    Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass

Geoffrey's is one of those restaurants I keep coming back to about once a year. Every time I visit, the breathtaking ocean view makes me feel like I can finally take a deep breath. It's such a peaceful and beautiful place. I've tried quite a few of their seafood dishes over the years, and they've consistently been excellent. On this visit, we came for lunch and ordered the corn soup, crab cakes, Chilean sea bass, and skirt steak. Every single dish was delicious, especially the sea bass and crab cakes. One of my favorite Saturday plans is having a relaxing lunch at Geoffrey's and then taking a stroll through the Getty Villa afterward. It's the perfect combination of great food, stunning scenery, and a relaxing afternoon. If you're looking for a restaurant with incredible ocean views, consistently good seafood, and a memorable dining experience, Geoffrey's is always worth the drive.

The ambiance here is first rate. Overlooking the Ocean & hearing the waves is a huge bonus. The wait Staff is prompt with attention to detail as well as the customer. Not one thing out of order, all attended to, as it should be. For those who follow my reviews you know this service is Not at All restaurants. The Dirty Martini order was excellent! Dinner order is Pan Seared Salmon. And it is delicious and magical. So so good!! I recommend Geoffrey's Malibu

We made reservations for dinner while visiting Malibu. Our seat had amazing views overlooking the water, it was nice to have the heaters as it was a bit chilly the day of our reservation. Our server was great with good wine recommendations based on the steaks we ordered. We started with oysters, I loved the East Coast oysters, they were so flavorful and perfectly shucked. We both ordered steaks which were perfectly cooked and had such great flavor. It was a lovely meal with amazing views. We followed up with a walk down to the beach to take advantage of the beach access before we headed out to watch the Malibu sunset.

Geoffrey's was fantastic! I took my husband here for his birthday, and he loved it! The food is delicious, the service is excellent, but the view is breathtaking. We went again years later for our anniversary, and we celebrated here just the two of us. The views are still magnificnet and the food is always on point.

Overall great restaurant. Nice place to eat for some seafood by the beach. If you're lucky, they'll seat you closer to the edge so you have a better view, otherwise it's not a great view of the beach or anything except the sky haha. Food was decent, a little pricey for what it is but you're here for the vibes more than anything. Cant complain about service, the hostess, waiter, and valet were all nice. Unfortunately the only parking option will be valet so have that extra cost ready. They do allow you to pay for validation with your bill, so that's convenient. Came here for a special anniversary but I don't believe they offer anything extra for special celebration days.

Great wonderful classy casual location for a memorable birthday or any celebration for that matter or for no reason at all. Beautiful setting against the backdrop of the deep Pacific Ocean, clear blue skies as the sunsets into the west. Food was just as exquisite as the ambiance. Perfectly cooked lobster, salmon and paella. Crustacean was tender and flaky. Drinks are strong especially the martinis The initial serving of bread and their churned/whipped butter was a nice welcome touch. If you get there early (and you should), head down to the beach for a relaxing walk or sit down right before dinner. Reason I give only 4 out of 5 stars is due to the hostess (Not the girl who showed us our table though). The very first person we see at the entrance and there was absolutely no smile, no warmth, not welcoming at all. Just cold and robotic. It felt as if she was there only because it was a court ordered mandated community service requirement in order for her to stay out of jail or something.....very disappointing. Such a beautiful restaurant with delicious food and classy service only to be dinged by the very first staff you encounter. We dined on 8/23/26 Arrived around 6pm

Great customer service! The layout was exceptional! Such a gorgeous view, I kept pinching myself to see if I was dreaming. Every dish was very tasty! I believe Austin was our waiter, and he was just a cool guy! Highly recommend!!

Cute place to grab breakfast/brunch with a view in the heart of Malibu. We tried: jumbo coconut shrimp & lobster cobb salad this time. Jumbo coconut shrimp was probably the best coconut shrimp I've had. The lobster Cobb was also very good- a simple salad with fresh lobster on top. Valet parking only it's easy to miss the entrance. You might want to pay extra attention when you get close.

