I was greeted immediately when I walked in. Wanted a table so I waited for the cleaning of a table that finished and was being cleaned up. Maybe 7minute wait. It is my first time here but saw yelp n just ordered what looked appetizing--Garlic Shrimp Egg Noodle (fried not noodle soup) The dish came with a soup on the side and the entree, which included 3 slices of pineapple probably to wash away the garlic after eating. The noodles were clumps together and tasted a bit raw/flour-y. That wasn't too bad, but would've liked it without that taste. The shrimp tasted ok...there were a good portion. The garlic...honestly this was something I didnt like as i knew this flavor...its either raw garlic that is passed due and has those clear parts and a bit sour or those preserved garlic in citeic acid, but tasted as if it were left out. Like a wet dish rag smell. I know this as i've used large bag of garlic from Costco that became this as I didnt use by the best buy or that it had fridge burns that cause the bruising and when I used it my dishes, it tasted lik this. This flavor ruined the dish and I didnt eat it all and took home thinking I can pick out the garlic pieces and just eat the rest. This took off 2 stars. Service was ok, altho I only ordered, food came, and asked for check, so didnt need much service. I added a Khrak Cambodian iced coffee at the end to take home... this was ok too. Just Cambo version of a Vietnamese Coffee. This here was a little darker coffee flavor I felt and less sugar (which is good for me). Im not sure I'll come back, not because of the food or rating, but because there are plenty of places to go for lunch and chose this place for today. Thank you.
We visited here a couple of years ago and quite enjoyed our meal, so we decided to give it another visit on our drive home from San Diego. We ordered: 1. PHNOM PENH HOUSE SPECIAL (sliced pork, ground pork, stomach, liver & shrimp) 20. PORK RICE PORRIDGE HOUSE SPECIAL (three-layer pork, stomach, spleen, liver & blood) Side of Cha quai (breadsticks) For the noodles, you have the option to order them with small or big rice noodles, small or big egg noodles, or a mix of both. The egg noodle options has an extra $1 charge. You also have an option to order it dry or in the broth. We ordered the small rice noodles dry. The dry option comes with the broth on the side, along with a giant beef rib bone. The highlight for me here is the broth, as it is super tasty, and the beef rib was super tender. I prefer the dry noodles since you can add additional seasoning to them; my favorite is the chili oil, which was quite spicy. The rice porridge is different from the ones you get at dim sum. It is lighter, with the rice grains still pretty intact. Like with the noodle dish, I really liked the broth and it goes well with the house-made breadsticks. The pork liver was a bit too overcooked for my taste, though. Overall, the dishes are pretty solid. Will come back again.
This place used to be Guppy Tea House. Now, it is called Rice String Noodle Shack. There's a reason this place has done well, their food is tasty all the way through. Try their Crispy Egg rolls? You won't be disappointed one bit. Or, their #17 RP Bowl Beef Soup? It is like a tastier version of Pho without all the vegetables that can get in the way of what you enjoy the most, the proteins. Additionally, they also have Beef and Meatball Soup #3 which is filling at a regular bowl size. The City of Cerritos since the 80's has gotten lazy regarding work hours. Normal business hours usually were 7/8am until 7/8pm for restaurants and some past those hours. Nowadays, you wander Cerritos and think "how do these people work when they open so late into the morning (often 11am) and close so early by 5 or 9pm?" Thankfully, Rice String Noodle House figured out how to take advantage of business hours and feed people before they go to work, in the morning, because they open at 8am. Finally a restaurant that opens early in Cerritos, Ca! Come by with your family, meet up for good soup and food with your friends. Located on South Street and Pioneer.
This has been on my bookmark for so long! Pretty sure this place replaced the OG Guppies We were in the area and I was really craving some Asian noodles and this was the perfect spot We got 2 dishes and an appetizer and we were stufffed! I was not expecting those portions. Very worth it for the price. I got their #1 Phnom Penh Noodles in a large so I can have half and half noodles! I got their thin rice noodles with the thin egg noodles with the soup on the side. It just hitsssss. The large is hugeee and super flavorful. I had to actually Togo this home cause it was so big We also got their Beef stew also in a large and got half large and thin egg noods. Super flavorful and the large is large. We also had to Togo this home too! The appetizer we got was their chicken wings and it was so crispy!! Loved their sauce and pickled veggies it comes with. Ate that whole thing up! Overall very delicious and happy with their portions. Highly recommend if you're in the area and not wanting India food

