This joint had no business carrying on the Geno's name. Not even close to the original Geno's established by the Brickley family in Five Points 50+ years ago, Not even close to the original. You can buy better frozen pizza at the grocery store than what they serve here. The only similarity to the original is the way the pizza is cut, into small squares. Don't waste your time or money on this dry, cardboard pizza that can be found anywhere . They even did away with their buffet. How does this joint even stay in business? Got there about 545 with our son and his gf and their 3 yr old twin daughter, we was seated almost immediately. Took about 10 min before waitress took our drink order and another 10 before she brought our drinks and took our appetizer order. We specifically told her we wanted the apps before our entrees so we waited a few before placing the entree orders. After about 30 min we asked her to check on our apps and she comes back saying they're behind in the kitchen, ok no big deal we get that. Finally about 715 they bring our entire order to our table, apps and entrees, so I told her we didn't want it that way and she said "ok I'll take it all back to the kitchen" with a terrible attitude like she could care less. The food, we ordered personal 9" pizzas, thin crust. My husband ordered it with every kind of meat and told me it was the best he'd had in a long, long time. I always try and get ham and pineapple and it was just as great. They were very busy, but both pizzas came out fresh, hot and delicious. Even though they were busy the service was wonderful! This place is not using paper menus. They are practicing social distancing and the staff are using masks. We order a pizza, garlic loaf and the boneless wings. The wings were like petrified pebbles and warm at best. They would actually not be that bad if they were fresh. The sauce was actually pretty good. We ordered the mild. The pizza, well it was a little better but not by much. All the ingredients came from a can and the bacon bits were salad bacon bits instead of real bacon. Crust was thin and burnt mostly. You would be better iff with a bake at home pie from Walmart. The garlic loaf was a soggy mess. Burnt on the bottom and just a sogged out sliced disaster. In addition, the the water at this place tasted like they fished it out of the nearest lake. They tea also had that nasty swampy taste as well. Skip at all cost. You have been warned. This place is a one star palace at most. I added another star because the service was pretty good. Servers we attentive and nice. Atmosphere wasn't too bad but dated. If they can focus on the food quality this place could actually be a solid 4 to 5 star location. I may not be back to this place in the future since we were visiting from out of state. Omg I didn't leave this review! We had a long road trip...and if you ever taken the true backroads you know it's hard to find diners and anything. We were really hungry by the time we got to Scotsboro and I mentioned I remembered this place. It was so with the wait! I like pizza.....I mean I REALLY like pizza....this was great! I am not from this area but my sister has been here and said the pizza was good so we stopped in for lunch. We didn't have pizza but instead I had a meatball sandwich. I'm sad to say it was not good at all. The bread was over toasted, the meatballs were not balls but slices of meatballs and there was hardly any sauce so it was super dry. My sister had the chicken Parmesan sandwich which was just fried chicken fingers on an over toasted and hard bun with again almost no sauce. Nothing worse than a dry sandwich am I right? I gave 3 stars because the staff was nice and the service was decent and I really liked the ambiance. But not sure I would visit again. read more

Service was horrible. Lindsey needs to seek employment elsewhere. Customers in-house are more important than to-go orders. Her horrible service resulted in Geno's missing out on more money being spent then what the order originally called for. Don't leave customers sitting at a booth or a table, never checking on them. It was 1:30 in the afternoon and very few customers. Cost of the shots was extreme. $5.50 for a single shot of alcohol? I have visited for the last time as long as Lindsey is employed at Geno's. It seems to me that ever since Geno's has moved to their new location. costs have increased and service has decreased. Maybe they just need to shut the doors for good. read more

Walking into Genos there is a big town sports bar feel with small town crowd. The seating is comfortable and has multiple TVs that are always playing the games of the day. Genos is a pizza place (not a Buffett) and they only have one crust/style (thin crust/squares), but it's really good! The pasta is great and my child always gets it and loves it. They serve beverages in large foam cups and their sweet tea is the best! I recommend an appetizer...the stuffed Bread sticks! It's almost like over sized mozzarella cheese sticks! The staff are always very kind and very attentive to what you need (plate removal/refills). Oh! They have one of the better salad bars that rival most steak house salad bars. Prices are very reasonable. Set back watch the game, sip your sweet tea and eat the pizza. Perfect. read more

I grew up on the original Geno's as many of the locals have and the food is the same authentic Geno's we all know and love, with some new menu items added by the new owners that cannot be beat as well! The pizza and wings were pretty good but not for what we paid. On top of it we had to pay $0.49 for gross tasting tap water in styrofoam cups. After asking why we found it was on the menu but I'm sorry who looks at a drink menu to find out the price of water. They maybe paid $0.05 for each cup and that's on the high end. We used to go to this place often. The service was terrible, we had to ask for a waitress, and it turned out that the woman who was the waitress walked by us several times before even taking our drink order. The pizza came out with the edges literally black, and there was no taste of sauce. We then had to ask a different waitress for a to go box (at least my dogs might like it) and our check. I used to frequent Geno's growing up when it was across town, it was great. Several years ago it changed owners and moved closer to the highway. Unfortunately it really should have been hit crossing the street and put out of it's misery. The staff all look like 'strippers meet-ex cons on the Jersey Shore redneck trailer trash' and treat you like you would expect. They all have the "like I give a f" attitude which seems to extend all the way to the owners. The food, is halfassed at best. I have ate there only a handful of times but each time I did, there was something wrong. The pizza was too greasy and if you order any sides, they sit around getting cold or hot (whichever you prefer them NOT to be) while the pizza cooks. There is no care taken in timing. Eventually it is all brought out to you, plopped down and your waiter/waitresses runs away presumably with something much better to do. If it's any consolation, I've heard you can buy drugs out of the back. You may need it to make it through. read more

A fairly average Pizza Buffet. The pizza had a splendid crust. It was the perfect amount of crispy for me. If you do like a softer crust I am sure you could request it. The fact that you can order speciality pizzas for the buffet is a pretty big deal for me as I am not usually into the general pizza that is on most buffets. I would recommend going during lunch rush hour or dinner. Otherwise the pizza will not be as fresh, just like any other buffet. Or you could order of the menu. We eat here 3-4 times a week! I love the buffet, but we also come for dinner sometimes & order to go! Always amazing service! I'm 5 months pregnant, and I crave the mild wing sauce & the salad bar! This is the cleanest establishment in scottsboro that we have visited. Although I can't enjoy it right now the bar is fantastic as well, with ton of choices for draft beer!