The appeal of Geoffrey's is the view that makes all your problems dissolve, and the buzz of comforting chatter. My party had made a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which we spent at the bar. For such an upscale restaurant, the bar was underwhelming and had limited chairs. Highlights included a phenomenal lychee martini and the bread. May be a bit unfair of a rating, because other members of my party enjoyed their mains. As for mine, the paella was visually beautiful, but it did not taste as I expected. One unexpected moment was when my waiter lost my credit card. Although they tried to remedy the situation, it was very unprofessional, especially because I was traveling, and it put me out a bit. All in all, a decent evening, but the low points tend to linger longer than the high ones. I wouldn't rush back.

I went to Geoffrey's Malibu for brunch with my ex-boyfriend on Sunday March 19th, 2023. Before that, I had lunch here with my parents on June 13th, 2022 for Father's Day. And before that, I think I had visited here once a very long time ago. "At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun." - Sandy Gingras I love Malibu. I always love going to the beach, and I think I've been to Malibu more than 50 times. My ex-boyfriend used to live in Malibu. His house was right in front of Malibu Beach with a beautiful ocean view. He made a reservation at Geoffrey's Malibu and sent me an invitation link for Sunday brunch. Oh yeah... Geoffrey's Malibu is one of my favorite restaurants. Who doesn't love an ocean view? Haha. We also had a family brunch here last year on Father's Day. Geoffrey's is still the best, especially on a beautiful, clear, sunny day in Malibu. I had the seafood paella and a cappuccino, and my boyfriend had an omelette and a mimosa. The paella portion was very large, but honestly it wasn't that tasty. But the ocean view is absolutely lovely. (3/19/2023 - Sunday Brunch) I also came here with my parents for a Father's Day celebration. We had lunch here on Monday, June 13th, 2022. I took a day off that day, and it turned out to be such a great day. The view and the music created a wonderful ambiance. The atmosphere was perfect. The ocean view and the short walk to the beach were amazing. I especially loved the ocean-view seating. My dad had the crab cake eggs benedict, my mom had the tofu salad, and I had the chicken piccata with a strawberry lemonade. All of the food was good, but honestly I think the chicken piccata at The Cheesecake Factory is better. Oh... and the dessert, crème brûlée, was so good. This place is great for an upscale lunch or dinner with a beautiful ocean view. It was such a lovely time. (6/13/2022 - Monday Lunch) These are the reviews I originally wrote on my Instagram at the time. cf) My ex-boyfriend lived in Malibu with a beautiful ocean view, but sadly his house was destroyed in the wildfire in January 2025. He also passed away in October last year. It was an incredibly difficult time for me. I cried a lot, and for a long time I couldn't even look at the names of the restaurants we had visited together. It made me emotional and very sad. This is another place that holds many memories of my ex-boyfriend. Geoffrey's Malibu, along with Moon shadows, holds so many memories with my ex-boyfriend. Moon shadows was especially close to his house, so we went there very often. Sadly, it burned down due to the wildfire in January 2025. It's really heartbreaking to think about.

When our kids are home for the holidays, they always choose a place to take us for brunch. They have great memories coming to Geoffrey's since they were toddlers so it's quite nostalgic for them. Needless to say, the husband and I were so happy that they chose Geoffrey's this year. With the recent rain we were a bit worried that it would be too wet or overcast. It was not! It turned out to be an absolutely perfect sunny, clear day. It seems that many people were worried about the weather as well because the place stayed fairly empty for our entire visit. We have not had this experience for years. The menu has remained consistent -- we all selected our favorites. It was all quite delicious although everyone agreed that the rosemary rolls have gotten smaller and a bit denser. Marcie was our server -- she was exceptional. She anticipated our needs and handled the smallest details. With no crowd, fantastic weather and the glistening ocean as the backdrop -- we had an absolutely beautiful time!