This Cambodian restaurant specializes in a variety of delicious noodle dishes. We ordered the Beef Stick Rice and the Loat Cha (stir-fried rice drop noodles with beef, bean sprouts, and eggs). The loat cha had great flavor, and the beef was tender. We also tried the Awesome Peach Tea, which was packed with real peach flavor. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with a spacious outdoor seating area. the customer service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a great spot if you're craving authentic Cambodian comfort food!
Food/Drinks: The Shack Wings were well cooked and seasoned (not dry or overly salty/garlicky, which can easily be the case). The pickled vegetables were a nice accompaniment, to refresh the palate between wings. The Seafood Noodles had a nice flavor to the broth; however, I ordered it with egg noodles, which I would have preferred to be a bit more al dente. Lastly, the Cambo Khrack Iced Coffee was pretty decent--the coffee taste definitely came through and wasn't diluted. Service: No complaints! Immediately attended to, upon walking through the doors. A few waiters constantly checked in on us, and one had an infectious energy. Also, appreciate the accommodation for our vegetarian friend, who had Tofu Fried Rice. Ambiance: Casual, industrial. Parking: Ample parking. Located in a plaza.
The spiffier sibling to one of those OG Long Beach Cambodian restaurants. Nice to have this spot in Cerritos. Service is super friendly and the food comes out quickly even when the restaurant is full. We probably wouldn't order the BBQ beef sticks again but wow the lort cha was so tasty as was the mixed rice dish which was as delicious as it was pretty. We enjoyed our meal. It is a family spot and pretty humble inside. I do wish that our table wasn't sticky. The doors and windows could also use a good scrub down sometime too tbh.
I'd never had Cambodian food before, so I was keen on giving it a go while in the area. Ordered a decent spread of food to share, includong Phnom Penh noodles (dry, soup on the side), Student Noodles, egg rolls, and Camboignets (cha kwai, but sweet). Also got a Cambodian fried rice to go. The Phnom Penh noodles and Student Noodles were tasty, huge portions and full of garlic flavor. The broth came on the side with huge hunks of meat, and was very rich and comforting. The egg rolls were nice and crispy, but just your standard egg roll. The Camboignets were a delight, nice and doughy, and similar to a French beignet. Had the Cambodian fried rice the day after, and it was decent, if a bit bland. It took a long time (30+ min) to be seated, but service was really nice once we sat down and the food came really quickly. I would definitely come early in the day and/or put yourself on the waitlist in advance, but overall, a solid introduction to Cambodian cuisine!
This is my go-to place whenever I'm craving Cambodian food. I love their Mo's special, it had noodles, chicken and pork. I got the soup separate so I could control how much soup I could add into the dish. The soup came with a bone that had some tender meat & I could enjoy the marrow in the bone. I also really enjoy eating their bai mon bowl. it's a rice dish with various meats, cucumber, tomato, and pickled veggies. It's a very balanced meal and very flavorful. The servers here are friendly and attentive. I will definitely be coming back
Back at RiceString Noodle Shack and this time I switched it up for the rice dishes--and wow. The Cambodian Fried Rice came out glossy but not greasy, perfectly seasoned with that smoky wok hei aroma that hits right away. The Chinese sausage added just the right touch of sweetness and richness, giving each bite extra depth without overpowering the dish. It's comforting, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. I also tried the Bai-Mon bowl. I initially thought it would be more salad-forward, but it's actually a hearty bowl layered with proteins and fresh greens over rice cooked in chicken broth. That broth-infused rice makes all the difference--fragrant, savory, and balanced. It's a full, well-rounded meal that leaves you happy but not heavy. The only small downside? I arrived a bit late for lunch, so the in-house soup was out of pork bones. Still tasty, just missing that extra depth. Even so, it's an easy 5 stars. The food stays consistent, comforting, and crave-worthy--and the service remains just as attentive and sweet as ever. Definitely one of those spots that keeps you coming back for more.

Definetly food on the sweeter side but provides plenty of condiments to add spice sodium etc Sharing yes for sure and leftovers absolutely Tried out the student noodles and RP bowl. Wasn't sure how to eat everything but I think that what made it fun trying the food as is, dipping, mixing, or eating things in a certain order. Fresh made to order, flavors did not overpower, broth tasted comforting and soothing, the giant neck bone meat was tender and the cartilage was soft and fatty in a good way, always nice to enjoy the extra marrow flavor For meats primarily saw beef chicken pork shrimp but look like online tofu was an option and combination of the meat also an option that would also determine a price difference Would certainly comeback to try more. Certainly family friendly, date night, solo dining, and group of pals hangout establishment. Lively quiet and comfortable setting.
This is basically Phnom Penh Noodle Shack's larger and modern location in Cerritos. I had been to the original spot in Long Beach which always has a long wait, but I'll be frequenting this spot more. Menu has all the classic Cambodian noodle dishes along with some more modern eats like their shack wings and egg rolls. They have a large variety of noodle and rice dishes to choose from, I love how you can customize dry or soup along with noodle type. My go to is the #2. Mo's Special with soup on the side. Their homemade broth along with the tender pork bone hits the spot especially on a rainy day. I'll be back here again!

