Having been here a number of times over the years, I'd call this a "blue collar" restaurant. It's not fancy, but the food is good, the salad bar rocks and the drinks don't lack for alcohol. As usual, as we arrived for our most recent visit, the parking area was overflowing. So was the bar area. We squeezed in and quickly caught the eye of an attentive bartender. I got a round of drinks and our number. We looked over menus, caught the same bartender and soon had our waitress find us for our order. A second round of drinks and we were informed we could go to our table in the dining room. We enjoyed the well stocked salad bar and a bowl of hearty, creamy chicken and dumpling soup. Like gizzards and liver pate? They have it. The delivery of our meals was timed perfectly. I enjoyed my ribeye and baked potato. The steak had great flavor and was prepared as ordered. My dining partner enjoyed their chicken Parmesan. We each took food home! Is it busy? Will you have to wait? Yes, to both. Is the service good? It always has been for me. Is the food good? I planned a special evening with my family for dinner and was very disappointed that, after we barely took our last bite of dinner, our waitress quickly started clearing our table. A few minutes later, she informed us that there were people waiting in the bar, and that we would need to vacate the table. We were never even asked if we would like dessert. This was a Saturday night and yes, they were busy, but I did NOT appreciate being asked to leave immediately after we finished our dinner, especially with dropping over $100. This policy is really rude and we will not be back. l would rather spend money at another restaurant where we are not made to feel like we are an imposition and need to leave asap so they can move more people through. read more

I love their quaint salad bar with soup their food is always good. The bartenders and wait staff is good the atmosphere is good even if you have to wait a bit. It takes us about 40 minutes to get there but it's worth it. read more

Our large group got there before they opened, and they were already serving people. We waiting 2.5 hours to be seated once inside. Food was just alright. The food did make our stomachs a little upset from the oils and grease, and the tenderloin seemed to be more of a sirloin. Food is more low class than we expected, but still had flavor. We can cook better steak and fish at home, but if you want something easy like fast food... this would be the place... if they had no wait. They used to have tap beer, but got rid of it. So all drinks are basically dive bar drinks and bottled/can beer. This is a good place for locals, but not people who enjoy quality drinks and quality food. read more

Geno's is an old fashioned supper club located somewhat off the beaten path in northern Outagamie County. We've driven by the sign along Hwy 47 numerous times on our way up north. Pretty glad we finally stopped. The bar area is a little small. On a typical night it's usually not too packed but it can get a bit crowded during the Friday night fish fry. The few times we've stopped we've been able to get a table fairly quickly. In supper club fashion there is a salad bar with the fixins. I've thought the lettuce has been sitting a little too long a few times but not terribly so. I've had the perch and generally have found they've gotten it right more often than not. On those times they were off, the fillets were a little greasy when served. It is called "fried" fish for a reason I suppose. My wife swears by the ribeye, telling me the flavor is one of her favorites. All in all a pretty nice find so far away from a populated area. Only 1-2 minutes off Hwy 47, making it a good spot to take a break on the way north. read more

We celebrated our anniversary here at Geno's. We enjoyed the food which was delicious and the wait Staff was great. Very helpful and friendly. Great options when it comes to gluten free choices. I would recommend eating here. It was a bit noisy which can be difficult sometimes but that shows that they are popular and the food is desirable. Tenderloin was the only good thing. Tried a 2 month old bottled beer (green 19), flat tapped bud light, everyone had WAY overdone scallops and the steak was not cooked to order. Don't recommend at all. Lots of better supper clubs out there. Oh and the old fashions were made with jero (not even close to a real "oldie"). read more

We went here for Mother's Day dinner. There were eight of us, so my husband had called a few days in advance and asked about reservations. He was told they accept reservations, so he made one for 6:00pm. We arrived and the place was packed. He checked in them was given menus for us to look at so we could place our order when the waitress came by. We've been to a couple supper clubs that have done that, but we were a bit confused as to what good the reservations were. Hubby ordered some drinks at the bar, which weren't bad. The waitress came by and took our order, and we still were standing around waiting. A little over an hour after our reservation time, we were seated and could get our salads from the salad bar. It was an average supper club salad bar. Our meals came shortly after. My steak (ordered medium rare) was under cooked. My husband's steak (ordered medium rare) was over cooked. My daughter's steak was a little over cooked (ordered rare). Kids said the seafood platter was pretty good. In all, the food wasn't inedible, but for the wait and price, I'd expect it to be cooked properly. It was certainly frustrating to wait over an hour when we had reservations. I get it was a holiday, but maybe they should not take reservations or at least explain what reservations mean to them. Not sure if we will go back or not. read more

