Had my first session with Sophie for sides & lip and was thoroughly satisfied! I'll have to report back in 6 weeks when I return for my second session, but I appreciated the professionalism and honesty of the staff. They sat down with me and did a consultation beforehand and because of how thin my hair is they weren't sure I would need it, but after putting me under the magnifying glass they assured it would work. If you wax or thread, this laser session was far less painful in comparison (honestly it just feels like zap coolness). They're upstairs in case you cant find the spot. Love. i have been coming to this place for ages. The staff is professional and the service is great. They have base prices but they vary based on the individual and how much hair they have to begin with. The prices are way below usual and even lower than those unpleasant Manhattan prices. As you go for follow up sessions, the prices decrease, obviously because you have less and less hair to remove each time you go. I have gone for touch up sessions where i have only paid $50. Now prices like that would have me wanting to go fully bald! lol. On average, it's typical to go every 6-8 weeks. Again, it depends on the individual. I am on my second session of my underarm hair removal and i cannot wait to not have to shave them anymore. This place is highly recommended. Ladies, the time is now to get nicely groomed. Gentle Touch is a hidden gem. This place is a classic word of mouth establishment that has a constant flow of business. Only recently did this place get a website, and it is very basic! I have tried other laser hair removal businesses. One place charged me $100 to remove 8 hairs from my chin. Another place charged me $200 for bikini line...and I was burned. By the way, that place gave a discounted price due to an online promotion. The full price for the bikini line was $400. Gentle Touch, however, is the best. You don't need to take out a second mortgage on your home or sell one of your organs to have hair removed, unlike other establishments. What I like most about this place is that they assess the amount of hair to be removed and then price the removal based on the assessment. As the hair growth decreases, so does the amount you pay. I have never paid more than $300 for a treatment...and I get multiple treatments. For face fuzz, stomach, and full bikini (brazilian to be specific), I now pay $100, and that is an absolute steal! These women as really sweet and professional. Give them a call, leave a message, and please, please, please tip generously when you receive treatment. You will be pleased with the results! read more

I have been coming here for a while now (2.5 years?) and have never had an issue and I have seen all of the employees at the location. As well, you should definitely consider getting a facial with Catherine. She is so sweet and has a lot of experience with facials and skin care in general. She doesn't try to sell you products or make it seem like you need a treatment when you don't. She's honest and I have never had a facial as great as hers. Gentle Touch is definitely cheap, but I found out why on my first visit. The machines are so old that they overheat. Three separate times during my appt, the lady had to turn off the machine, get an ice pack & wrap the laser in it. (I know, I know...it's my fault for not leaving the first time this happened.) I ended up with burn marks that still haven't gone away on the back of my legs. Turns out it's not such a good deal if you end up with burn marks! read more

The point is to get the hair removed and apparently they were incapable of doing the job that they were paid and tipped well for. OMG Warning!!! I was so embarrassed and very sorry to recommend Gentle Touch to my sister. I had been a customer of gentle touch for a few years but I don't have much to treat so I'm literally there for 5 minutes. ALERT, If you have been in the sun and go for laser treatments you could be at risk for burn marks on the treated site. Guess what happened to my sister at Gentle touch located at 22-55 31 street,room#204, Astoria, in the train area before you go on to a train. Yes, she, unfortunately, now has a darkish blemish on the treated area probably forever. It's almost equivalent to a darkish shadow at 5pm for men. This was my sisters first treatment and we never discussed the laser in depth to mention pre-sunlight on the skin and I feel that's a professional responsibility of Gentle Touch.
