    Re-fried vegetable croquette..super greasy.
    Jasmin O.

Its been okay so far.. sushi taste mediocre okay except for my vegetable croquette was re-fried and not fresh it was oozing oil. The orders took awhile to come out today.. kind of slow for food service vs other genki sushi locations. It's Sunday not too busy 12-1pm. When we were seated..one of our cups of water had a piece of rice..or food on it. It was an instant turn off.

We had no idea that you order and your food comes out on a conveyor belt in a serving car. The grandkids thought that was fun. The adults liked how things arrived as they were made instead of waiting for everyone's order. The food was all good. Nothing super special but not anything I wouldn't have ordered again if I returned. We tried about 15 different menu items. The prices were reasonable. We got there at a good time as we only had to wait about 5-10 minutes for a table. When we were leaving the wait time had grown to 45 minutes. If you're in a group larger than 4-5 be prepared to be split up between two tables. That may have been the only down side to the experience. We were given our drink orders by a human but on the way out we saw a robot server delivering drinks. The kids liked that.

As much as I love genki sushi, this experience was not it. The things that were enjoyable was the spicy ahi udon, the spicy tuna sushi, and the fried squid combos. for what we didnt enjoy was the wagyu beef and the sukiyaki bowl. the wagyu was just drenched in unagi sauce and was very tough to chew. let alone, its one piece for $7.25.. and for the picture below, that is the sukiyaki beef bowl. not only was the cuts of meat all fat but there was a puddle of oil and shoyu at the bottom of the rice and it was salty as hell. and also it was 90% onions and 10% meat. and for the service portion towards the end, i probably pressed the pay button 8 times and waited 15 minutes for someone to finally help us pay the tab. as much as i love genki, this experience was least pleasant.

Convenient location for conveyer belt sushi. The food offerings are standard - nothing that really stands out, but prices are affordable. Presentation of the items aren't always the greatest but the food usually comes out quick via the race cars. This location serves alcohol, which is a plus. I've noticed flies near the dining area before and I have photos of them on the call buttons, so I stayed away for a bit. However, on my most recent visit with friends, I didn't notice any flies. Whew! Hopefully all my pictures (10+) are posted with this review.

I'm actually shocked on the overall rating for this location!? My other and I dined in on 4th of July, anticipating that it would be crowed, I called and there was no wait time for a party of 2, we dined in around 3pm and shortly after being seated the place got a bit more packed, but didn't affect our service. We usually don't come to genki but since kurukuru closed down this is our next option. I notice the prices have went up but I'd hope the quality would be better too, we typically order a spread of items off the menu and they have specials. I ordered the Uni hand roll and the Uni bites, i've had better quality of Uni at other restaurants and outside of Hawaii, You can tell it was not fresh may have been frozen, but was not terrible. The place was actually very big. I've only been to this location a handful of times. The tables are good for a family of four or five and they also do have single seating. It was air-conditioned and the food came quite quick from the kitchen. We probably spent about $200 for our whole dining experience. I would give it four stars, because the kitchen did miss a few of our items that I didn't get until the end of our dining experience but we had a really great server, I believe the person's name was skai, super respectful, very apologetic and helpful I mean overall I'm big on customer service and that person did outstanding, even on a holiday that most staff hope to have off still was nice. PLEASE GIVE THAT PERSON A RAISE! I would definitely come back in hopes that I would be served by the same person. Quality of food is not terrible very fulfilling and rich and whoever had the playlist on the 4th of July around 3-4pm played very good music too. If you've had bad things to say about this place that's totally fine, You just leave more table room for the ones who actually enjoyed it here!

I came in for lunch on a Wednesday and had no problems being seated right away at the counter. Everything is ordered thru your phone by scanning the QR code. The server did ask me for my drink order right after seating me and my soda was brought over promptly. It wasn't busy and noticed all other parties coming after me being seated right away also. It is a family friendly restaurant with families seated in booths since it is summer. All my food came out the right temp and quickly. The karaage and string bean tempura was a little darker than usual but I didn't mind as it didn't taste burnt. I tried the new yuzu aioli salmon and it was eh, not worth the $5.85 price tag. If you are looking for a fast food sushi place then this is it. You can order ahead for pickup on the app.

Its wrong!! I've never seen this happen before in ANY SUSHI RESTAURANT!

I've never been to a Genki that ran out of white rice. And then when asking a waiter--he could not explain it... Sorry I have a really hard time understanding how a sushi place can run out of white rice when 90% of their items have white rice in it.. Anyways, overall communicating anything to the waiter was very difficult. He couldn't understand us...and we definitely couldn't understand him. Also never ever, did I get 2 different nigiri's on one plate. They put seaweed salad and tomato on the same plate?!....Although they are not fish, how do they know if its for the same person because it WAS NOT! And you cannot expect 2 people to eat off the same plate?! Sorry but it was a junk experience really. To add to our, many other common items on the menu was "out of stock"...boo.