We visited Geoffrey's in Malibu for Father's Day and were seated for their three-course prix fixe menu. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to either the reputation or the price point. The meal started on a disappointing note with the watermelon salad. The watermelon was underripe and lacked flavor, and no salt, pepper, or fresh ground pepper was offered to help improve the dish. In fact, condiments were not brought to the table until the main course arrived. My tofu entrée was well prepared and was the strongest part of the meal. For cocktails, I ordered a Manhattan served up and was surprised to find it garnished with a bright red maraschino cherry, something I would expect from a casual bar rather than a restaurant of this caliber. My second drink, an Old Fashioned, was served with a more appropriate cherry garnish. The service issues were more concerning than the food. Our bill for three people came to just under $500, with each guest having only two drinks. The check included both a valet fee and a service fee, which led us to reasonably assume gratuity had already been included. After payment, our waiter chased down the gentleman in our party to inform him that an additional tip had not been added. He then added a gratuity on top of the service fee and valet charge. The situation should have ended there, but while we were waiting for our car, another staff member approached us and insisted that he had taken the wrong receipt. He explained that he had only taken his customer copy and that the signed receipt had been left behind. She continued to insist otherwise until I told her that the waiter had already taken the correct receipt and that she needed to speak with him directly. She eventually acknowledged that the waiter had not communicated the situation to her. Being approached multiple times over a settled check was uncomfortable, unnecessary, and left a poor final impression. Adding to the disappointment, the restaurant was aware that we were celebrating a birthday. The hostess acknowledged it upon arrival, yet there was no recognition during the meal--no complimentary dessert, no birthday message, and no gesture of any kind for the guest of honor. Geoffrey's undeniably offers beautiful ocean views, and that is the restaurant's greatest asset. However, for nearly $500 for three guests, the food and service did not justify the cost. Between the underwhelming opening course, confusing billing interactions, and lack of attention to a special occasion that had been noted in advance, the experience felt overpriced and surprisingly subpar. The view was memorable; unfortunately, the dining experience was not.

Salmon was good the Duck was meh ..too chewy and I didn't like the sauce

    Corkage fees in 2024?

Whaler is the best lunch table out of the sun with an ocean view?

I would say yes! I'm sure you can request from the pictures on their website where you would like to be seated.

Do they have sweet potato fries?

    No. They don't.

Are there any vegetarian appetizers and dishes?

    Yes they are.

    What time is lunch served?

    After 11 am

Can I bring my dog with me?

I believe so, there is outside seating. Most of the restaurant is outside.

Do u have high chairs for toddlers?

    i think so

How do you get a table with an ocean view/ seaside table?

Once you place your reservation by online or phone let them know you want to reserve a table by the ocean view and they definitely will accommodate you

What is the usual attire here? How dressy is too dressy short of a prom dress......lol

I saw a couple of dudes in shorts, and I wore ripped jeans with heels at dinner time so I would say semi formal if you want. Place is nice but the fancy part would be the check so you don't need a long dress just a fat wallet lol

What vegan options are there? Someone please let me know...... thank you! Specific dishes? Thanks again......

The Miso Braised Tofu I guess is vegan. I had that and it was pretty good.

What is the price range? The menu in the website doesn't have prices

If you go to the Yelp site and look at all pictures and then single out "menu photo's" you can get an idea of the cost per item. Apps start at about $18 and go to $22, Dinner items start at $29 for miso braised tofu and go to $94 for surf and turf…

How much is the valet at night?

Today for lunch it's posted to be $12.00 - added to your bill

Is there like a dress code or can you go in causal?

    We wore hiking gear

How much do they charge for a bottle of Dom or Moët?

A lot! We brought our own Moet and paid corkage. You are allowed 2 bottles per table. I think corkage is around 30-40

Are they still pet friendly even during COVID 19?

    Yes

Do you need to make a reservation?

    It is highly recommended.

    Can you wear flip flops?

    I wore sparkly ones

How is free Parking in Geoffrey's restaruant malibu?

    1) Find free street parking on either side of PCH and walk 2) Pull right up and Valet for $10

    Do they have happy hour?

