I haven't been to this Genghis Khan in many years, but I was inside Lakewood Mall when I started craving it. An order is now $16.99 plus tax. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the bowl got smaller. I filled mine up with beef, pork, and tons of veggies. The beef and pork were frozen and fluffy, so you have to press them down. Otherwise, a small amount will fill up most of your bowl. At the end, the cooks take your bowl and cook everything, then add the noodles and sauces. I asked for extra garlic and chili oil on the side. The food was piping hot and the serving was huge. It was enough for three people. I really like this dish because the veggies are so fresh and I like the thinly sliced meat. Customer service was good. I didn't feel like a Mongol or a mogul when I dined at Gengis Khan, but perhaps a little bit like a mogrel. After all, it is fusion cuisine that combined a common Mongolian dish with American fast-food culture. It was satisfying to pile on the frozen, sliced meats (beef, pork, chicken, turkey) and veggies into the bowl yourself. The selection was broader than most salad bars. Paired with their noodles and a generous portion of garlic and pepper sauce, the concoction grilled on a gigantic iron plate gave out such tantalizing aroma it would whet any appetite (and draw more customers into the restaurant). It's a stretch to actually call it a restaurant, because you order at the counter and everything is self-served, including the utensils. There isn't much counter dining space to accommodate many diners, but the food court is just outside the store and it wasn't hard to find myself a table. The food came out pretty hot, so pace yourself without burning your mouth. The smell made it hard to wait before taking the first bite. The frozen meat shriveled upon being seared, so there might seem less than you remembered when you put them in the bowl. Because the meats weren't marinated, they might be a bit bland if not consumed with the saucy noodle. The grilled onion and green onion were the best part of my dish. I'm honestly appalled by this location. I went in with my two children and ordered a bowl -- they advertise that you can get as much meat and vegetables as you want. The cooks prepare your food in front of you, so I decided to sit down but kept an eye on the process. To my surprise, I saw them take out some of the meat I had added, leaving me with less and replacing it with extra vegetables. That was absolutely unacceptable and disappointing. On top of that, the front cashier was extremely rude. If you don't like your job, then maybe this isn't the place for you -- customer service isn't for everyone, and that's okay. But that kind of attitude -- rude, unbothered, and clearly not wanting to be there -- is just very unappealing and makes the whole experience worse. I didn't say anything at the moment because I didn't want a confrontation, but I will never return to this place again. This place could have been better in the way that wished it was cleaner and more sanitary. I wanted to add carrots into my noodles but the carrots were not fresh and looked very old. This place brings lots of cherished memories for me and my family! This is probably the only GK location that operates and resembles what the malls were like around 2010 and before. I remember when Lakewood Mall's second floor was the Food Court center. I only go to GK when my family wants it. Staffs were friendly and I love that we can still pile our food. We love to pile our noodles with corn, carrots, various proteins, sauces, cilantros, garlic, and more. One meal can feed up to 1-3 people. 3/9/26 - Remembered liking the stir fried noodles cooked with selected meats and veggies piled high in a bowl with choice of sauces added during the stir fry process on a flat, hot disc when this place was located on the 2nd floor of the Lakewood Mall. The noodles and the taste were not the same. One serving easily feeds 2-3 people; but unfortunately I was not aware of this and my daughter and I ordered separately. Unfortunately, I was short of time and had to leave without trying their food. Luckily, I live in the area and decided to stop by the mall today with no other intent but to indulge in their Mongolian BBQ plate. Upon entering the establishment, you are greeted by a delicious, fresh smell of grilled food. Although it was busy, the line moved quickly. The cashier greeted me, explained to me how their service worked, and made me feel comfortable about eating there. The cooks were respectful and cooked my food perfectly while I watched. On march 19, 2026 at around 7:30 - 7:50 Service is a 0/10 I went in to eat with my boyfriend spending the last $50 to my name getting sooooo excited to eat some tasty noodles! and as I stood besides my boyfriend absolutely mesmerized by the smell and the sound of the noodles sizzled by the cooks, one of the cooks turns at me rolls his eyes and smacks his teeth then in a nasty tone says "move over there". I was shocked to hear this kind of tone come from him considering the fact I never did anything wrong. So i asked him what he said, and he smacked his teeth again and let out the most childish "ohhh my goooddd" and i asked him what the heck his problem was? I was confused as to why I'm being treated so poorly. And coming from over 20 years of CPTSD i began to lose my peace and calm and became a shaken scared crying mess. This man was being so cruel, so i asked the woman behind the counter if she could help control the situation because her employee is making me feel scared and uncomfortable with his aggression and she just looked me and said "oh it's because we're starting to get a long line" as if that justifies the way i was treated. I've been wanting to try this place for some time. I finally came in. I got the bowl. You basically go through a line and pick what you want in your bowl. Veggies, meats and noodles. I need that protein so I added plenty of beef and chicken. Some veggies and they add sauces according to your preferences. Plenty of noodles so you get your moneys worth if you add enough meat. The meat quality is a little on the down side. Kind of chewy and shrinks supper fast. So you're not left with much. So add plenty of meat! All in all, I loved it! I don't know why others hate on it. This is the third time I found that my food was on a melted surface and tasted like plastic. A toxic bummer. They should switch to less polluting containers or use foil for liners. I was craving noodles for a while, so this placed helped to fulfill that craving on Sunday. There was a decent size line when ordering to putting the good together, but it didn't take too long to get through. So how this restaurant works is you get a bowl and can add a side of rice or a drink to your order. Then you get to pick what you would like to have with your noodles. You start off picking from four different kinds of meat, which are chicken, beef, Turkey, and pork. Then you move on to the vegetables ranging from baby corn to cucumbers as well as adding even cilantro or pineapple to the mix. And then one of the workers ask for your bowl to add some spicy sauces, garlic, or at least some form of sauce to cook your noodles in and then proceeds to top your bowl off with noodles. Then you bring your bowl to the next worker that cooks it on this circular grill in front of you with the use of two long chopstick looking sticks. They cook the meat and veggies first, add some more liquid to the mix, and then add on your noodles till they're nice and hot. The lady in front of us had put in some pork and when she walked away the worker at the grill tossed some of it and had one of the other workers get fresh cuts for her so that was nice of them to do. Once you get your food in a to go container, you can eat inside the restaurant or outside in the food court area. Went here for some shopping and didn't time my trip correctly. I got super hungry, and I remember liking Gengis Khan for their tasty noodles and big portions. I paid just under $11 to fill up a bowl with raw meats and Veges before they add noodles, sauce, and then fire it up on a big skillet. Is it just me or the bowls got smaller? My husband and I come here all the time the staff is always nice and friendly. The cashier today were very friendly and full of smiles. One of the girls always calls everyone sweetie and it makes my day. Today was a bit different as there was two girls ahead of us holding up the line and on the phone.
