Wyatt Vandergeest is my tattoo artist and my husband's. We have gone back to him repeatedly and we love his work. He is a true artist, and all of my husband's tattoos that Wyatt has done have been based on an idea that Wyatt has turned into art. My tattoos are based on ideas that I modeled in ChatGPT and Wyatt put his spin on them. He is a kind person and is really fun to talk to while he works. my favorite tattoo on my body are these roses by Derek, done in 2019. It was my first time (and only time unfortunately) at the shop, and I can still recall that Derek was incredibly kind, consistent, and made me feel so comfortable. Honestly, Derek helped me gain high standards when it comes to picking out an artist!! He's incredibly talented and was a pleasure to work with. I was coming in with a traditional/neotraditional half sleeve done by other artists, hoped for roses to fill in the gap on my forearm-- and that's what I got! Life with my roses has been a beautiful one. the shop is excellent, very clean. The kindest staff. As a feminine presenting person, it can feel really intimidating walking into somewhere like a tattoo shop full of guys! But I felt so welcome, truly like one of the boys. I can't say enough about Derek and Genuine Electric! I had a 15+ year old eyesore tattoo that I just couldn't handle any more. I was referred to Derek by a good friend, and man! This dude knows his stuff! He took time and gave insight to how we could create a design together that would both fit my personality and last through the years. I saw a post on Instagram and saw the amazing work Derek did so I emailed him, sent him a picture of the general idea I wanted, made an appointment, and gave a deposit. Well I completely got the days mixed up and missed my appointment and even though it was completely my mistake they rebooked me as soon as possible and weren't at all upset about it. Both times I came in I was greeted right away and helped right away. I'm very shy but they made me feel very comfortable. Quick research on yelp led us to giving it a shot. We were greetes by very nice people not you're usual belittling artists. Imaculate shop! honest prices and clenest lines I've seen (they specialize in traditional so they really do have impecable line work.) A small 5 minute tattoo later and were convinced that they're the shop il get the rest of my work done. Gf came back 2 weeks later for another small tattoo and I received a beautiful american traditional peacock. After 7 years, I finally convinced my hubby, Eric, to get a tattoo. My artist was booked for quite some time, so I found Genuine Electric through Yelp. We called ahead of time last Tuesday night, and they said they had availability for a walk-in. The parlor was very clean, had a laid-back vibe, and there was plenty of street parking available. Eric wanted the Deathly Hallows symbol from Harry Potter on his forearm. Although it's a simple design in theory, I was worried because because there is no room for error with those geometric shapes. The artist that worked with the hubby was Jaiman. He guided Eric with choosing the size and placement, then went to draw up the design while we chilled on the couch. When it was ready, Jaiman placed the stencil, had Eric fill out paperwork, then got to the inking. Eric's tattoo came out PERFECT. Seriously, the lines were incredible. We ended up going back to Jaiman last night so that I could get the Dark Mark (also from Harry Potter) tattooed on my forearm. Again we were impressed by the clean lines. He does a stellar job, and prices are reasonable as well. We'll definitely be back this summer for more, and have been spreading the word to friends and family in the Valley. read more

No Bullshit, Honest Prices. I was in LA for a little over a week and I had been wanting to get work done for sometime. I sifted through tattoo parlors within a 30 mile radius of where I was staying and honestly I just liked Genuine Electric the best. Other tattoo shops may have more fame or more reviews, but these guys are really an excellent group. Atmosphere: The small modest shop is airy and open with large windows as the front wall of the store. It's bright, CLEAN, and pretty relaxing for getting work done. It's by no means a swanky place, just a modest tattoo parlor with good music playing at normal volume. Artist and Interpretation: Jaiman, the owner of the shop, did my custom tattoo. I went in the day before with a few pictures of asian house lamps that I liked the style or movement of and I explained the meaning that I wanted behind the tattoo. He said ok and that he would send me some sketches over email the next day. Sure enough by noon the next day I had two versions of sketches he had done, one more intricate, and one much simpler. Both drawings were really beautiful and he had really understood and absorbed what I wanted in the piece. He was really nice and collaborative during the whole process and really made me feel comfortable in expressing what I wanted without fear of judgment. Overall my experience was really everything I wanted it to be. I couldn't be happier with the my tattoo and I would recommend this shop to my closest of friends. Enjoy! read more

I've been following Derek's work on instagram for some time now and his artistic talent and flawless execution was always the norm in everything he posted. He has some of the best line work in the business and very unique colors. Got lucky and was able to get a spot this past June and got an amazing tattoo from him.
