I called Genie Appliance Repair to ask about having a new part installed on my 3 year old Samsung refrigerator. A previous company that I contacted came out and told me what part was needed but then advised me they could not obtain a genuine Samsung part so they would not do the job, yet they still required a $99 trip fee. The owner of Genie Appliance called me back and verified where I could order the aftermarket door part and said he could definitely install it for me, or also said it might be easy for me to install myself. We scheduled service for our ice maker. The tray had broken off and it was constantly freezing. Service tech came out. He did not seem to know what he was doing. Put the tray back on, or so he thought and said that it could have been a mother board issue. Turned our breaker on and off and said that should help. Give it 24 hours and said call if you have problems. Well fast forward to the next day it wasn't making any ice. Turns out that he did not even turn the ice maker back on. Turner ice maker back on and it started leaking water on to the floor the following day. Made some ice but the below picture is what happened. Horrible service. Do not recommend! We had a different, very knowledgeable tech come out the next week and he was able to fix it in one visit and never mentioned a mother board issue! Beware of this service company. read more

I manage a couple of rentals in Salem. I don't know what happened to Genie Appliance Repair. New ownership perhaps? After a string of bad experiences I tried Genie Appliance in Jan 2022 and was pleasantly surprised. Chad the Technician was great, excellent attention to detail, great communication, and I felt he had my best interests in mind. I was very happy that I found my go to appliance repair shop in Salem. Today I called Genie needing appliance repair at another of our rentals. Something was different but I proceeded with the call to schedule a repair. 10 minutes later I get a call from Genie trying to collect full payment up front 2-days before the appointment? I stated in the past Chad sent me an invoice and I mailed a check. The individual on the phone stated they no longer accepted check and they refused to work with me, and he actually said I should go look elsewhere! Are you kidding me? Unbelievable. I called them to come look at my freezers ice maker that was freezing ice as a solid block and Tim came out and went through all the things to find a simple fix of the temp was too high so it was melting the ice. He also looked at my dishwasher when I mentioned it wasn't cleaning as well as it used to and found the problem right away. Great value for the care and attention! So glad I called them! read more

My dishwasher wasn't working over the weekend. I called Sunday afternoon and got someone on the phone. I was scheduled the next morning for an inspection. Had a leak. Before leaving, he ordered the part and scheduled the return visit for Wednesday to complete the repair. Upfront with the service call fee and how much the parts will cost. No pressure sales. Called and scheduled and appointment to have my dryer looked at and gave them my address including the fact that we live in an apartment but that I own the dryer. I got a call 20 minutes before my appointment that the technician was on his way and to be expecting him. After 25 minutes I get another call from them saying that they actually don't do repairs in apartments. Not only wasted my time but I am now looking for another repair person and am going to need to wait even longer for someone to come out. This was unbelievably unprofessional, no apology was included, and they tried to belittle me about it. read more

We had Genie out to repair a less than 2 year old refridgerator in April 2022. The ice maker had stopped working. Although the repair person seemed knowledgable and found the part to repair, it went bad again 8 months later. I called and asked for them to come look at it and was told 90 day warrant on the part. They were going to charge us $140.00 to come out and look at it again. I said it might just need some kind of adjustment on the part. It was already $400.00 to repair it. They did not stand behind the repair at all and I told their dispatch person I would not be sending any more business her way and she said " I dont care". I dont recommend them. I have already paid the $140 dollars for them to come out and repair. If something new was wrong of course I would pay them. Called to set up a repair. Whoever was on the other end had a very bad connection and/or was talking on a speaker phone with a lot of rattling around in the background. I told him that it was hard to understand him. I asked him two or three times to slow down and speak clearly. About the third time he just hung up on me. read more

Great experience. Our dryer was having issues with starting and with drying. Scheduled an estimate within two days of calling. Aidan called to me let me know he's be early, he diagnosed the issue and ordered the part. He was back when the part came in and the dryer worked for a bit and then had other issues. Aidan came back and found additional issues with the motor. He apologized and made the situation right and replaced the motor. He didn't over charge us for the additional labor. I really feel like Genie has integrity and really cares about their customers. Twenty loads later, the dryer is better than it was before it started breaking down. Had our glass radiant cooktop completely fail on a frigidaire unit. I didn't really call around , but did See Genie Appliance repair and based my decision solely on the reviews I found. I can confirm with all of the reviews on their page and other places I saw, google etc. that Tim does fantastic work and in very good time. prompt response from the web form to completion of fixing our Electric range.