Uni and shiso roll, Whelk , Red Sea Snail nigiri, Ikura Gunkan

Recently went for lunch , about 40% menu items were unavailable. I was very disappointed on the availability of items. Think they will loose many customers because of this. Items ordered was OK.

Good service. We came for dinner and had a slight wait to get in as it was a Friday. The food was good but not amazing. Slight delay on receiving the food but overall it was as you'd expect. Overall a good experience and will be back.

    Chicken Karaage

Ordered chicken karaage, along with salmon karaage for takeout. We had an individual with a seafood allergy who ordered the chicken karaage. This is usually not a problem as they can eat products cooked in the same oil with no issue. As they ate, they noticed an orange hew and grey piece attached to the chicken. A piece of the salmon karaage connected to the chicken karaage. Fortunately this was recognized before any allergy occurred, but this speaks to the quality of the restaurant.

I usually have better luck on the rooftop above Whole Foods MENU- the menu is smaller than genki but the portions are larger hence the higher prices. The menu is also smaller than genki but I was satisfied with what they have. The Don bowls are huge and we both ordered one. My husband ordered the salmon oyako bowl and I ordered the tempura Don. My bowl came with soo much tempura. I usually order 2 individual tempura type dishes but this bowl can be with more than enough. I didn't rest the rice but ordered a garlic ebi nigiri which I loved. Street all that fried good, I needed something to cut all that grease so I grabbed a salad bowl off the conveyer belt. Also, who tf eats salad at a sushi restaurant? Apparently me, it's me! We're also ordered fried salmon skin and an item that was not on the menu but there was a sign on the belt. Ginger hamachi nigiri. When I think of chirashi don at a sushi joint, I'm thinking that there's going to be mostly fish. This thing is mostly rice and filler. The little fish in the chirashi bowl is all scraps and undesirable pieces. You need a sushi special during these hours. Please for the love of all that is good, stop this. It absolutely did not disappoint. Safe to say I'll be wondering why I waited so long! We ordered quite a variety and every dish brought something delicious to the table. The Red Spider (soft shell crab, crab meat, romaine lettuce, cucumber, avocado, and tobiko) was incredible. Every single bite was packed with flavor and texture. That crispy soft shell crab added the perfect crunch that made this roll hard to stop eating. The Black Spider (soft shell crab, crab meat, cream cheese, romaine lettuce, cucumber, and avocado) was an interesting twist from the Red Spider. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was equally delicious. The cream cheese gave it a richer, creamier bite that worked surprisingly well. Next up was the Chicken Katsu Curry. Japanese-style curry with veggies and crispy chicken katsu over rice. The chicken was beautifully crispy, exactly how katsu should be. Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired perfectly with the rich curry. The veggies were cooked just right too. Overall, a really satisfying dish. The Spicy Ahi Handroll was another winner. You really can't go wrong with this one. It was fresh, flavorful, and honestly disappeared within two bites. Yum! Then came the Pork Katsu Donburi with scrambled eggs, veggies over rice, drizzled with their amazing house sauce. Just like the chicken, the pork katsu was delicious. Okay, I can live with that. It wasn't too crowded this time so it was just a short wait but my gf and the kids all split and went to the restroom and I kept seeing notifications that all parties must be present to be seated. I started to stress that we would lose our place but I guess there's a few minutes leeway and they came back from the restroom right when I got the table ready notification. Anyway, who designed their damn seats? They should be forced to sit in them for a few hours and see how the back of their thighs feel with that big lip on the front edge of the seat, unless you have natural extra padding on your backside which I do not, these seats are very uncomfortable! This had to be the worst part of the visit. Probably on purpose so customers don't stay too long. Well, we sit down and there's only one menu to look at and the three girls are sitting across from us are looking at it and taking forever to decide what they want. In the meantime, I have to use my phone to scan another QR code to connect to the website where you order your food. I give my phone to my gf since she's sitting closer to the scan code and she has trouble getting into the site. I take my phone back and have to stretch across her and I get the ordering form up & give my phone back to her as she's asking the kids what they want. Then she starts asking me what I want before I even have a chance to look at the menu the kids are hogging. Screw it, I can see the pictures upside down and I'm not that hungry to begin with so I say I want natto and get the usual eww, gross from my gf. I'll have an unagi too. More eww! Yeah, I'm enjoying this outing so much! They should put at least two menus at eat table. The kids are still picking what they want so she places an initial order. Gotta admit the food comes fast on their little train delivery system. Some portions are very small, the maguro and other sushi have shrunk over the years as is the case with many dishes in most restaurants anymore. Some are a decent size such as the tempura and edamame. The food appears well prepared and tastes fine. Service was okay, but it is a self serve kind of place for the most part anyway. The wait help did make sure our drinks were good and they were quick to bring the tab when we were done. Fast food sushi so there was no dilly dallying there. All in all, I was not thrilled and would not pick Genki as my first choice of eating places in Pearl Ridge, not because of the food itself but just because of the hassle and uncomfortable seats.
