly think you are the scum of the earth if you don't tip, but these guys should not be earning tips. I'm mad I tipped over 20%, or anything at all. On 4 separate occasions I went here and was ignored, even after flat out saying "can I get a beer". One dude munches in the corner at his own table by the bar and will ignore you even if you are sitting there with not even a water cup in front of you. When I asked the other guy if I could order, he said he didn't want to steal the other guys tip.... Only tip he's getting is the tip of his fork in his mouth. So not only was service bad, but after asking they intentionally walk away. The one person that should be earning tips are the cooks because they're the only ones actually working. One of the times I went in while it was busy, one guy had all the tables and the 2 others kept snap chatting their friends by the front desk. Seems pretty bold to be sending selfies in a Genghis polo, but I guess that's the new brand standard. If you can ignore the extreme cross contamination going on in the line, have all your shots, and someone else driving you home, then Genghis Grill is for you. read more

I cannot remember ever having a worse dining experience. Myself and 3 of my brothers went to the Addison location to celebrate on of their birthdays and the service was AWFUL. Usually if your food is bad at Genghis Grill, odds are it is partially your fault as most people "build a bowl". I actually just ordered something off of the menu (pad Thai)... my 3 brothers built their own. Our food came out before our apps did (the pork potstickers are yummy) and when mine came out it was tofu, bean sprouts, green onion, egg, and pad Thai sauce over rice. I'm not one to send food back but I ordered a rice *noodle* dish. When I told the waiter there was a mistake and that my food came with rice instead of being tossed with rice noodles he told me "it's a pre-made dish. That's just how it comes" I explained that the menu (not to mention the freaking origin of the dish) said rice noodles. He huffed, took my bowl back and returned two minutes later with the same bowl (a LOT of rice still left in it) and a cold, congealed blob of udon noodles on top. I didn't bother sending it back a second time and just accepted that it would make matters worse and we were there to celebrate. Our drinks didn't get refilled until the end of the meal and when they did, two of the three sodas were mostly bubbly water. I wish I had taken a picture of both, but did not anticipate leaving a review. The waiter was rude and clearly did not want to be there. I don't know his name because he didn't have a name tag and didn't bother introducing himself. He never came back around to pickup the card scanner from when we paid, so we had to find another server to leave it with. We will not be returning here and wish we had picked another restaurant for my brothers birthday. I strongly suggest going to another location. read more

I LOVE Genghis Grill for many reasons. 1) they start you off with a bowl 2) you can put any sort of protein in the bowl whether it be chicken, fish, shrimp, beef, steak or anything you see in the protein section. 3) you pick your veggies and toppings 4) you pick your sauces and seasons 5) take it to the hibachi area, you get a choice of brown rice, steamed rice, noodles, etc... 6) they prepare it for you and bring it out to you. Well, ultimately its up to you on how the food tastes, since you pick the portions and spices/sauces. So if it tastes horrible, its your fault. On the other hand, if it tastes good, but for some reason, every time you have it, you end up with the urge to say hi to the toilet almost immediately afterwards, something may be up with their cleanliness. So, while it tastes good, it often times can expedite your digestive system. It may be just this location, because I don't think I've had the same sort of express track at other locations (that I've visited with extreme caution). Just keepin it real. read more

I'm a Genghis Grill fan! I've been to the Addison location a countless number of times, and I must say, the staff has my heart. I'm greeted with love and hugs from everybody. When I walk in, I feel right at home. That is the main reason I give them 5 stars. Hospitality rules over anything. I love the food. There are plenty of wonderful proteins, veggies, seasonings, sauces and starches to choose from. I try new combinations each time I'm there. I'm a fan of a healthy eating and I love the fact that I know what goes in my bowl. No hidden ingredients! Plus, there's an available guide that shows the caloric makeup of all the food available. My bowl is always grilled to perfection. Never over or under cooked!! The only con I have about this location is the space. It's a little tight in there. The food bar area is hard to get around when the restaurant gets crowded. It would be nice to expand the size of this restaurant. That way, more people can be served. Other than that, I love Genghis Grill! Shoutout to Ed, Ted, Ross, Kurtis with a K, Angel, Q, Cheyenne, Sydney, Loren, Jason, Forest, Alex, Claudia, Marta, Angel, Sorano, Fernando, Britten and everyone else I've met.
