Came for lunch when i was in Malibu and the Service is definitely impeccable. The view of the ocean and the ambiance is to die for. The baked brie was delicious, wanted to try something different and this dish was it. I had the watermelon salad and it was pleasantly refreshing. Not too heavy and perfectly balanced. The stars I give here are truly for the view and supported by the friendly service. Their location is unbeatable for a Malibu breeze, view & easy walk down to the beach afterward, if you wish. The food however was disappointing for the ambiance and price point. Steak was pretty tough and lacking in flavor. The sea bass was fine but had an odd bed of greens etc that was just too much. We did enjoy the watermelon salad we started with and the crème brûlée was definitely satisfying. The overall quality and sophistication of their menu items just fell short of what I'd expect from such an iconic spot. The hostess' at the entrance were very welcoming and inviting upon arrival and we came right before sunset and caught the most amazing views. One word: beautiful. The views on the patio were just STUNNING and it wasn't even a perfectly clear day initially (but did clear up while we were there). I was stunned by the ocean and sky views, which was coupled with delicious food. We got oysters and brunch food (challah French toast, and paella for my date), as well as the brioche bread pudding for dessert which we got because it looked delicious when we saw it brought to another table (can confirm -- it was SO good). My date also got a Virgin piña colada since he doesn't drink and it was SO good I had to get one for myself (and I do drink!). Our server was also so sweet and friendly, she checked in often and chatted with us about the restaurant, and answered all our questions about Eve thing. As you can imagine the place is a bit pricey (our total including tip was about $160) but for a gorgeous restaurant in Malibu with high quality food and absurdly gorgeous views, I was more or less expecting that and would still definitely go back. In fact I'm hoping to go again eventually at dinner time for the night experience, since we had gone at brunch! read more

Short version. Nice view, completely uninspired food and piss poor management in the front and back of the house. Don't bother--there are better ways to spend your time. Long version. First let me say that the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. With that in mind, I feel horrible for writing this but what a horrible experience. First course and drinks came out in a flash. Mains however took almost 45 minutes to fully arrive and came piecemeal, with my daughter (whose birthday we were celebrating) coming out almost 15 later than everyone else's. By that point the food was cold and the whole feeling at the table was ruined somewhat. The meal itself was mediocre. Not bad but you'd expect a little higher quality ingredients and presentation. A couple of plates had guacamole smeared on their undersides which was odd. Our waiter apologized for inconvenience and said the manager was on her way out to come speak with us. She eventually creeped to the table a half hour later, with a one sentence apology. She lead with saying she had heard there was an issue with the time it took to get our food--that the kitchen had fallen behind and she was sorry. I said it wasn't a good performance, no, and she asked if there was anything more she could do for us. I replied just the check and she stood there looking at me silently before walking away. I didn't have any hopes of a comped meal or anything but I thought an offer of at least coffee or a desert (which we would have declined anyway) was the service minded thing to do. Instead the check came out as is, after asking our waiter again after waiting 10 more minutes and there was no consideration payed to how poorly everything had gone. It wasn't just us either. I saw that the family who was seated 15 minutes after we arrived had just gotten their food. I guess that means it could have been worse. I paid the bill and we left. Such a shame. What a pathetic showing. read more

I thought the fried potatoes were okay and l wouldn't suggest them. I think l should had the mashed. Chimichurri sauce was too salty. Was brought here by my bf for my birthday recently! Beautiful seaside restaurant the ambiance was lovely. Note you do have to valet here and they were super nice letting me change in the car first in a handicap spot because I had no idea I was going! Do wear a nice outfit here as everyone does dress nice! They also provide charging for Tesla's so that's awesome! It is a $10 fee to valet so keep that in mind! Hosts were so kind and seated us by a table overlooking ocean. We ordered the salmon and the paella which were both so good! Yummmm The sauce with the mashed potatoes with the salmon was so darn good it melts in your mouth! My favorite part was the waiter singing happy birthday for my birthday with my bf in Fri t of everyone :) The view is spectacular and took so many pictures here afterwards as well and took a nice walk down to the beach via their private alleyway! Oh my goodness... this was the site of a birthday celebration for my blushing bride; What a great experience! We were seated on the patio with an ocean view in a fairly private corner. Keeva attended to our every need and provided lots of good advise too. Like all of our family celebrations we drank and ate, from soup to nuts. We often rate our meals to determine who had the best but this time we were all winners. no kidding, every one was a home run. One that was a bit surprising was the chicken roulade. Food was absolutely divine. Had spicy fried oysters, scallops with risotto for appetizers, disrespectfully perfect! Still raving over these two! Entree we had the swordfish with bacon and potatoes and the branzino with Brussels sprouts and yuzu sauce very good, excellently cooked pieces of fish. SWORDFISH WAS NOT TOUGH OR DRY like I've had in other restaurants, kudos to the cooking