Oh Ricestrings, yep that spot in cerritos that has plenty of parking and seating. If you have not gone, you should definitely check them out. They provide a consistent experience with their signature soups and dishes to share with family. I will say it is much better enjoyed at the restaurant but if you can't make it up, they package it nicely for delivery. When you do go to the restaurant you'll find plenty of seats and quick service. I ordered for a total of $50 delivered to my door: two beef stew soups, 1 fried rice plate, cha-quai and round bread. Overall great deal and they're always made quickly. read more

This place is one of my go to spot in Cerritos. The food here is really tasty and they have a variety of dishes to satisfy everyone. I feel like the service here is decent, just standard special. I do feel like sometimes the tables are a little dirty. I just knocked down one star because I don't think it's as good as their other location in Long Beach... I'd recommend trying the noodles dry you get a little bowl of soup on the side read more
RiceString Noodle Shack is a staple Khmer-owned spot serving up some authentic and delicious Cambodian cuisine in the Cerritos/Artesia area. This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots. Wait times can get long fast, so plan accordingly to put your name down on their waitlist. Wifey and I stopped by for lunch around 12pm and it was about a 30 minute wait. They have a good amount of seating inside and outside on their patio. For their menu, they have a nice selection of appetizers, entrees, and drinks to choose from. I got the Phnom Penh House Special, wifey got the Loat Cha, and we got the Ho-ney Ho-ney and Sea Salt Cream Taro Milk Tea for our drinks. Overall, everything that we had was absolutely delicious. All of the staff here are very and friendly. If you are ever in search of authentic and delicious Cambodian food, this spot has to be on your list. Stopped by for a quick lunch. In the many years I've been here we never ordered the shack wings. It's great! Crispy outside, juicy tender meat and just the right amount of seasoning you don't need any sauce (it does come with sweet chili). It wasn't busy when we got here at 11:30a but it must have been a lull between the breakfast and lunch crowds. read more

Second time eating here and it's been great so far. Prefer Cambodian Hu Tieu over the Vietnamese style. It's a hole in a wall type restaurant; mom and pop shop. It's a bit of a drive from my area, but I totally think it's worth it. We ordered the PHNOM PENH HOUSE SPECIAL w/ soup & the MO's SPECIAL w/ pork bone soup on the side. Both dishes is a 10/10. The flavors, savoriness of the meats and the garlic oil hits the spot good. The pork meat is lean and not too fatty. It also comes with a side of steamed bean sprouts and pickled chili to add a kick to the noodles. There's various type of noodles to choose from, so try whatever you like. I recommend getting the Chinese donuts to dip in the soup too. It's game changing. If you know, you know. The service was good. We were quickly seated and our food came quick and steaming hot. Definitely will come back again with the homies. People come thru for some bomb noodles! read more

This place is so good. Must get the soup noodles with soup of the side so you get the huge pork bone in the soup. My favorite is the beef and beef meatball soup noodles. Also must get the student noodles. And of course gotta get the round bread! Perfection. Soup really hits. read more