After seeing the signs for years - we finally had the opportunity to stop and try out a new place. This is obviously a place for locals because we looked like a fish out of water when we didn't know the "rules" and no one was overly open about helping. I read a sign that said wait to be seated - but since there was no one seating people I asked the bartender what to do if we wanted dinner. A server would come over and take our order when we were ready and then we were assigned a table. Interesting system - and if it works for them - great - but was confusing. We ordered drinks at the bar, ordered our food and were assigned a table. No one said anything different and I couldn't remember what the menu said - so we just helped ourselves to the salad bar. Very basic and a little tired and wilted - but I was hungry. Of course I can't remember the last time I saw "baco's" - served in a carafe. Our server left some nice hot bread and our dinners came out pretty fast - our soup and salad was still on the table. Besides this - never saw the server again. No chance for another drink - no chance to comment on the food till the very end. Stuffed shrimp were obviously out of a freezer and the lobster tail was way over cooked and chewy. Hash browns with cheese - means a slice of fake cheese on the top - not what I was expecting. One steak wasn't bad - but mine was inedible. I had one bite and couldn't eat another - it was that bad. When we finally saw our server again - she asked how things tasted. I am not one to complain - but when I told her that it was disgusting she didn't seem fazed - only asked what can I tell "her"? Assuming "her" was the cook. I explained it was so salty that I couldn't eat it. No comment - no compensation - no apology for our "ok" meal...nothing. Was not interested in cheesecake - which I can only assume was from the freezer. Overall - very disappointing experience read more

We went here on a Thursday night for dinner and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised!!! We are always looking for new places to try that are closer to home without having to go into the cities and this was a great choice. I had broiled haddock and he had the all you can eat bbq ribs. The salad bar was included and was great, there was a cream cheese seafood spread that hit the spot, the lettuce was fresh and a good selection of dressings too. Plus blue cheese crumbles if you're into that. I'm not. Yuck! But to each their own. The food was quick, and the service was great. I called another establishment prior and we were on the fence with where we were headed. The other place also had a good special BUT the guy was short with me on the phone, this place got our vote by being super friendly when we called ahead! Hands down a great place to try, have an old fashioned, and a great meal. The only reason it's 4 out of 5 for me is when my better half asked for more ribs (that were delicious) they only gave him 2 more and then we had to leave so maybe ask "how many more do you want?). Heard from 2 or 3 people how good the steak was here so we had to try it! Upon entering at 5 pm the smell of Pine sol was overwhelming. I went to the ladies room and no toilet paper...off to a bad start! The bar tender was extremely friendly and we had very good cocktails. My husband, upon the bartenders recommendation ordered the Rib eye, I ordered one of the specials, grilled Sirloin. Salad bar was average but what was extremely unappealing, was all of the cheese and other solid offerings like pasta salad, had a dried top so bad that I stirred each of them to make them look more appealing. Soup was below average. My sirloin was surprisingly good! My husband's rib eye looked anemic and was horrible. Will not return. read more

First time here and drove 30 minutes for a good meal. What we received was much more than anticipated. Great cozy atmosphere. Walked in and bar area was busy but did find a table for two. Sat down and was greeted by a waitress to take our drink order immediately and give us menus, said it would be easier than going to the bar. Impressive. Ordered at our leisure and our table was ready. Perfect timing for our meal to come out. Ate plenty at the salad bar and of course soup and bread. Meal was great. First time patrons, and probably last time, too. My wife and I walked in, and not being familiar with the routine, ordered drinks and told the bartender we'd be staying for dinner. We were given menus, and it took over 90 minutes to speak with someone on what we would like to order. Was the food good? Sure, it was as good as other out-of-the-way places closer to home. Was the service good? Once things got rolling, everything was fine. Would I go back again? No. If a restaurants job is to not only feed you, but make you feel welcome, there are far more country supper clubs that provide the total package than Geno's. read more

Many years ago my wife and I tried Geno's when we were looking for a new Saturday night supper club when the one we frequented changed hands. A friend suggested Geno's so we gave it a try. Middle of winter, before addition and remodeling, packed solid to the door! I thought we may have made a mistake. I could not have been more wrong. we squeezed inside and found the most friendly accommodating people I had ever met. We were greeted warmly by Geno himself and his wife Jenny. Although extremely busy no one seemed to mind. Drinks were handed to us and others by friendly patrons. we were told of specials and to let the bartender know when we were ready to eat. The flow from bar to dining continuous with a very short wait. Veteran Geno customers were the friendliest people I had ever met. Offering suggestions for meal choices and offering seats at the bar when they were heading for the dining room. The menu at Geno's is unbelievable with dinners to satisfy every taste and appetite. The salad bar is second to none with everything you could possible want, not to mention home made soups. The food is outstanding and the staff is over the top. This little gem tucked off the path in Black Creek is outstanding in all respects. 15 years later and Geno's is still our place to go. Give Geno's a try, You will not be disappointed. read more
