2 proteins bowls (chicken & beef) Edamame Gyoza
    Mary D.

We stopped in here to pick up a quick dinner and were very happy with our meal. Prices are for a casual spot, which is accurate for the build-your-own menu. The protein, veggie and rice bowls are great and tasty. The sauces weren't what we expected (we were thinking Benihana style sauces), but were both delicious. The mustard is creamier while the other is more of a chili sauce. All in all happy with this spot for picking up a quick dinner and will be back!

I think we are way over due for an updated review! This is my weekly go to meal, seriously I'm obsessed. I usually order my food ahead of time and just pop in to pick up so there is never a wait. The staff follows any special instructions i may have such as extra sauce or anything like that. If you are a sauce person you know how important this is lol The food is always fresh and i can always count on being satisfied

The food was delicious. I particularly loved the beef ribs since they are hard to find. I wish there was more ribs vs all the rice included; however, I will be back to the restaurant again. I truly enjoyed the meal.

Great food. I love their steak and shrimp hibachi as well as the jalapeño poppers. But make sure you get the jalapeño poppers earlier so that they are fresh.

My first time here unfortunately i don't like under coooked shrimp was! My shrimp does t even look like the grilled shrimp i. The photo! Girl tells me if i wanted well done i should have said something! I'm sorry i did t know asking for grilled shrimp like the pic is something i have to ask for!!! I won't be back here!!!

Food was ok to not very good. More than that, the person taking my order would not put his phone down so I had to keep repeating myself which is annoying when you're trying to give someone money for food. I rarely give a negative review

Yes, we enjoyed dinner today (December 2022) at their Addison location on Belt Line near Marsh.

When we walked in, the hostess had a poor attitude and was off putting. Unfriendly and borderline rude. We made sure to get there as soon as they opened because we knew it would be dead, and we'd have better luck at quicker service. Unfortunately, they sat us outside because we had our ESA animal in an enclosed carrier after grilling us about what services he performs, and I believe we were forgotten about since we were the only ones on the porch. It was a very warm day with high humidity. I asked the hostess if she could make sure the fans were on since it was so hot, and she asked, "So, you want me to turn them off?" We only ordered two apps of Roti Canai, one order of the twice friend wings, and an order or the donuts (all were ordered at once to help speed things along since it was so hot outside.) It took quite a while, and the wings came out soggy and cold, which is not the norm. A thunderstorm was coming in, and we had been waiting on our donuts for at least 20 minutes at this point. My husband informed the hostess that we would have to either cancel the order or move inside since it was about to start raining. She flippantly said that she would have to ask the manager first if we were allowed inside. We were so turned off that it really ruined the experience, and it was not the way we wanted to celebrate Mother's Day. The donuts finally came out (also cold), and I had my husband just give her the credit card without the check so we could hurry up and get off the porch before it started coming down. We rushed through the dessert and left. Not loving our experience and not sure if we'll be back until the attitude and service changes. We're bummed because we were always a fan of this place until now.

One of the people dining with us has a serious fish allergy and the restaurant staff was super accommodating and found something that he could have off the menu. They went so far as to remove the glaze from the brisket since it included fish sauce. Overall the food and the drinks were delicious and the staff was great! I ordered the Thai wings, and when they arrived, I immediately noticed an unpleasant smell. I took one bite and sent them back. They had no real flavor, and the smell made them hard to eat. I then got the crispy chicken sandwich. It was somewhat salty, but it also tasted like it had been fried in old grease, which left a bad taste in my mouth. My wife ordered the fried ribs. After asking for some sauce to go with them, they actually ended up being the best thing we ordered. Even so, the lingering aftertaste still reminded us of old grease. The drinks were decent, but overall this is not a place I would come back to or try again.