team! My boyfriend and I enjoyed the dark chocolate creme brûlée with strawberries. Not too sweet and the chocolate gave the dessert a richer texture but not overpowering the creme. Allie our server and our the Latin gentleman who continued to make sure that our table was well kept and not cluttered with too many plates, silverware, and glasses just made our dining experience just that much more special for our first year anniversary. Really great location, you need to valet but that's most of Malibu. The valet attendants were great l, hostess was great and the service was great. You will be paying a pretty penny for the view and ambiance, but it is worth it in my opinion. We ordered steaks so I would say a cut below a Mastros steak wise, but the sides and drinks well made up for that. I came here with my husband for dinner, we both ordered the most expensive dishes on the menu, the dramatic looking steak and lobster dish. At the end of the meal after paying for everything, our waiter came BACK to the table, opened the bill in front of my husband, and told him - while pointing at the bill - "this is the suggested tip amount, I just want to make sure you meant to leave what you did..." And left the bill with him and walked away. I have never been so shocked and appalled in my life. My husband did leave a tip. But I guess it wasn't the amount that the waiter wanted? The waiter had an attitude as if he was correcting a child. Leaning over my husband and pointing to the bill and saying what he was saying. It was the rudest and most vile thing I have ever experienced at any hospitality place or restaurant, high end or not, in all of my 48 years of life. Leaving a tip is a choice. It's at the diners discretion. And not to mention! That's not all. We arrived early for our 6:15 reservation and were told we needed to wait. So we were seated in the bar area. We sat down in two chairs next to the window. Directly on the other side of that window, we were staring at an empty table for two. Since they told us we needed to wait, we assumed that the empty table we were staring at wasn't for us, and hoped it wasn't frankly because it really didn't have a view. Fifteen minutes after our reservation time for which we were early for, at about 6:30, the hostess comes to collect us. And guess what, she walks us to the table we had been staring at for the past 30 minutes. We asked if there was a better option to which she said she would go find out, She came back and told us if we wanted a better seating option the wait would be an hour. We were hungry after a long day of shopping and driving so we conceded to sit at the mediocre table. Once seated, we endured a less than 5 star experience. Those expensive lobster and steak meals we ordered were bland - seasonless, rubbery, and flavorless. And also, the waiters didn't even bother to clear crumbs and debris from our table in between courses. They came to serve our main course and I had to point out to them the crumbs still on the table, so they had to take the dishes back, clear the table, then bring the dishes back. For a $500+ meal, this was the most awful experience I have ever had. It wasn't even average or mediocre, it was downright terrible, and humiliating to boot. So much so I even woke up the next morning still thinking about it and feeling bad for my husband who was treated like a child by the server at the table - and in front of me! What an awful, awful thing. To his credit, the manager that we spoke to by the valet at the end of our night, was very nice. He agreed, gratuity is optional and the waiter should have absolutely not have done that. But - even though he was "nice" - he only offered to give us a great table with a great view and also some appetizers on the house --- when we come back. But really, who would ever want to return to a place that treated us so poorly! The thought of putting myself in a position to be humiliated and treated so poorly again makes my stomach turn. Even though I didn't say anything, I feel like our entire meal should have been refunded that night. I just wanted to be out of there by then. I was mortified. Disgusted and disappointed. Prepare for jaw-dropping views - and prices! I haven't had the opportunity to spend much time in Malibu, so I was incredibly excited when one of my girlfriend's wanted to celebrate her law school graduation at Geoffrey's! We booked a reservation in advance, and in my opinion, got the best seat in the house! Their team sat our group towards the center of the patio, where we had 180 views of the coastline. This fine dining establishment specializes in seafood and steak and does a pretty damn good job of serving both. Each entree was between $30 - $100, so a pretty big splurge compared to my normal style of eating. We decided to get a number of table apps to share after hearing rumors that their Baked Brie was legendary. It was pretty incredible and had the perfect balance of sweet and salty between the Pear Chutney and Roasted Pine Nuts! We also shared the Ahi Tuna Tartar which I'll rant about later. For an entree I ordered the Miso Braised Tofu. You know a chef is good when they have you raving over a vegetarian dish! This entree was perfection and came with a side of yummy sauteed veggies. While the food was tasty, I was a bit bummed by their service.. especially for the price. We asked one of their team members if they could take a picture of us following the meal and they responded that they were too busy. I was also surprised when the large portion of Ahi Tuna Tartar was served with four small wonton chips. Came here for my dad's birthday this past Tuesday. The views here of the ocean are stunning and it's a cliff side view as opposed to beach side at Nobu. My favorite dishes here are 2 lb steamed lobster entree, crab cakes, watermelon and arugula salad. Also had a tangy raspberry and lemon drop martini. The first time we came here last year, my mom had a mishap on their driveway and tripped, fell...scraping her knee and damaging her watch.