I've been here a few times and each time, I try to order something different. For some reason, loat cha always makes it into the order. Well, that's because it's delicious of course. Everything I've had though, honestly hasn't disappointed. The place is not huge, but good enough for smaller groups. We actually had, I think 12 and we were able to be seated outside with enough space. They have a big menu, so I think you would find at least something for everyone to enjoy. Nice, clean & cute Cambodian noodle place. Drove by any saw this place so stopped in to get some noodle. This place is quite nice with both indoor and outdoor patio seating. Parking is easy and plenty. Service is nice & friendly. Got seat right away in mid morning and the place has handful of customers. Easy menu and plenty choices. Got the PHNOM PENH house noodle (dry) special with bone/broth on the side, the meat bread, and iced coffee. The noodle is great, well mixed and tasty, the broth is very well seasoned and the bone (meats that is) very tendered and fell off the bone easily. First time trying Cambodian cuisine! Friends brought me to this location - a family friendly restaurant with ample seating indoors and outdoors. They have their own private lot but this restaurant tends to get busy. I decided on getting the Student noodles with beef; dry stir fry noodles with marinated beef. It comes with a side of soup with a pork bone which is only available to for dine-in customers only. It was so much food! With the beef stick appetizer, I could have been full just off of the soup alone. The noodles were simple but very flavorful. The beef was marinated perfectly and the pickled vegetables is a great palate cleanser. Although the place was very busy, we still had great customer service and our orders came out in a timely manner. I would love to come back and try more dishes but it will be hard to stray away from the student noodles. read more
This is our second time at this place and it is a solid spot! I love Cambodian food and LA area has a lot of good Cambodian food. We got the dry Phnom Penh noodles, number 2 kathiew, chow fun (mee kathang) with chicken, and their cha quay (oil sticks). Everything was good. The dry kathiew had good flavor. The noodles could be a little chewier. Just my preference. The kathiew and soup is really good. Has the authentic Cambodian kathiew flavor that tastes clean and light. The mee kathang was flavorful and not too sweet. Lastly, the oil sticks has a nice crispy outer layer with soft fluffy inside. My son loved it. We came for an early dinner on Sunday and joined the online waitlist so the wait wasn't long. The service is fast and the workers are nice. The restaurant is clean and casual. Loving this spot! This is my second time here, and I really enjoyed my order. I had the garlic shrimp with pineapple on the side, it was delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. We sat outside and enjoyed the ambiance. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes! read more
Most favorite items: The beef sticks and the hainan chicken. The beef sticks were well seasoned and grilled prefectly. This item came out last but you can tell they had just finished grilling them. A must try. The Hainan chicken rice came with a huge portion of juicy, chicken-y chicken if that makes sense (in a good way). We also had Mo's special which had pork beef balls with the pork bone soup on the side which was okay but not our favorite dish of this meal. The noodles were cold and pretty bland, def needed to add extra condiments. The broth however was fantastic. Porky and aromatic. Super busy with families on the weekend. My favorites are usually the garlic shrimp, egg rolls, and fried rice, but when I'm craving for something to warm my soul my go-to order is always the #1 Phnom Penh Noodles (House Special) with big rice noodles. The broth is rich and deeply flavorful, the kind that warms you up from the inside out. You get a generous combo of meats (sliced pork, ground pork, shrimp, and more), plus the big rice noodles are perfectly soft with just the right bite. I will always come back to this spot for a taste of home. They serve the best traditional Khmer/Cambodian food for those times when you want a taste of home. These dishes are absolutely delicious and full of flavors that make you say "I should call my mom". I've gone here several times and love the mo's special noodles (soup in), chicken rice porridge, cha quai and the combo khrack iced coffee. They all tie in together for that home cooked feel with all the right add-on's and toppings to your heart's desire. The cha quai is great for dipping into both dishes and the coffee is strong and washes everything down perfectly. The service here has always been good for me and they consistently provide great service. They know they get busy so they work quick and efficiently while still being respectful and friendly. The ambiance here is nice. It can get louder as the restaurant becomes more busy, but that's expected anywhere. The parking here is easy as there's parking out front but also along the side and rear of the restaurant, too. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and will gladly come back for more! read more
If you want a cozy bowl of soup on a cold morning, come here. They open at 9am, which is clutch. I stopped in before work and got the Fit Bowl, requested no noodles, add tofu. Food wise today was on par with previous visits. A huge however: came for lunch at close to 2 pm, which would have been just after the lunch hour rush , so many tables were unavailable because none of them were cleared! It was rainy so no outdoor seating was in use. On top of the dining area, the toilets were also extremely dirty. Both all gender restrooms were a mess: floors were wet with liquids of unknown material origin. No soap in one sink which was also dripping water. I was so disappointed that these expectations of bussing tables were not being maintained and cleaning not worked into the staff's schedule. Was the food still good? Yes : I got the regular rice porridge with blood cubes, sliced liver and chopped pork. Comfort food for a rainy afternoon. Fried egg rolls were fresh and crunchy, bread roll also freshly made. Hainan chicken is a large portion of chicken plus a side bowl of broth. That was most of the leftovers for today's dinner. We did get great service, and waiters came by a few times to check we had everything we needed. read more
I really enjoy the food here, especially the house special noodles with the big, thick rice noodles and the soup served on the side. The food is always delicious, and the service is efficient. However, the environment is a different story. No matter what time I visit, it's never quiet -- which I suppose reflects how well their business is doing. Still, even during off-peak hours, the space feels loud and overwhelming. I think the real issue is the design of the space itself; it's noisy even when there aren't many patrons. Sometimes I feel like I need noise-canceling headphones just to enjoy my meal. Overall, if you're coming for great food and quick service, this place won't disappoint. But if you're looking for a relaxing, peaceful meal, it might not be the best spot. read more

There is some outside seating and it's covered. I think there's heat lamps. But why need heat lamps if you can can a nice hot soup served. Hope this helps and check out my review on YELP!
Do you guys have catered orders for beef stick?
They do, it's $3.50/stick minimum order 25 sticks. Also place the order a few days prior to the event so they have enough time to prepare for it :)

Guppy Tea House had its successful run. But unfortunately they closed down. We don’t know the details, but we believe it’s due to lack of capital.