I believe it was the owner who came around and was handing out Easter eggs to my kids and paper to draw on. She told me she would keep the kids busy so I could relax and enjoy my food. She also walked around with another table's toddler to keep him busy so that mom could finish her food too. That alone made me want to come back. Our waitress was amazing and recommended the Katsu Curry which is not the original Katsu Curry, but a ramen version. She let me know and said if I like ramen and Katsu Curry then this would be a good choice. It was. The curry ramen broth clung to the noodles and was packed with flavor. I loved that there was potatoes and carrots still, because that's something I love in curry. It's definitely my favorite version of ramen now. We ordered each type of the animal buns. The kids had fun eating and trying them. The bunny/Nutella, and Piggy/pork, were their favorites. They provide a shipping sauce for the savory buns, but we enjoyed them without the sauce. Service, food, and ambiance was all top notch. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, clean and well maintained. The tables have plenty of room between each other and they can do small and large groups. We've added this place to our family favorites.

For reference, the Little Katana happy hour sashimi appetizer is 7+ larger, fresh pieces INCLUDING a beer or wine for $15. When I asked how many pieces it included when I ordered it, the waitress didn't seem to know, mentioning anywhere from 5 to 10 pieces. I'd probably not order this option on return visits. The other items tried were all very good and reasonably priced. Their take on the margarita was also tasty and really didn't stray much in taste from a typical spicy margarita. Aside from not knowing menu details, the service provided was otherwise very good and efficient. Drinks, however, took longer than expected to arrive, showing up after some of the food items had already been served. That may have been more of a bar issue than the servers. Ambiance is great. Very nice and peaceful, especially in the booths at the back. Looked like a nice bar and patio area, too! Will definitely be back!

I've been to Michelin starred omakases (including tempura omakases) in Japan and New York, and this place honestly meets or comes extremely close to fitting the bill in terms of food and service. At the Michelin restaurants, you pay almost double the price for high quality ingredients, stellar service, ambiance, and a Japanese toilet :P For $100 pp for the tempura omakase at Takumi Hachi, you leave feeling full and satisfied, with a great selection of light and deliciously fried fritters. Each person gets a bowl of their divinely delicious tempura sauce with a generous amount of shaved daikon (not even lying when i say this is my favorite tempura sauce i've had, i could've just drank it on its own) and a selection of salts, with each course given a recommendation of which salt to use. In terms of ambiance: frankly speaking, if it was just the counter service omakase, i'd say it would feel more stuffy and unapproachable. But there is a general seating area that is not counter service where you can order off the menu for sushi, robata, and a la carte options. No dress code enforced or recommended, so you can be dining with all sorts of patrons with different sizes of families and children. whether or not this is your jam, it's still an extremely accessible place to dine for anyone and everyone. Reservations were incredibly easy to make (tempura omakase only From Sunday thru Thursday). Service was really kind and attentive, my husband's water literally never went below half empty. The only thing to take service to the next level is if they cleaned/wiped your plate/gave you a new plate between each course. American toilet. Lol. That's neither here nor there, but the bathroom is very clean lol! They were also sweet enough to read my reservation note for the occasion for dining and gifted us a delicious strawberry mousse, accompanied with a surprise tableside matcha to end the meal. I'm already looking forward to try their kaiseki set meal next time, and know that this place is a top contender to take my friends or loved ones for special occasions. I can't speak much for their sushi, but I added on some robata and grill menu items to the omakase and they were fantastic. Highly recommend the maitake mushroom tempura add on to your course. If you order ebi sushi, they offer to take the head once you're done eating the sushi and either put it in a miso soup or fry it for you, which i thought was a wonderful option. Also, we got tempura anago, something I've never had anywhere else, served two different ways. That alone was enough to make this experience stand out. For an experience like I had tonight, I felt as if the restaurant should be more full. Maybe because it is tucked away behind the other chain restaurants in Addison that are a little easier to see. Don't hesitate if you see the price tag, I definitely think you get a great value for food, service, and experience. We were there for two hours and enjoyed it very much. Thank goodness i don't have to drive all the way to downtown Dallas to enjoy some delicious Japanese food without the headache and hassle of finding parking and an accessible reservation.

The clay pot was actually a huge portion as both of us ended up getting two bowls worth. Pacing of the meal was solid, kept it moving but didn't feel rushed at all. We were celebrating a birthday and they gave us a sweet treat as well at the end which was so appreciated! Would definitely recommend for a special occasion