    Not that I know of...

What's the best spot to sit to enjoy the view?

In the back left corner of the outdoor dining area.

Drinks were also great. The highlight of the night was 100% the complimentary bread and dip. We didn't get to experience the live music which was a bummer, but the vibes were still great. Our servers took good care of us and hostess was kind. Overall, it was a bit pricey for what it was, but still worth it! If you don't live near by and are coming out to Malibu for the day, it's definitely worth trying at least once!

Really fun ambiance, they have live music and they even had a dancer at one point which was super fun to see. She comes around to all areas of the restaurant so everyone can take a look. You get one round of house bread and their house dip complimentary. And for a group of 4 it was plenty enough. Their slices of bread are THICK. The house dip is light and fluffy. It's made with garlic and a slew of other ingredients. We ordered a few appetizers because we were only lightly hungry. The fried calamari was delicious, it's a typical calamari dish but it was still good. We also got the dolmas with ground beef. Woah, I've never seen such huge dolmas before! I'm used to smaller more tightly wrapped ones. They were great though! They had kind of a buttery flavor. Others split the spanakopita and seemed to enjoy it. Fun time and fun ambiance! Good service too. Solid place for a night out.

We've passed this…read morehotel from the freeway so many times and never realized how beautiful the property and ambiance were. We found the restaurant online and decided to visit for Father's Day. The Father's Day tomahawk steak special was a great value for the price and the portion was huge. The steak was good, but compared to other tomahawks we've had, it wasn't quite as memorable, which is the only reason for the 4-star rating. The creamed spinach was amazing, and the mashed potatoes were delicious. What truly made this experience stand out was the customer service. David and, I believe, Lance were absolutely wonderful. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Their hospitality elevated the entire experience. While dining, I noticed several guests stopping to thank them, give them hugs, and say goodbye personally. That says a lot about how well they treat their customers. If management sees this, please know these two are incredible assets to your team and deserve recognition. We didn't order from the bar since we brought our own champagne, but the bartender was also very friendly. Overall, the staff was outstanding, the atmosphere was beautiful, and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we plan to come back and stay at the hotel in the future.

I mean, isn't that the whole point of avocado toast? I had to send it back. Later that day, I decided to give them another shot and ordered the chicken wings extra crispy. Now baby, those wings redeemed them a little bit. They were fried to perfection. So my advice? Skip the avocado toast and go straight for the wings.

5 STARS for LOCATION 3 STARS for FOOD…read more You can't get much better than sitting across the street from the shimmering Pacific Ocean on a beautiful day. Location = perfect! Parking was a little tough on a weekend during the summer, but to be expected. We got a spot down the street on PCH and walked there -- all good. We waited in line for about 20 minutes which gave us plenty of time to get a little mini tan AND decide what we wanted by the time we got to the register: grilled swordfish with rice pilaf and salad, fried shrimp plate with fries, a New England clam chowder and 2 iced teas. First, the swordfish -- a delicious fish, barely needed to be seasoned. that said, I asked for it well done and part of the fish was still a bit undercooked. the salad was a BORE. nothing tasty about it -- don't bother - the Italian dressing tasted like cheap bottled dressing from the market. I expected more. the rice pilaf was good but I felt like it had A LOT of butter in it -- not necessary -- the flavor was there without the extra fat. my friend got the fried shrimp and fries and it was ... just .... OK. You tell me how ANYTHING fried is just OK. It doesn't make sense. Shrimp tasted like it had been frozen. I'm not saying it was -- just saying it tasted like it. Oh and my friend got the LAST order of Dungeness Crab and didn't even eat it -- said it gave him the ick. But, in fairness -- it was the last bit of it. Still, the chefs should only want to serve the best and this was not it! The New England clam chowder though = DELICIOUS. it was the fave of everything we ordered. I'd go back, but I'd go on a weekday when they are not so slammed. I bet the food is better and I hate waiting in line for food especially when it's just OK.
