But this most recent time he reserved a date for a move within the same city, which happened to be from a cancellation from a woman who was moving out of state. As it got closer to my dad's move date, my dad called a week+ before to confirm, and the guy took back the woman moving out of state's reservation and never even called to let my dad know. When my dad talked to him, he claimed to have never spoken to my dad before and was adamant that he didn't have a reservation at all. We think he took the other woman's reservation since it was out of state = more $$$. But that's a bad business move. Yeah, l get that they have 4.5 stars for their reviews, but IF this situation happened to YOU, you'd be pretty upset and stressed, too. Especially since my parents sold their house and are moving into a new one...they HAVE to be out due to escrow closing dates. The very least the business owner could've done was have some customer service skills and offered him another date that would work within my dad's timeframe and slightly discount the rate, but nothing was offered, not even an apology. Needless to say, my elderly father had some choice words for the business owner (or whoever took the call), can't say l blame him. In this day and age, customer service skills are sorely lacking. We will never use this moving company again. Yes, they have many 5 star reviews, but it only takes one bad experience to lose a customer for life, and business from everyone we know.
